By work, I mean run Guild Wars 2 reasonably well as my current laptop won’t even download it. Trying to stay under the $400 mark and also be able to get it at a local store. This one comes up at $406 with tax so that’s definitely doable for me.

If You want a laptop for gw2 you need to spend at least 1000$ for a i7 CPU + 660m at least on board.

You will need a minimum of $1000/£1000 for a gaming laptop that can play GW2 ‘reasonably’. (Mix of Medium & High settings ..good fps in PvE, WvW possible but still sub 30 fps.)

Are you kidding me! I looked up the stuff and it said i would get 20-30 fps with that computer :\

You need something with at least a score of 2000 on the Single-Thread chart to participate in Wv3 decently.

The only places you’d find a laptop with an Intel Core i7-3920XM are custom online places like dell’s alienware configurator, cyberpower, sager, ibuypower, originpc and any of the manufacturer websites that allow customizations. Newegg USED to have one, but it’s discontinued:

Lenovo’s is probably going to be the cheapest of the bunch even though it has a Professional-Grade NVIDIA GPU in it.

Personaly i wouldnt look for a XM chip like the 3920XM, they r intels i7 Extreme series for laptops, they cost way to much..
A 3840/3820/3740/3720 QM would be the best you could choose.. with the 3630QM being the lowest i would go to but also the most popular in gaming laptops atm Unless u have money to burn on a $800 XM series mobile chip.

funny, my laptop has a brand new intel core i3 and runs GW2 without any problems. it’s not exactly a high end thing, but i can manage GW2 quite easily.

as you can see not exactly top of the line material, it only cost me a mere 600.

For PVE content that is fine, but what the others are talking about is WvW/Heavy events, conditions where the CPU just can’t handle it well. So for people who only PVE then you can get by with less.
