Hi guys and gals,

During the head start period of GW2, I was running my laptop on a standard linksys Wireless-G router. I live in the New Orleans area, and the recent hurricane wiped out that router. I purchased one of the newer linksys wireless-N routers. The first few days when I was playing on the old Wireless-G, I was having no issues with connectivity or any lag while I was playing or anything of the sort. Since I set up the Wireless-N router over the weekend, I have been having an extremely difficult time playing with lots of lag, connection issues, and when I do log in, I will randomly get the following message::

Network error. Please check your internet connection and try again. (Code=1022:5:1:825:101)

This typically happens when I try to go to WvW, when I move from an overflow server back to my home server, and times when I’m qued up to enter a WvW map and when I click “travel,” I am booted (this happens almost every time). I am operating under the assumption it has something to do with my router, but given that I’ve never had an issue with the old wireless-G in either GW1 or 2… I’ve never had to mess with it, so please help with any advice/suggestions. Thank you.

- Start by turning the router off, wait 20-30 sec¨’s and turn it on again
- Check if your router have activated “UPnP”. If it isn’t activated, do it.. UPnP needs to be activated so the firewall doesn’t close the wrong ports.
- As a last resort, try resetting the router for 30 seconds. You could also do the *30/30/30 to be sure.

*
- Hold the reset for 30sec
- After the 30sec, pull out the power cable while still holding the reset button, and wait 30 more sec’s.
- Insert the cable again while still holding the reset button, and wait 30 more sec’s.
- Remove the pen from the reset button, and wait for your computer to get a connection.

Best regards
Tjynde

(Code=1022:5:1:825:101)

Ive also been having the same problem. I had no problems through 3 beta tests and the stress tests. But now I get this error every time I try to travel from overflow to the home server and when I try to join WvW. Ive tried resetting my router which did not work.

I think I might be having this sort of issue as well, this never really occurred during the beta’s….very strange, I hope they’re looking into all these crashes. The worst part for me is that after the crash, it won’t let me log back in.

From a security standpoint I would not recommend the activation of UPnP.

That said, try dropping yourself back to Wireless G. Wireless N has less range and you could be right on the cusp. If the QoS is turned on try without it. If it is off, try turning it on.

I recently replaced my old router with DD-WRT on it and had to actually delete all of my new routers QoS (quality of service) profiles. After doing so it has worked great.

I figure this may be an issue on individual computers as my roommate plays with me on the same internet connection and the same router, and he has not ever experienced a disconnect. Disabling windows firewall as well as windows defender seemed to not help as well.

Question: Is your roommate on Ethernet and you on WiFi?

My wife and I had this issue while playing WoW and in the beta’s for GW2. A new router plus deleting all of the QoS crap solved our issue.

I get this error whenever I try to edit my guild ranks, I press the buttons write the names and then when I press Accept… It just stands there for a few seconds, then kicks me out to the character selection screen. Trying to make a “Message of the day” Does not kick me, but does nothing else either… I did get it to work for a little while once, but it went straight back to “F*** YOU” mode after that.

We’re both on WiFi, this happens to me in WoW as well, a direct connect solved my issue. Basically, it’s settings within your computer rather than the router.

Maybe i got solution to this error. Im behind router and even after forwarding ports 80,443,6112,6600 I was getting error 1022:5:1:825:101. But try this:

1. Navigate to your Guild Wars 2 installation folder.
2. Right-click on “GW2.exe” and select “Create Shortcut.”
3. Rename this shortcut to “Guild Wars 2 Port Test.”
4. Right-click on this shortcut and select “Properties.”
5. Edit the “Target” line to include /clientport 80 at the end.
Note: Please make sure /clientport 80 is outside of the quotes
Correctly Formatted Example: “C:\Games\Guild Wars 2\GW2.exe” /clientport 80
Incorrectly Formatted Example: “C:\Games\Guild Wars 2\GW2.exe /clientport 80”
6. Once completed, click “Ok” to save your changes.
If you get an error trying to save, your target line may not have the correct format. Please try step 5 again.
7. Double click “Guild Wars 2 Port Test” and try connecting again.

I was able to play without this error from sunday-wednesday. Switching back to normal gw2.exe made error back in few minutes. Its strange that port forwarding didnt make any difrence.
So try forcing GW2 to run on 80 port.
Good luck
