Guild Wars 2

Hello, I’m suffering from some framerate issues during most aspects of the game. In just regular pve I’m usually just 20-30 fps. This drops tremendously in rvr to a point where there’s no real point to trying.
So I’m hoping I can simply buy a new GPU perhaps to solve it. Help?

I would highly recommend you get an upgrade on your GPU.
Your current GPU has a 25.6 GB/Sec Memory Bandwidth, while the minimum requirement GPU has a 35.2 GB/Sec Memory Bandwidth (NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GS). The recommended GPU has a 57.728 GB/sec (NVIDIA GeForce GTS 450).
I just compared basic memory bandwidth between these three cards. And memory bandwidth is how fast your GPU can access memory, which is a significant factor in getting an increased FPS.
I couldn’t find the GW2 system requirements page anymore. So, I got minimum/recommended GPUs from Game-Debate, so I’m not sure how accurate they are.

What’s your budget? Also you might want to check your motherboard and Power supply.

My budget is somewhat limited at this point. I was really hoping I could drop 100 bucks or so on a new gpu and get a somewhat decent boost. I’m not a huge graphics junkie, I’d really just like to run the game on low-medium without any lag in rvr.

I looked up the recommended gpu soulrez posted on newegg and saw around that 100 dollar mark, should that suffice for what I’m aiming for?
