Ok this is the best way i can describe really. Problem happens when there are too many sources of sounds in the environment it seems because it mostly happens in WvW in the heat of battle whit so many explosions and toons using skills around. Basicly all the sounds ingame are gone and i hear smt like sonar sound or you know when you plug in your electro guitar to the amplifier and open distortion it gives a sound like this. Happened 4 times now last couple of days and only way to reset GW2. No other problem with anything else in my computer and when that happens i can listen to anything else at that particular time. only the game sounds are affected…

Any chance for help??

never experienced this, but check your sound drivers and settings.

ok this time it made me crashed. here is the crash report

I crashed today twice while killing Jormag and NO chest for me . All my efforts wasted!

Seriously I’m getting very frustrated about it. It was quite ok for a while , but now suddenly everybody gets that damn sound bug + extra crash for me!

Known bug which still hasn’t been fixed since release, workaround usually is to move the sound notch one below maximum.

Yes,people saying they never experienced this sound bug are blatant liars.Its a well known issue,some reported that putting the sound quality to just below highest or medium can help,also changing the mixing buffer to stable.I also had this quite alot at jormag events or a heavy wvw zerg.

i only had it once
right after an update
and not since deleting local.dat
