Guild Wars 2

Hi,

had an annoying thing occur when cleaning out the harddrive from programs and games I no longer use, like the title says I was uninstalling Warcraft and in doing so also uninstalled Gw2.

I don’t fully know how but I assume they were somehow saved in in the same place and the uninstaller cleaned out all files there, it also tried uninstalling Rift but was blocked from doing so this got me thinking, if somehow Rift was protected from being uninstalled in this way then Gw2 should have it too.

I was unable to restore the game files so I’m downloading it again, it’s not the end of the world but I felt I should share it, perhaps someone more computer savvy than me could explain where I went wrong.

That, seems pretty strange (maybe Blizzard doesn’t want you playing a better MMORPG :p).

What uninstaller were you using exactly? I can’t imagine this occurring with Window’s Programs and Features (Vista+) manager, or with the game’s uninstaller.

Edit: Also to add, I did uninstall WoW earlier today, and GW2 was unaffected.

I used the uninstaller in the WoW folder, I can’t really figure out how this could happen but it almost feels like the WoW uninstaller acted like kitten virus I might even have cursed it for being that to myself once or twice :p

Anyways I do believe it must be my own fault by somehow saving the games in a stupid place on the harddrive without thinking of it but the reason I posted was mostly cause the uninstaller was somehow blocked from uninstalling Rift aswell and I’m wondering why this was so.
