Our EB is sometimes a Karma train that runs from fights sometimes strategic play. Sometimes good at open field fights sometimes not. It all depends on who was commanding.

We appreciate the constructive criticism however the trash talk is not welcome.

Bannock has a lot of respect from our server as a whole. However he has to work with what he is dealt. There was quite a few on TS however if you said there was 60 I can guarantee you the majority of them were not on Teamspeak. Whenever you see numbers of those sizes the majority of them are not on teamspeak. The same can be said for most servers.

What I saw happening is instead of taking your bait to have all of our core WvW players run EB the core WvW players joined Yulos training event that was scheduled that night.

When I was playing from about 7pm MST to 12PM MST I saw the Guilds that play WvW often stay our of our EB they were fighting elsewhere. Oh and if you were all in EB and don’t have strong numbers how come you had enough numbers to hold our SW tower for a bit that we were only able to take back after it was trebed it to death.

Also BP please remember to be respectful in your criticism.

I was a bit disappointed to wake up and have it gone after so long, but a little relieved since I would have spent another day running around helping to keep siege refreshed, upgrading redlake and escorting yaks around. BS had it claimed, which gave me (and others, I’m sure) a little extra motivation to watch over it. We joked about it being our guild hall (seriously, when are we going to get some guild halls) but there was a lot of guilds that helped out.

Anyways, It has been a fun week for me and I look forward to seeing both SBI and AR in future matchups.

See that is exactly what I don’t get about the chest thumping forum warriors. They are quick to say ha ha we wiped. But they fail to mention that they also got wiped. In open field without a deathmatch score it is impossible to tell if one side is really better than the other. Even then it will require a few matches for it to be statistically significant.

I am excited when they come out with custom Arena’s then I can tell all those asking for “Fight Club” to go fight it out in a Custom Arena where it belongs and actually means something.

Oh you know when you’re better in open field. You know.

It’s a coverage game, and always will be a coverage game.

When you know you are better in the open field you don’t have to have multiple people from you’re server post about it repeatedly. Trying to prove it to themselves and everyone else.

Its like BP has never tasted a points victory and when they do they go running around screaming like a bunch of kids, who don’t understand how you act and treat you’re opponents on the field is just as important.

So I think most of the people who go onto EB are looking to win, and they don’t really care about the points. They are just looking for good fights that they know they can win.

Personally, I’ll take a lost battle and a won war anytime. I will repeatedly wipe if I can keep an opponent occupied while my team takes a more important objective.

Ok perhaps your groups are the exception to the rule because they are not just pure zerg trains. Strategy is deeply involved. Also sometimes Bannock’s zergs when the zerg listens.

And what’s with SBI’s 80’s ganking uplevels? Never have I seen so much of that from a server (not even Ebay….they at least had the decency to just ignore them and let them reach a tower/keep). And by ganking I mean waiting around by our spawn and when an uplevel tries to get anywhere, one of your 80’s jumps them from behind and spikes them in about 3 seconds. We need more players to come to WvW and that lame BS is just going to send them back to PvE. If you want badges that badly, at least man-up and jump 80’s when you spawn camp.

Looking forward to reset. Not sure how we keep getting stuck with servers like Ebay, BP, and now SBI, but maybe we’ll get a decent roll today…..

I take from your comments you are in AR. If you are fighting in the enemy borderlands you are dead regardless if you are a uplevel or not. Why? because of how the game is currently played at lower ranks borderlands matter more to keep it all. In EB the 1/3 matter most. I highly doubt that they were targeting the uplevels. I honestly don’t notice uplevels unless they are in my party. Also keep in mind that until just yesterday we were behind you in score.

As for the “We don’t have the numbers” What we mean is we don’t have the organized numbers. We have plenty of numbers but not many on our teamspeak.

We are a PvE server…. Well we are. Take a look at what happened to us last match when you fought us and the dragon bash rolled out. We lost a lot of stuff. Almost everything. It took a organized sustained effort to not only pick ourselves backup to win the match.

“We don’t care about the store”… Some of us do some of us don’t.

Anyway, yes, it’s PvP. We all get that. But with other servers there has been an etiquette that 80’s don’t target solo uplevels for “easy kills”. That’s just lame.

