Guild Wars 2

So I just started up GW2 after some time vacationing… Downloaded a sizable patch then it got down to 2KB and stopped downloading. It says: Downloading: 2KB – (0.00kb/sec) – Files Remaining: 1.

I’ve tried restarting computer, closing and re-opening GW2, restarting computer again, checking network status, and slamming my head repeatedly on my desk and still it’s the same thing.

What is wrong? I just want to play!

I believe there are a ton of other threads out discussing this problem already. You might want to check in those threads for solutions.

I have the same issue, it looks like people has solved it by waiting 10-50 minutes as they have claimed that the last file is “huge”.

A person on the Mac forums said they had this issue and he said “changing the language in the top right corner caused the whole patch to re-download and complete” he did note that Spanish did not work, but French did.

This may or may not work for you guys, but maybe if a dev sees it, it could help then to troubleshoot this issue.

Posting my fix anywhere and everywhere a thread is not closed:

If you’re stuck at 1 file left, 0.0kb/s downloading, and leaving the launcher running for hours does nothing, try this:

In the top-right corner, click one of the flags to change the language (I used German).

The launcher will re-start and (hopefully) begin downloading more. For me, it had some 10,000+ files yet to be downloaded, a few 100mb’s of stuff.

Once it’s done, switch back to English.

100% done, Play button is clickable.

Confirmed. Changing the language (to German) was the only fix for me. I attempted everything else and this was the only method that worked.

The switching languages tip from Taidel.6053 seems to have worked for me. Thanks Taidel.
