So I’ve been having this hassle lately, because of my setup. Let me explain:

I have 2 HDDs in my computer, and both have a Windows 7 installed on them. (I’ll just call them “AWin7” and “BWin7”) Why?

Because
-AWin7 is my all around Win7, I have all my music/video editing software installed there, and just generally random stuff that I work with
-BWin7 is for purely gaming purposes. I have run all my games from there, including GW2, so they run fast and smooth without any random processes that may slow it down. It’s only has gaming essentials installed like drivers.

Now my problem is:
I’d like to run GW2 on AWin7 but whenever I click the exe to run it, it thinks that GW2 isn’t installed and wants to redownload the whole 15gb+ of data. And I don’t want another 15gb of data sitting on my HDD just because of this. (the reason why I want to run it from AWin7 is that I want to play the TP while working on music/ect, cause you know… there isn’t really a viable (EFFECTIVE) way to make money by playing the game instead of the TP. And playing the TP doesn’t require that much presence, that’s why I want to work on other stuff while doing it)

So is there a way to make the client SEE that the game is installed when running it from AWin7 instead of BWin7?

Hi TSLlol
You can leave the files on BWin7, log into AWin7 locate the Gw2.exe on Bwin7 and run it (or create a shortcut on Awin7 that points to the gw2.exe on Bwin7).

If you move the Gw2.exe to Awin7 you also need to move the Gw2.dat (15GB) as well.

thanks, I realized the shortcut I was using pointed to a different Gw2.exe (beta times..)
