Hi,

i’ve this problem with my new wireless connection, i’ve already opened all the ports in the router and other games are working fine but not Gw2.
The problem persist if I close with alt+f4 and relog in the game, all the characters are stucked in loading screen.
If I change the connection with my old connection the problem is solved, then I think this is a configuration problem.

I’ve opened this ports: 80, 443, 6112, 6600

Someone can help me?

Like for half an hour, after i got kicked for zoning into Harati Hinterlands, i cant log in. Sometimes i even get a “failed to connect login server” after pressing the Login button. Strange thing is, 50% of the time i dont. Then sometimes i get to the point where it shows the map symbols on the bottom and then i get kicked, most of the time i dont even get there – then i get a strang error code: 5:11:3:157:101

Any ideas and response would be nice, i wanted to spend my friday evening/night with some GW2 addiction ~.~

/edit: ok while trying to look up the correct Error code it looks like it’s getting worse, 5 out of 6 attempts failed with an login server connection fail…

/edit2: I am not using a WLAN Connection but a wired one. As for the possibility that it is ISP based, i cant change to another to test that :/

Same here, I can’t login with any of my characters, and shutting down the game won’t fix it, disabling firewall neither. The loading screen appears then i can hear the background music after a while as if it was done loading but it still sticks on the loading screen. Internet connection is fine though.

A lot of people are having this problem. I have done everything to cure it from re-installing GW2 to updating NVIDIA and DirectX and half a dozen other things.

The only thing I have yet to try is updating the drivers on my motherboard, which I need a professional IT to lead me through that dark forest.

I can only offer 2 hopes. When GW2 does let you play, immediately switch to windowed full screen. You will still crash, but a lot less and recovery is a lot better.

Same problem here, i do login but when i choose one of my characters i got stuck at the loading screen of the map, even if i can hear the background sound (for example the wind).
Waiting for a solution.

Strange thing: It started with heavy lag, logged out and restarted Router and Pc then everything went as said in previous posts

Same as Deu, I was doing Claw of Jormag event and literally had 3 minutes lag spikes, so I logged out. But now I’m stuck at loading screen, while for other chars (one in the same area) works, although there is still a chance to get stuck with other zones too

With my guild we have ensured that everyone with a specific connection (Fastweb) cannot load the maps, then probably it’s not a gw2 problem but a connection related one

Can’t currently join any map since i’m stucking @ loading screen. Got some heavy lag before this happend.

Got (fasweb) too and get stuck on loading screen. this is pretty annoyng.
tryed all solutions.
1)shortcut with -repair
2)downloaded Guild Wars 2 Test (and everything was normal)
3)disabled firewall
4)downloaded latest NVIDIA drivers
5)went with wireless

everytime i restart the PC or client I am always stuck on this crappy loading screen.

Fastweb too, got same issues, tried all solutions.
Ping on teamspeak is normal.
Ping/Latency on every other games is normal.
Web latency is normal.
Even in-game chat has no delay/issues.

But

Skills have from 5-30seec delay.
Stuck in every loading screen.
After a while connection is lost or got some problem.

I think is something wrong with my provider or at least there is a huge problem server-side, since chat and other stuffs have no issues but skills and loading screen yes.

can someone confirm it’s a fastweb problem ?

I got fastweb too, i’ve always had heavy lag until i called them to change my setting to high priority ( in order to decrease ping) and it worked pretty well UNTIL today.

Now everytime i log in ( if i manage to ), i’m stuck with RIDICOLOUS lag ( no response from the server at all, till the unavoidable crash), ot with the endless loading screen if i’m not able to log in.

All people running fastweb in Italy have this problem.
Hope they fix.
Fastweb is one of the fiew high speed providers in Italy.
First tought was local only but till this morning all was running fine.
Seem people coming all over Italy have this problem.
Fastweb broadband does not run a static ip, I hope arenanot didnt blaock or slow all accounts without a static ip.
stil hope its a “fasweb” tempoary problem, BUT if it is not local I doubt that

same problem here and as i can see we are all from italy and with fastweb…. after i select any of my char the game start loading the zone and then or it crashes or it let me enter in the game but i can t do nothing and after a couple of minutes it crashes telling me that theres an issue with the connection server…

So what A-net saying about it.
By the way, many ppl outside Italy and without Fastweb getting same problem.

i have fastweb too, i’ve done everything i can, including game advisor test and ticket. waiting for some reply from anet.

