I have 2 new, identical, computers that more than meet the gw2 systems requirements for game play. One computer is a year old and the other I just got a few weeks ago. They both have the same processor and everything. The older computer never crashes but my identical newer computer crashes about every 30 mins. or so. I have tried turning off the gw2.exe from DEP but it won’t let me and the other computer is set up the same way but no problems with it. I have tried changing the Ethernet cables around, plugging them into different ports on my router, which is a gaming router and I have used for about 4 years now, but no fix. I have bypassed the router all together and plugging the computer straight into the modem but no fix. I have tried a few different things and it is not helping. If anyone has a solution to this please let me know.

The game crashes due to an out of memory error.
Please post your system specs or the whole crashlog which you can find here:

Yeah, I see now that it is the memory.

You’re running out of memory. The best option is to upgrade to a 64 bit OS. You can also try lowering your graphics settings.

It’s also a good idea to disable unneeded programs from running in the background:

The minimum system requirement on RAM for gw2, I think, is 2GB, I am running 4GB. Could I just buy more RAM, maybe up to 8GB, and still run the 32 bit OS to fix the problem?

No. A 32 bit Windows OS cannot use more than about 3.3 Gig of RAM (except for certain server versions). That is a limitation of the kernal and why I recommended switching to a 64 bit OS.

RAM beyond about 3.3 Gig on 32 bit Windows is never utilized.

32-Bit Windows can especially not handle more than 2 GB for one program and since
there is also some overhead for system access in the end its mostly around 1.5-1.7 GB
where the program runs OOM.

A 32-bit program on 64-bit windows can at least handle 4 GB (effective 3.5-3.7) when
compiled with large address aware.

Ok Thanks for all the help. I am currently ordering windows 7-64 bit and gonna add 8GB of ram too, to my system. I was watching the RAM usage during game play and it was going through the roof. Never thought about it being the 32 bit OS I was using but It is. My other computer has the 64 bit in it and no problems. Just never connected the two. Thx again all.

If your 32-Bit Win7 is from Microsoft, and not an OEM Version, you can install the
64-Bit version with the same key.

If your 32-Bit Win7 is from Microsoft, and not an OEM Version, you can install the
64-Bit version with the same key.

Even if its OEM, the Windows 7 Key is 32bit and 64bit. he only needs to download the correct ISO to install and use the existing key.

No need to buy the OS again.
