problem WINDOWS 8
Post system specs.
I suspect you are using the WDDM driver that came with Windows 8 for your graphics card. These drivers are crap and you should install the latest version from your video card manufacturer.

If he is having an issue he is describing, that sounds more like a network issue. When you preform a task (click a skill) and it takes a second or two for the action to actually happen, then that speaks of a network latency issue. Chael, if this is happening with pretty much anything you do then I would check into your network setup with the new computer. Is this a laptop? I have a feeling this is a laptop.
If it is, are you using wireless? If so, try connecting the laptop directly to your home router via cat5 cable, turn off wireless and see if you get the same issues.
it is a desktop i use it in wireless and i try it in ethernet nothing change . i try to upgrade the driver of my video card but win8 say is the last version. is not a network problem because i use another pc and everything is good
Your Windows 8 is probably updating in the background, check your Task Manager and look at our Wifi graph.
Not saying it’s a network issue with your router, but that still doesn’t mean it’s not something network related to that computer. The issues you are describing are typically related to network issues, latency. Be it on your end or server side. You could also try the following steps and post the results here. This would give you a better idea if it is a network issue or not.
1. Navigate to your Guild Wars 2 folder.
2. Right-click on “GW2.exe” and select “Create Shortcut.”
3. Right-click on “GW2.exe – Shortcut” and select “Rename.”
4. Rename this file to “Guild Wars 2 Diagnostic.”
5. Right-click on “Guild Wars 2 Diagnostic” and select “Properties.”
6. Locate the “Target” line and add the following to the end " -diag"
Your target line should look like this: “C:\Gamse\Guild Wars 2\GW2.exe” -diag
7. Click “Ok” to save your changes.
8. Double click “Guild Wars 2 Diagnostic” to start the test.
Once completed, please click “View Results” and save the results to a text file on your desktop. Once saved, please attach that to the thread for review.
this is the results
let me know what is the problem please

I have run in to an FPS problem now after installing Windows 8.
First, my specs:
Core i5-3450 Ivy Bridge
Asus NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 2GB GDDR5
Kingston HyperX 8GB
before win8, in win7 i got 140 FPS but i limited it to 60 so i won’t cook my GPU. Everything was fine, 62-64FPS. Now after installing Win8 and installing the NVIDIA GPU drivers again, i get 124 unlimited BUT when i limit it to the 60 FPS setting in game, i get 32 FPS. Can someone tell me what is happening? For some reason the game is limiting the FPS too much.
check nvidia control panel and make sure ur not on half adaptive vsync
Also turn on triple buffering..without it vsync can cause fps to drop significantly when below 60fps.

Chael, I’m seeing significant packet loss coming across your ISP. I would contact them and forward this file to them. You shouldn’t be getting packet loss like this. It would explain the latency.
i not understand this packet lost you see not give problem in the pc with win 7 why?
Not sure. But your are definitely getting packet loss across your ISP right off the bat on the first hop and just about every hop afterwards. That is not good especially for MMO’s. I would make sure you have all the latest drivers for all your hardware if this is a new system, especially your NIC.
You could also run this diagnostic on your other system not having the issue and post that here as well. Then I could compare the two.
i not understand this packet lost you see not give problem in the pc with win 7 why?
Just take his advice and call your ISP if you want your problem resolved, dont be so defensive, you come here to get help…he’s giving you help..I think he’s right about your isp.
hello, I have the same problem and the problem is that windows 8 is not supported by guild wars 2 yet!
Also, please go to directly to nVidia’s website to download the latest Windows 8 drivers to make sure you have the latest. Version 306.97 are the latest certified drivers and there is also newer BETA drivers you can also try, version 310.33.