Fastweb too, but the problem started only 3 hours ago, so i though to wait a couple of hours before trying again, same problem.

What happened?

do a test with http://us.ncsoft.com/gameadvisor and send results via ticket to anet.

i checked another game forum and found by chance that a lot of people with fastweb are having problems of latency and connection, seems like we all have a provider issue, not a game one.

i’ve called fastweb technical assistance, and they said there are no problems according to their tests.
They asked me to try again in the next few hours and then report any news to them: then they’ll start the the schedule for breakdown.

it seems there’s nothing to do for us, and it does seem a provider problem, at least for the majority.

If other countries/people with other providers are suffering from the same issues, it would be nice if they give us some feedback, in order to understand if it really is a fastweb/Italy problem or not.

If i try to log i get kicked out and then stuck on loading screen .

It’s a bit strange if ALL PROVIDERS start giving problem all at once.

if it was only fastweb, we could have thought it was due to the dynamic IP stuff, but since it’s happening with other providers too, i think it’s something worse.

Maybe it will be fixed soon, but if it isn’t, then there’s indeed a problem up here in Italy.

Same problem. Same country (Italy). Fastweb provider. Seafarer’s Rest server.

I think It happen only in defined location/map, creating new char let me in. My man (sparkfly fen) char won’t load.

same here, plains of ashford wont’d load, and once get in i have lot of lag. LA seems to be ok, same for citadel of flame.

Same problem for me (Italy/Fastweb). It started today. I logged in, did some stuff in LA, then when I went to Ashford it stopped working on loading screen. Can’t enter in Rata Sum with my alt.

Same here, from Italy, going with Fastweb, on Gunnar’s Hold server… All the day i got major lag spikes and disconnections every time i tried to teleport via waypoint… And now is not going over the freaking loading screen…

Tryed to call Fweb but with no clue…should be something related to our static IP.
For now no solution found…hope Anet can do something sbout it.

More likly there something going on with a specific backbone, ISP issue for good.

I have the same problem ( Fastweb ) but i, God knows why, can log in with my alt but not with my main that is stucked on Cursed Shore loading….

It’s duo the fact that each map is allocated through different virtual server, each map have it’s very own address and so, not all traffic are routed trough this kitteny pos that 89.97.200.253 is.

I’m Italian too and my provider is Fastweb. I have the same problem of these italian players, i had tried everything to fix the problem but still i can’t play. There is a lot of Lag and most of the time i get stuck into the loading screen

it seems a routing problem, since it differs from servers to servers ( if we account every map as different virtual servers).

it’s very annoying.

I’m with fastweb too and I have the same problem. How is it a fastweb related thing if some people with Wind have the same problem? It might be a Telecom problem since both Wind and Fastweb use Telecom Italia infrastructure.

But why did it happen? I mean, what changed in fastweb (or anet servers) that is breaking our connection? [I know that if you knew the answer that would be the end of the problem :P. It’s just to speculate…]

It’s not just a fastweb problem .
I got Wind Infostrada and have exactly the same issue as my girlfriend ( Fastweb ) but i have noticed not all infostrada users got lag , a friend of mine is playing without problems .

me and a guild mates both from ITALY with Fastweb provider got the same problem.
We are stuck at the loading screens.

I’m italian and i have fastweb fiber 100 mb…i’m able to log in the game but when i enter in a istance(CoF precisely) i have serious lag problem, i really can’t play…any suggestion or do we have to wait?

Issue is within fastweb infrastructure, there nothing Anet can do without changing their server address.

Issue will be either;
Unnoticed since let’s be real, ppl who work at fastweb are incapable to do the thing’s – dunno if you happen to ever see their catalyst.
Or
It will auto-solve once the HOP fry and decommission it’s self.

Also, to who have this issue do a tracert to 206.127.157.102
How: Open CMD and type: tracert 206.127.157.102

Do it few time and you’ll mostly like to notice which hop is the one causing the issue.
