I have found all the parts I need to build a PC to play Guild Wars 2. I just need to make sure they are all compatible with each other. Here is the list:

Case: Cooler Master HAF 912 – Mid Tower Computer Case with High Airflow Design (RC-912-KKN1)

Motherboard: ASRock 880GM-LE FX AM3+ AMD 880G Micro ATX AMD Motherboard

Processor: AMD FX-4300 FX-Series Four-Core Processor Edition, Black AM3 FD4300WMHKBOX

Vid Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 660 SUPERCLOCKED 2048MB GDDR5 DVI HDMI DP Graphics Card 02G-P4-2662-KR

Power Supply: Cooler Master eXtreme Power Plus 500w Power Supply (RS500-PCARD3-US)

RAM: Corsair Vengeance 8 GB ( 2 × 4 GB ) DDR3 1600 MHz (PC3 12800) 240-Pin DDR3 Memory Kit for Core i3, i5, i7 and Platforms SDRAM CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9

Hard Drive: Western Digital Caviar Blue 500 GB SATA III 7200 RPM 16 MB Cache Bulk/OEM Desktop Hard Drive – WD5000AAKX

Would all this make a working machine?

Just had a quick google at your chip choice – reviews weren’t too favourable:

http://www.techradar.com/reviews/pc-mac/pc-components/processors/amd-fx-4300-1117775/review

Unless AMD do something really radical, I’ll be sticking with Intel.

One other thing, I would probably get a more powerful PSU if you can shell out the moolah.

Your choice of GPU seems a good one – Bit-tech likes it:

Lastly, rather than just one HDD, you could consider an SSD – game and zone load times would be quite reduced.

Overall, and this is just my opinion – others more tech-savvy may disagree – I think your proposed rig will work but you may find yourself ramping down the settings; most MMO’s are CPU bound so the more GHz you can get out of ’em, the better.

Hope that helped

The motherboard will probably need a BIOS flash to the latest P1.30

That is a very low quality power supply. 2X12V rails with 18 amps and only one 6 pin connector not even 80+ cert.
I hope this is not you and you are still going to buy a refurbished hard drive.

@zerk, so you suggest I change my PSU and hard drive? Well, I can see it with the PSU, but why the hard drive? Looks pretty good. An no, I’m not the person on that forums.

@zerk, All right, from what I’m looking at, the driver I chose is not refurbished, so that’s good.

Not knowing how much you are going to spend this is a really nice setup. All quality parts and would put the i5 3570 over the AMD 4300
