unplayable after changing graphic card
First of all, try this:
1. Delete the “Local.dat” located in “Documents\Guild Wars 2”
2. Create or edit a Guild Wars 2 shortcut and add the “-repair” parameter (without the quotes)
3. Open this shortcut and let the repair work through
4. Start normal Client and check if it works better now.
done, still the same
Did you place the new card in the same slot as the old?
Have you confirmed that the card is using x16 PCIe lane? You can use a tool like GPU-Z to check that.
nope, i placed it in a slot bellow since its too long for the upper one. its the same PCI-E 2.0 so i cannot see how that can be relavant
Check that what XcomCaveRat said. Download CPU-Z and check there if it’s running on x16. Not every PCIe-Slot runs with x16.
slot matters, most motherboard have 2nd/3rd PCI-E x16 slot reserved for SLI/triple SLI/ CrossFire cards at narrower lanes (@x8 mode or even x4).
check your manual.

I have HD 7850 and got about a same problem as u , I guees it´s some incompatibility with HD 7xxx series or something like that .
And I also have it in second slot cause upper one is not responding , dunno why si that , but markings next to 2nd slot clearly says : PCIE x16_2 . So bacialy it is the same one and If there would be issue with it , it would have shown in other games IMO since I´m able to get 60+ FPS on Battlfield 3 I can state that this shouldn´t be the problem causing this .
But people are having problems even with Nvidia GPUs so the issues is still unknown till techies from Anet wont give us statement what´s going on since there´s no solution out yet and all theese suggestions from players are only subjective .

seems like that gpu-z is reporting that gpu is running on x4 PCIe. now ill try to hammer pc a bit to make more room….
Some board won’t even boot without a GPU on the primary PCI-E slot.

It happend what we all thought: Wrong PCIe-Slot. Good luck, sir! :-)

I think it’s the boot up process that only check the primary slot, not the secondary. BIOS found not GPU. No booting for you.
