Resolution of Windowed full screen
- While in-game, hit F11 to open the options screen.
- Select the “Graphics Options” tab
- Under “Resolution”, select Window as the option.
- You can now go to the corner of the GW2 window and resize the game screen to your taste. Give it a few seconds following the resize for the screen image to also adjust to your desired size.

The only way to do this is to change the resolution of what Windows runs at to 720p. Then you can run Guild Wars 2 in Fullscreen and it will run at 720p.

Thanks mate.
Too bad there’s no option to let you run it at whatever resolution you want without caring for your windows resolution.
Like I said, I like to have windows on 1920×1080, but I just can’t play gw2 like that!

The other option would be to get better hardware to run at 1080p :p

Ah, so you wanted it to remain “fullscreen” but in a window and at a resolution other than what your desktop resolution is set to.
You cannot have the game run in a window that fills your whole screen that is at a lower resolution than that of your desktop, you use “fullscreen” mode to accomplish those results.
Why do you wish it to remain “windowed fullscreen” instead of “fullscreen” where you can run it at the lower resolution?
The only things I can suggest would be to either use “fullscreen” with a lower resolution, or if you need the game to run in “windowed fullscreen” mode, then change your desktop to a lower resolution before playing the game in windowed fullscreen mode, and change your desktop resolution back when you are done playing.

He could be running multiple monitors. I run multiple monitors and its faster and easier to alt-tab out of the game and get access to the other programs.

I run in Windowed Fullscreen 1600×900 myself simply for the ease of tabbing out without a full collapse of GW2 to the taskbar. Also, some elements of GW2 are not collapse to taskbar friendly, as some elements do not display properly again once returned to Fullscreen. In Windowed Fullscreen I suffer no loss of FPS. In fact, I actually gain 5-10 fps while in Windowed Fullscreen over Fullscreen mode as I benefit from that mode with how I have my setup configured. I see that there are many benefits to running in Windowed Fullscreen, I was just stating that running a Fullscreen Window at a lower screen resolution than the desktop is not possible without also changing the desktop to the lower resolution.
