Guild Wars 2

Hiya everyone just purchased Guild Wars 2 and am currently downloading it now but a red message at the top of the login screen says my laptop does not meet the minimum specs because of it, Would this alone prevent me from playing Guild Wars because I am truly in love with it but haven’t had a change to download it because I am in the army so only get back now and again on the weekends, My computer Specs are

Most likely you are using integrated graphics and it is below the minimum requirement to run.

So am I not able to play the game in the lowest graphic settings? :O

Laptops are hard pressed to play games like GW2 at the best of times. If its a old or cheap laptop then it is likely you ether a) wont be able to even run it. or b) will be able to run it put it will perform horribly.

What CPU does ur laptop have ?
What GPU does it have ?

I know you put 2 cores ..but is it a 2 core 4 thread cpu (AKA have Hyperthreading) like an i3 or is it an old Core 2 Duo ?

Sorry not that good with computers how do I check how much CPU and GPU I have thanks in advance

Going via your OS (Windows) you can do the following.

Navigate to the ‘Control Panel’ ..usualy find it via the start menu
Then find the ‘System’ icon and open it.
This will give you a basic run down of your Processor, RAM, System type (32bit or 64bit) and a few other things.
For your GPU stay on the same window as above then navigate to Device Manager (left hand side of the window) that should open up another window.
Then double click on Display Adapter(or single click the little arrow/triangle next to it). it should open up and give you the name of the display adapter.

I think in this case your best bet is to use that laptop as a media laptop ..word processing ..SD videos ..browsing, and possibly play old games. it wont be able to handle new games and deffinatly not GW2.

You said ur in the army ..so is a Desktop computer out of the question ? If so then buying a new laptop to be able to Play GW2 respectably may be pricey .

Sorry to burst your bubble since you just bought this, but no chance. Best be buying a new desktop or laptop that can run it.