As for the score our server is concentrated very hard at the moment to make sure we keep our lead against AR. Part of this tactic is deny entry into a area that we are attacking. Sometimes that means that spawn camps must happen. This is not nearly bad as we winning by a wide margin have the entire map and still insist on spawn camping.

Unless it was a larger group than 2-5 I would say it was just a troll being a troll ignore them. Or they did not realise it was a downlevel player. I honestly have killed many and I never notice if they are downlevel or uplevel.

There is no way the general server community can control every player on the server. I apologize for the random’s rudeness if the player was indeed targeted and singled out.

If you’re going to WvW and complaining about getting ganked as a lowbie, you’re going to have a bad time.

When I bring my lowbies to WvW, I welcome the 1v1 fights because at least you are getting experience PvPing with your class and figuring out how to play it for 1v1s. You’ll likely lose most of the fights before level 60 but I know I enjoy them at least, especially if I can give the enemy a good fight. If you’re going to WvW with any of your characters, I’m not sure why you are complaining about getting into fights, isn’t that why you are there?

And if they are spawn camping you, then they’re likely bad apples, every server has them. Just go out a different entrance or go to a different map. They’ll leave if they aren’t getting any fights.

Yea it’s all a bit silly. I mean when asked about why no roamers or looking for wvw guilds to fight it makes sense to answer that we don’t have any wvw guilds. But some of the trash talking and excuse making is just pathetic on our end just because a few kids from the other server want to stroke their egos. Nothing against BP and AR; your tactics are superior and your movements more fluid though it’s pretty sad how some are taking credit for their whole server’s efforts and projecting it by taking screenshots of killing unwary pugs. But this is true of any matchup, most likely. I mean please lol, who hasn’t gotten hundreds of badges this week? Overall, I would say this thread just makes everyone look bad, and the real winners are whoever else is reading.

We’re talking in response to things said by the forum trolls. One of AR said something like “haha you can’t cap any of our keeps” so we showed him.

One of SBI said “haha try to roll our EB zerg it’s too good” so we did that and showed him how terrible their Eternal zerg is.

We’re nowhere close to Ego bay, they outnumbered us all the time and they called us bad.. we don’t do that. When we capped all of AR BL twice I don’t remember anyone coming on the forums chest thumping or calling you guys bad. It was on your off time so there’s really nothing to be proud of.

In Eternal, we had even numbers with SBI so we can say what we want.

I was in EB from 10pm to Midnight e.s.t. last night and didn’t see much cause for BP chest thumping. Maybe I missed it?

the problem here is that some of the things that people claim to be zoom hacks are really just people using windowed mode, or multiple monitors. there are certain places where a very wide aspect ratio can let you see (and target) extra stuff. but there are other places where it doesn’t, and if you don’t know the difference it leads to useless reports that will do nothing.

when I see a screenshot or a video showing alleged zoom hacking, I try to go there myself and see if I can get the same result just using windowed mode. the major WvW guilds on EBay have said they’re against hacks, and it’s important for our own internal policing efforts to be aware of which spots involve hacks, and which ones don’t.

Any bragging that occurs is hot air. The bottom line is numbers make all the difference in this game. One person can’t do it all. There’s no way to prove what server has the most skilled players, and even if you could all that would do is prove my point. If the WvW populations were even scores would be closer.

I find it intriguing the boasting occurring for any given server. It’s a server. It’s not a real locale. You’re just playing your characters on hosting hardware with some made-up name.

Any insults flying should be taken with a grain salt. The insult is emanating from a(n) source of insecurity/ego.

Just be sure to know that most of us on BP are the same as most of you on alternate servers. We’re just here playing a game trying to have fun while doing that.

Agreed, and that’s what I told the newbs, and showed them the routes. It’s just that once or twice in a week I can understand, but this is the first time I encountered it 3x in a 4hr span and have seen it more from SBI this last week than any of the other servers we’ve faced.

It just seems odd, again, in that SBI seems to have 2 very distinct “personalities”. Last week when matched w/ us and IoJ, I saw very little of these “bad apples”. This week? Oy. Maybe they got some transfers that they need to throw back, LOL.

