I feel like I have wasted 60.00 because this game crashes constantly for me, I have changed the video settings like is recommended in the sticky, but yet to no avail ( which I don’t know why I should have to lower my settings as my rig is better then whatever this game can throw at it…and yes Far Cry 3 on max settings, as well as BF3, WoW(sure not the best example) ) but yet this game constantly crashes, oh yeah and the verifying files thing is becoming a pain in the butt. well off to play Far Cry 3 since it don’t crash.

Hi there Telekalos – Unfortunately the crash report didn’t tell me much as far as this crash is concerned. That being said we’ll need to see a bit more diagnostic information before we can come to any sort of conclusion. I’d like to collect a Game Advisor report so I can look into why you might be experiencing this crash. You can download the Game Advisor application at the link below:

http://us.ncsoft.com/gameadvisor/

Please note that you will be automatically prompted to install Game Advisor upon clicking the link.

You can either attach the report to the thread, or you can create a support ticket and attach it to your ticket. If you decide to create a support ticket, could you please reply back with the ticket number so that I can further investigate this issue for you?

Define crash!! (1) Is the GW2 client freezing and unresponsive? (2) Is it just closing and spitting an EXE error at you? (3) Is it losing net connection?

1 = It dont like your pc being overclocked ( been proven by me and many more that removing any OC as solved this) Weird i know..

2 = Repair your install

I am having a similar issue. So I thought if I tried to update all my drivers and system it would fix the problem. It seems to have made the problem worst, because I cant even launch the game now. It wont even let me uninstall the game to re-download the game. Before I attempted to fix the problem, the game would constantly crash in random spots. I would always run the repair and it would sometimes crash during the repair. Any help would be great.

@Telekalos, couple more quick questions..
I looked at your gw2 Test txt..

(1) What PSU + wattage you using?
(2) you have multiple HD’s, is GW2 Installed on the same HD as OS or a storage one?
(3) What GPU settings have you got set for GW2
Anti- Aliasing =
Render sampling =
Shadow =
Shader =
Post – processing =

not trying to sound like a jerk but it is not my hardware , I have over 90 games on steam that run with no problem with my current hardware setup. but to satisfy your desire to help.
800w Thermaltake psu
yes on same HD as the OS
video settings-
fxaa
native
medium
high
high

and please don’t take my tone(if that’s possible with typed words) as disdain towards you, it is at this game (which I am sure since I started it up will crash very shortly) I start it up and seems like every time there is a download I have to do, I start to play with my friends and crashes happen, and it is just frustrating to know that I cannot return it and get my money back for a game that has caused a bunch of hassle.

Dont worry about it im not easily offended!!

OK all the settings seem fine.. i got a few more things for you to try..

To rule out any internet trouble

(1) open cmd prompt & type
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
Then
netsh winsock reset catalog
netsh int ip reset reset.log hit
then reboot pc > Play game untill it crashes (need to rule out each step)

(2) Check what driver Version your on, 12.10 is newest, 12.11 is in beta (still worth a try) 12.9 has known to have great success amongst GW2 community

Based on what i know im pretty sure it could be a driver issue you have. Try 12.11 + 12.9 after installing drivers reboot pc > Play game until it crashes..

(3) Right click GW2 icon & Run as administrator
Play game until it crashes & the second it crashes log the time it crashed..
Go to start menu search bar & type event viewer
Look in the Box labeled Summary of administrative events
Look under “event type” & expand “critical”
Under “source” tab your looking for Gw2.exe
If thats not there & Highlight “critical” (single click on the word will suffice)
In far right window pane click " view all instances of this event"
That will open up another page Now check the time and date to correspond with
the exact time gw2 crashed make a log of the level, date+ time, source and event
ID. EXAMPLE Critical 29/12/2012 17:21:56 DriverFrameworks-UserMode 10111 User-mode Driver problems.

That should ultimately tell you the source and then work out the cause of the crash..
Feel free to post the results here and ill try help.

My recommendation is do all 3 steps.. BUT reboot pc load game and play for a bit until it crashes AFTER each step. Dont do all 3 without trying the game after each step because i would like to identify the problem and help others..

Ok thanks.. i see your not OC’ed either.. Can you take the same steps as my post above and report back please..

Also id appreciate it if someone else could assist with these common issues as i have very limited time now because my wife is expecting her first child, and she requires 90% of my attention..

I will still pop in from time to time to see the progress..

Good luck and happy gaming..

I think it is kinda funny how Mrs Ashley Segovia suddenly disappears after you sent the Game Advisor file. Just like in my thread: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/tech/Client-crashes-continously-at-random-times/first#post1083997

Cheers and good luck

I see you have a nvidia, try to disable physx. I know that GW2 don’t really like that kind of rubbish driver. (Reason why I picked an ATI card instead of an Nvidia)

Here is my file so you can compare a little. My game works perfect with all graphics at the maximum.

technically what should happen

Your playing game > it crashes > windows should pick up on that error > and thats where you should find it.

But if your having trouble loading game at all check your firewall and ports

Yea kinda annoying BUT from what i understand based on reading from other threads they are very busy and understaffed.

To be honest there are probably more geniuses and technical minded people playing the game that can fault find and assist quicker than Anet could..

Having said that though, Having geat knowledge comes great lazyness some people dont look at dev trackers or tech support threads because they aint having the problems. I only stumbled upon this thread while browsing trackers and thought id try help.
