Random FPS Spikes while playing
Sounds like your graphics card is downclocking. It does this to save power but its clearly doing it at the wrong time. I actually have an nvidia card right now and i cant remember the catalyst control center exactly. Look for any power saving options and turn them off.
In the nvidia control panel the option is called “Power Management mode” and is set to “prefer maximum performance”.
I tried doing that with the ATI catalyst center and still getting the fps issue.
Ty for your response Ubung very apprecciated
Wait a sec, you said CPU-z didnt you? Not GPU-z? Is that right?
EDIT: Actually no your said VCORE so i assume you meant GPU-z.
Sup brah. That cpu temp is getting up there if your running stock speed & could possibly be throttling. What are you using to test temps? Many programs are inaccurate & could be reading 10c either way.
If I were you I’d download Prime95 & run torture test for 10min:
http://files.extremeoverclocking.com/file.php?f=205
Also download CoreTemp for accurate temperature monitoring:
http://www.alcpu.com/CoreTemp/
Report back with temps.
Edit: If your Vcore is dropping while underload, you should also see your multiplier & core speed drop? Can you verify?
Edit1: Pretty sure AMD Overdrive works with the bulldozers:

Run Overdrive while Prime95’ing to make sure all your core speeds are at maximum underload.

Sry It was HWMONITOR from CPUID but it’s the same program I think

Do the above & report back.

Ahh so its your processor thats slowing down not your GPU. Tbh 60 degrees shouldnt cause a CPU to start throttling down. My I7 2700k @ 4.4ghz hits 60 degrees under prime95 with an aftermarket cooler.
Make sure you have enabled “high performance” in power settings in the control panel.

His cpu is 65c & AMD temp threshold is lower than Intel.

Did u mean running the overdrive aplication who overclocks my cpu when the torture test is running or just turning ON the overdrive?
My multiplier/core speed drops too. I’m downloading CoreTemp and I will do that torture test from Prime95 as soon as possible, there’s 3 options for the test, which one should I use?
Ty man!
Do the Blend to start.

And about the overdrive? Just turn ON the aplication or what I need to do? (as I know that overclocks my CPU to 3.900ghz)
Wow I can’t edit my posts and I don’t know why, well, turned the overdrive ON, just was wondering if I need to do the torture test and the auto-tune option from the overdrive together or just activate overdrive and overclock my CPU to 3900ghz then run the torture test.
Again, thank u
Done:
0 problems with the torture test.
As u can see the freq was jumping all the test from 1400mhz to 3900mhz is that normal?

Not normal, known bug/issue with bulldozer processors. They downclock underload. Let me try find a link to fix it.
I had the same prob when I had my BD rig.

Update your motherboard bios to start with, I think there is also a MS hotfix as well. Turn of LLC/Eist/C1 & 2 states in bios (if applicable).

Also check Catalyst Control Center, it also has it’s own overdrive for the processor.

Hi Cbuzz, I downloaded and installed the fixes, turned off LLC, C1 and I have no EIST (there’s an option called iGPU speedstep but i can’t turn that off, just set a manual clock or something) and I continue having the FPS issue and running again a torture test I can see the same jumps from vcore and freq.
