Congratulations to all those who participated these last weeks! It was a dramatic season with Blackgate dominating. I have had the most fun in GW2 these past weeks since Beta. Special thanks to commanders who gave it their all as we held off the competition.

SoR is quite an enema, but I still feel like a piece of Blackgate is lost when SoR eventually takes the plunge out of Tier 1. I hope the leadership that was hiding under the shadows of the commanders that gave up and threw in the towel takes over. Sanctum of Rall is a fantastic server with a rich piece of history right in the server’s name.

Jade Quarry is a PvE server first, but we honestly thought that with the moving of MERC (at least a good number of the former guild) that we would have a hard contest. In the end, they just couldn’t do the job. Hopefully, Tier 1 remains competitive after that beating Jade Quarry took this season.

Now, I don’t know how long you’ve been in T1, but usually the 3rd wheel tends to be the lucky guy who really gets to pick who he wants to help. What was different however was that all three servers really were quite balanced in coverage. Some had their super times but it all balanced out in a way that 1st and 3rd were never more than 10k out of each other.

What won BG that first week win was the change of double teams onto JQ (a double team many of who thought was impossible). JQ was undeniably the favourite to win and they managed to come third because of clever map politics. I think without ZDs BG has what it takes to take on SoR, but it might be slightly different with JQ

Contrary to BG popular belief, losing ZDs wil be a hit nonetheless. In saying that, BG will still be strong, but don’t count them out of having such a profound affect on the season and the BGs victory of it, because that’s just silly!

And SoR is SoR. Being the other guy in the t1 match-up has really put the server back in it’s roots. That T1 trophy is like the ‘one ring to rule them all’, bro. It changes you O_o.

After the first week of the season, i really dont know why any server would want to have other guilds xfer in. Bar none was the best week of wvw <aside from the lag> that prolly most of us had. Fighting till reset pretty much on that friday. after ZD came in it was clear BG was willing to do whatever it took to secure the win. IMO the fact the matchup was sooo close the first week between all 3 servers only made Anets original idea about these leagues good. with xfers aloud post season start it killed it just as fast as a fat kid eats cake.

ZDs helped and I am thankful for what they have done but in the end the point stood that Blackgate still had the forces already regardless during the weekdays.

SoR was in the lead the majority of the matchup when we 2v1’d JQ. Then during wed. the 2v1 shifted against SoR which is when BG took the lead. It wasn’t until thursday night that the 2v1 shifted back to JQ. Pretty much everyone who was there that week knew what happened. There’s nothing special about working 2v1s against your enemies when they are focusing each other.

We went to OS because we knew that’s where we’d get the best fights on reset. Let the zergers zerg their maps while we could just do whatever. When we got to OS, people were demanding us to not interfere in duels and fights. That’s like putting some weird gizmo on the borderlands with a sign saying “DO NOT TOUCH”.
