Guild Wars 2

Hello everyone, I have just purchased the digital version of GW2 from the GW2 website and I’m now installing it to my laptop, currently it is at 370-400KB/sec and I’m now confused is there something I may have done wrong for this to happen?

Anyways some feedback or reassurance would be appreciated. For further notice, my laptop is a pretty average laptop, more on the fast side I’d think. I did do a test to see if my laptop would have trouble running the game and the test said that my computer would be fine doing so and rated it slanted on the “faster” side. So that’s sort of what fuels my confusion.

Uhh, somehow i do not think this will help my problem in the least bit.

I’ve noticed that too by the way. I was trying to download the game client a couple of days ago from scratch, and it’ll start with 7-8Mb/s, and within 2 minutes it’ll drop to 600kb/s. It’s ridiculous. I don’t know what’s going on honestly. That’s from 2-3 months. Before that, when I was downloading it, it was done in no more than 45 minutes, with a speed of 6-7Mb/s. Server pressure?

I know this is a pretty old topic, but I’d just like to add this for anyone else wondering the same thing.

You’re computer being able to run the game, and the game’s download speed are two completely different things. The download speed corresponds directly to how fast your internet is. 370-400 KB/s isn’t necessarily fast, but it’s respectable. If you pay for more, then I don’t know why it’s not downloading at a good rate. My internet speeds are supposed to be around 2.5 MB/s. The game starts at that, but then dips by about half.

Your computer being able to run the game well is just how well physically your computer can process the graphics of the game, and is in no way correlated to your internet.