And anzenketh.3759, please don’t apologize for what others are doing. Everything I see from you has been very respectful and classy. As you say, you can’t control what some on your server may be doing. What I would ask though is if you have any influence on your server population, please ask them to stop spawn camping uplevels. You know there were plenty of us that complemented your server for your tactics. Apprceated your critisim and help for giving us a swift kick on the rear helping us become a better server. You don’t need to come in here and roll it in our faces that you wiped us once or twice in EB. We probibly wiped you once twice maybe more maybe less that same night. Believe it or not the game already has a mecanic that will tell us how good you are. It is called your ranking. If you shoot a lot higher then us in ranking like CD is much higher now. That means one of three things.

A) You have superior coverage.
B) You have more WvW guilds so you can apply C more efficently.
C) You have superior tatics.

In the majority of cases it is A in some it is B.

Whichever one is which I don’t care.

A.) Our server was a Tier 1 server we won Tier 1 quite a few times. (Sadly some of the reason for this no longer exists on this server. ) Some of the reasons still exist as some of those players that staid past the mass exodus still are on the server. They share their knowlage with our server and we are re-building ourselfs. Sadly we were caught so long in loosing spiral we did not have much need to get our act back into gear.

B) Reason A exists. Even if it is C there is no way to tell for sure as they no longer publish the population numbers.

Most of us rather play it classy. Please stop the trolling. I liked AR and IOJ thread much better.

@Brindled Yes I know and yes I was referring to other servers. I know your server is just like any old server.

@Thorson that is exactly why you can not judge the actions of a server by a few. Our server has absolutly no hierarchy and nowhere near that level of communication WvW population wide especially in EB. It is more then likely they have never been on our forums or teamspeak. Sadly I have vary little say on our server. I am just a really sqeeky wheel.

We went to eternal specifically to show your server that eternal isn’t everything, we wanted to shut your eternal crew up, they got really kitteny for the whole week. We wiped you guys many more times once I was there, until u capped SM, we only wanted open field and not to fight in your SM choke but we got forced to u guys defended that SM nicely though, but in the open field before SM, we had you. And I wouldn’t expect any less, we peaked at 75 in teamspeak in eternal (was average around 65 before u got SM) I wouldn’t expect a mostly put Zerg to wipe us with that many in teamspeak. Like I said, we went to eternal to exhaust your chest thumping all week for your eternal crew, we have the right to chest pump for a day for destroying your eternal Zerg :p

In all seriousness keep an eye on when the videos are posted on Borlis.org, use it as a learning tool to maybe try new things, or something to strive for. I am hoping the ts voice is implemented in the video as well. I am not saying this to brag, I am saying this to raise the skill level in your server. Copy paste the video on your forums if you feel it’s useful.

Our focus last night was to wipe Zergs not towers/keeps, unlike the rest of the week.

When we focused on eternal, our PPT was 200-240, when we focused on the BL with the same numbers, our PPT was 300-400 during prime time even, change up your focus in SBI, and work on expanding your teamspeak, it really does make a difference

Find a way to get all of your guilds to transfer to your centralized teamspeak is he first step. It took months to get all the guilds to get to ours, our old teamspeak was pathetic, we made a new teamspeak and catered it to fit the guilds needs, and they all joined the new teamspeak immediately. We are fortunate to have such high numbers in our teamspeak, it’s safe to say we get 80-90% of our numbers in wvw inside our teamspeak, I can almost guarantee that’s higher then any server out there

We’re nowhere close to Ego bay, they outnumbered us all the time and they called us bad.. we don’t do that.

But seriously people……if you don’t understand how the perception of what is happening is greatly effected by one’s perspective ..then you don’t understand human nature.

There are mindless karma train zergs running from ALL servers…..there are times where organized and coordinated guild groups from ALL servers have wiped much larger groups…normally the above mentioned karma trains…lol.

There are good and bad(or just new and learning) players on ALL servers and in ALL zergs.

As a member of SBI I know we need a lot more training in general as we are more a PvE server than WvW. But we still have many very good WvW players and when we have those players in groups on TS and coordinating we can be very dominating . Depending on the type of zerg we encounter. I have been in groups where we have suckered in zergs 3 times our size and using good tactics completely wiped them and then went back to pick up a never ending string of bags that was awesome to behold…Wish I had screen shot some of those now.

