will this patch work on Guildwars 2 ?
this seems pretty cool, thanks for posting this, I might give it a try for other games, but I’ve never had a ram issue with gw2, uses slightly under 2gb when I check task manager
You could always make a backup of the core game file so you don’t have to redownload all of it.
hrmm, that’s a great idea …glad I thought of it! ..lol.. thank you for the suggestion!!
I thought maybe if this works, it will help people having issues (like myself ) and maybe help anet by giving gw2 more space to breathe.
-fingers crossed-
I highly doubt this will work to make GW2 large address aware.
The reason is that GW2 isn’t using a separate executable file. The entire game is in one large file and individual (needed) files get extracted and decompressed in RAM.
It’s likely that using this patcher will break the game. If there’s a CRC check it will fail after modification.
Edited to add: GW2 is probably already large address aware (one would hope so, anyway).

It successfully applies and does not destroy the game.
However, it does not increase memory usage. The game is still using only 1.2GB of RAM at most on a 16GB system.

have you noticed any performance change in the game ? I wonder if it will make a difference over time. I still haven’t tried it yet, waiting to see if Anet has any comment on it.
Is this even legal? Only glanced at it for a bit but seems to me like it directly modifies something in the gw2.exe which we’re not really allowed to do I think.

There was no noticeable performance increase. So I would say no.
