Hi guys i changed pc now i have this configuration:(gb ram kingstone 1600 mhz, amd fx 9370 4 ghz, sapphire radeon hd 7970 3gb ddr5, GA 970a ud3.
The pc before was a laptop and i hadn’t lag problem, now i have skill lag but fps are still hig, i have this problem only with gw2.. Have the same internet connection though.

What antivirus are you using, if it’s anything but Windows Security Essentials get rid of it. Is the new PC one you built or is it a prebuilt PC if it’s a prebuilt PC you might want to reinstall windows and get rid of all the craptastic software and apps that are running in the background that the PC manufacturers put on PCs these days, that they think you need, that bogs down your system. You will need a Windows DVD to do this not the restore DVDs that came with it or the one you may have created for the restore option built into the PC this just puts all the crap back the PC. If your new PC has Windows 8 on it good luck Windows 8 sucks for gaming. Also check for driver updates.

You NEED to be using an Antivirus program

Download Avast! Free, and run a full system scan.

Download Malwarebytes, and run a full system scan.

that is the first thing you need to do. The internet is too volatile to be running unprotected.

Just use Security essentials must third party antivirus sucks any more and slows down your system. For the average user it’s all you need. I have been using it since beta and no viruses no issues with the game and it at all.

Security essential is the WORST AV solution because it offers no Self Protection. Any malware/root kit can get in and Kill/disable Security Essentials with out the user knowing.

Avast! is the best currently, it combines malware/rootkit into its AV Engine, and has one of the smallest FREE AV Memory foot prints on the market.

used avast no virus but still game lag don’t know what to do , i downloaded razer game boost, tried to run gw2 with windows xp service pac 2 but still lag… i have 45 ping and no packet loss.
Im runnning gw2 on a samsung 840 ssd could it be a problem?

I think its the GW2 servers, in all reality. I had 5 disconnections last night while doing the Queensdale Champ train. And when I was not being disconnected, there were large server lag spikes when a lot was happening (combat with all the other players in the area).

You can try a different server to see if that helps, But I think there is an ISP issue in between us and ArenaNet again (AT&T I am Looking at you, again).

the problem is that i lag doing anything in all maps with all character and i see other players teleporting but i have normal ping/fps so i don’t know what to do i also tryed repair files…
And most of my friend ( one lives near me) don’t lag .