And I have seen our zerg wiped as well and am sure I have left many tasty goody bags too….I know I have never dropped a precursor however…because I now believe they do not exist as a drop at all….after all the bags I have opened on my way to 20k WvW kills.. =(

Summary….yes SBI has a lot to learn if we are ever going to be a really good WvW server again….one of those things is to have more of us venture out of EB more often….and treat SM as the soul trapping, point sucking, promise breaking Kitten it is…

Oh…and saying a screen shot(one small fraction of an instance in time) is the ultimate proof of an ongoing situation is just delusional….sorry =)

@DtC That would be the correct way to give feedback. Thank you for the constructive criticism those that use it will those that don’t well we can’t control anyone. A lot of our players don’t have teamspeak or even know what it is. Our server is growing our server is learning. I am excited to see what we do with it.

Now you know what SBI means by “open field” combat. Waiting around for a level 50 to appear, kill him, then run like hell when BP/AR even numbers appear.

I wish Anet would just release population stats already and solve all of this “you have more numbers” bs.

To SBI, why would I be angry. BP won. Did you read the chat from my screen shots. The thing about my server is we have fun, and we still win. I guess that’s what happens when you are on a server with people that have skill. You get to have your cake and eat it too.

Please note I have not said I am one of those with skill, but BP has got some really good players on it. I sometimes get just lost watching those guys play in the smaller numbers.

Imagine us being stuck with both EgoBay AND BP for 13 weeks!!! 3 full months of this. It was so bad for the least few weeks of the matchup many folks just refused to WvW. Between the antics in-game and the endless “we’re so good, you’re so bad….RAWRRRR!!!!!” BS on the forums, boards, videos, you name it, basically everywhere these guys could post, PvE was a more attractive option. Thanks for the EB fights last night, BP. I have to agree with Maladon, though, on not seeing the reason for so much boasting. For the 2-3 hours I was on, you wiped us twice that I saw (dredge and AR keep, grats!) and you got wiped or left a whole bunch to die 8ish times (couple at JS, once at RQ, several in/around SM); my kill counter is ~1000 higher than when I checked it a couple days ago, if that’s worth anything. Of course, I can’t speak to anything that happened before I logged on.

Constructive criticism: your might stacked portal bombs and veil rushes are fancy and sorta intimidating, but also kind of silly. This is entirely subjective, but you seemed to lose as many people on those push+leave passes as you killed. A warding or two on the portal and your squishies get isolated from your frontliners, a good chunk of those squishies then getting squished because you guys leave them behind. The pushes seemed mostly designed to give kills to your frontliners while leaving everyone else to fend for themselves. I’m no expert, but you can clearly organize so maybe you can find a better way to go about it without losing so many people.

Also, a question: what was going on when you were on the hill north of SM later in the evening for what felt like 5 minutes? We switched to a commander I didn’t recognize, he was all ‘push’ and I was thinking ‘but there are so many up there.. well, okay’ and you guys just sorta took it until you all fell off the back or died. It didn’t feel right.

I really wanted to like SBI…….

All the talk about “we don’t have the numbers”, “we’re a PvE server”, “we don’t care about score”, etc etc, yet last night you fielded 4x our numbers and focused on our BL as well as our assets in EB. In the 4hrs I played yesterday evening, we were outmanned the entire time and the only zergball I encountered attacking our stuff was SBI. Interesting for a server that doesn’t care about score and doesn’t “have the numbers”.

And what’s with SBI’s 80’s ganking uplevels? Never have I seen so much of that from a server (not even Ebay….they at least had the decency to just ignore them and let them reach a tower/keep). And by ganking I mean waiting around by our spawn and when an uplevel tries to get anywhere, one of your 80’s jumps them from behind and spikes them in about 3 seconds. We need more players to come to WvW and that lame BS is just going to send them back to PvE. If you want badges that badly, at least man-up and jump 80’s when you spawn camp.

Looking forward to reset. Not sure how we keep getting stuck with servers like Ebay, BP, and now SBI, but maybe we’ll get a decent roll today…..

So you are upset that we had a server WvW night where for once we had good numbers and that’s just not fair?…….and you would like for us to escort your up-levels into the towers where they can man siege and kill us….

I know when I take my up-level to WvW All the BP people just smile and wave at me as I walk by…. o.O

Here is a tip that a pro WvW server like BP already know I am sure…..there are 3 ways out of every Spawn camp….so when I see players camping one of them…as I have seen from EVERY server….I go another way…….also pesky roaming thieves will hang around watching for target of opportunity to gank…..and they don’t seem to care if you are a up-level or not……. I can safely say I have also seen this from EVERY server.
