Screen turns black and computer reboots...
A third party driver was identified as the probable root cause of this system error. It is suggested you look for an update for the following driver: nvlddmkm.sys (NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver, Version 327.23 , NVIDIA Corporation).
It seems to be right in your own log. Appears to be an outdated (or corrupted) driver file. Might be that the old driver still works for most games, just not for Guild Wars 2.
Try and update it and see if it helps. I’ve got my fingers crossed for you!
I have latest GPU driver… so i thing that could be problem so i tryid older GPU driver a still same problem… as i last thing i try reinstal whole system and instal GW on clean windows… and still got this problem…
I have a similar problem but my computer does not reboot mine just goes to a black screen i have done the Nvidia fix that they have uploaded for this problem but does not fix it i left the game for about 5 months in hopes of a fix but no this didn’t happen when i first bought the game.

Hi ,
I have the same problem as the op, on a GF680. Trying to fix the issue through Anet support, hopefully they will contact nvidia.

Also check for missing or update motherboard chipset drivers.

Hi Guys, I have also the same problem of black screen then PC rebooting.
I just recently changed my MB and CPU, and the rest of my hardware i tranferred (GPU, RAM, DVD burners, HDD). This is what I’m running:
Asus Z87-k
i7 4770
Ati Radeon HD 5670
8 Gb Ram @ 1333
I can play for 5 hrs and then boom it shuts down… CPU is not overheating ( max 62 degrees cel.) , GPU max was 56, MB was 28. So no overheating there. I thought the cause was the PSU so i changed it….still reboots….so its not the GPU nor the CPU nor the PSU…Checked Ram with Memtest…no errors found…. Updated all drivers, even the BIOS! Still it reboots!
Is there something I’m overlooking?
Could it be a defective MB? or simply GW2 doing all of this?
Thanks for your help!!!

Check you power supply it should be rated at least 700watts or more, even if it is rated at 700 or more some of the cheaper ones can’t handle the load for any period of time and will detect a thermal overload and stop working causing you PC to reboot. Also if your are running a prebuilt PC and you add a higher end graphics card most PC manufactures only put in the PSU that is rated for that configuration like 450 to 500watts. You may not experience any issues with you system until you run a high level game like GuildWars. There have been several post about replacing the PSU and that solved the problem. Good luck hope this helps.

Yes you could have a bad motherboard, a very common problem is popped or blown capacitors. Capacitors are small cylindrical components that have an aluminum canister housing with an "X,+ or K " grove mark in the top. Also there is a plastic sleeve around them that can be several different colors, the most common color is light blue. The grove marks in the top act as a pressure release valve, if a capacitor fails they have a tendency to explode, so the groves allow the aluminum to expand and bulge up. Look at all the capacitors on the board if any look like they are bulging up you may need to replace the whole board. Some people have replaced the bad capacitors with mixed results. You could try but you need very good soldering skills and the understanding of soldering on multi layered boards. This is why when buying a motherboard you want to get the ones with the good Japanese capacitors on it, not the ones from China.

Oh boy! I spy nvlddmkm.sys in here! I know all about this guy.
My two cents on this are to check all the above but then make sure you’ve removed all sound, graphic, and any others where you think NVidia or the like would use for better gaming results. Next turn Window’s Auto Update (Idk if Macs have anything like, but do the same as well) to Check for updates but let me choose when to download and install.
Then put everything back on yourself. All the drivers you took off. Clean installs, all of them. Worked for me because Windows was stupid and grabbed an incorrect driver update that was for a card with the right series but wrong architecture. It couldn’t interact with my sound card (because it was trying to be the sound card as well) and the 2 butted heads and caused a graphics driver crash. Fun stuff. Took a 2 clean reinstalls of my OS to figure that out. Haven’t had a problem since.
Same above holds true for ATI too.
