For some of us we are on limited bandwidth. Having patch sizes listed in the patch notes would be fantastic.

I agree, I would like patch sizes listed as well.

This one appears to be about 13 GB.

Basing that off the fact that my launcher switched from 0% to 1% downloaded at the 130 MB mark.

Or does it just track the files and it is frontloading all the big files at the start of the download?

It’s a huge update guys, be patient, everyone is still downloading.

I would recommend Anet to not do it during peak hours next time though, my speed drops from 2mb/s to 0.01kb’s the entire time.

The patch wont be 13gb, GW2 updates usually have the large files upfront and the smaller ones last.

On a sidenote; anet you did save my kitten in WvW though, we were about to lose one of our keeps.

Yeah, big files seem to be first, percentage speeds up alot later.

Yes, the percentage is files downloaded divided by total number of files.
Or thats how it looks anyway.

Same here…
And that with an abysmal d/l speed of 30KB/sec (normally I get 1Mb/sec.)

It turned to 4% when I hitted 540mb mark.

Edit: 19% at 700mb. That logic just got busted

Total came out to a little over 1,100 MB.

Sorry folks, thought I was posting obvious sarcasm :P It was more a comment on the failure of the percentage estimator.

13 gig? Are you downloading the whole game? o_O To me, it seems to be around 1 gig if anything.

…You know, I really wish these games didn’t come with large updates like this. I can run my internet at 145kbps download speed max, and a big update takes me out of the game for several hours.

Looks like I’ll be back in five hours. sigh

My patcher froze at around 5% and seemed like it installed something, then resumed the download. Download speeds are heavily fluctuating like always – anywhere from 20kB/s to 9MB/s.

yea this is getting ridiculous, last 2 patches have taken forever to download. 45 minutes and i’m at 470mb or 3% downloaded on a 20mb download connection.

I believe the percentage is based on the number of files, not the size of the patch.

It would be helpful if patch size was mentioned though.
