@kursk: hm, yeah Elona was in fight with Vizu for 4 weeks now. Very nice to see something else again!! Maybe it will take some time to blob less :O, but during the week in primetime you should see a lot of guild raids (20-40) from Elona on the borderlands as well. On EB the Megablob will most likely stay to be the most used army-organization by Elona, simply because the queue’s are to long for guild raids.

Funny how a BB player complains about blobbing, when Bull and DsD just took our last tower on ER BL with 60+ people. Not complaining, everybody does it and at least Bull runs most of the time on it’s own. (Although, trebbing from the ruins with 60 vs 20 seems a bit strange.)

DsD nice fighting tonight, we really had our problems at first but we got the ball in the second half ;-). Good and organized teamplay, you really earned respect today.

Oh come on not this same blobbing bullkitten all over again. Keep it clean!

What a bloody mess in Deso BL, we fought tooth and nail for Garri none stop for 4 hours and i logged off as SiN left and we still held it. Lost count how many guilds hit us there but most impressed with SiN! Bull did well at start but you guys left?

Some of us got 800 kills there and we won as much as we lost just a shame we are matched against high population servers with guilds to back it up.

Thanks for all the fights just hope some of the guilds break off from the train during the week so INVI can get some good fights and practise in. Overall fun but laggy reset heres to more!

You will normally see atleast one guild raid(20-40) and one seperated “random” raid on every borderland each day(sometimes eternal but not often because of quque).

For GvG’s u can actually “ask” here for GvG’s http://www.myelona.de/?s=wvw_gvg , the site is pretty new and not all Guilds are there but it should help ^^.

I hope we will have good fights this week, cant get worse then our last weeks against the double Runaway-Blobs.

Indeed your defensive effort at Garrison was impressive. Dont worry about Baruch population. The way we play is atually contraproductive because no one plays during morning (except for an experiment that people is trying lately) while the queues at primetime are a pain.

Forget the scoring and you will have fun.

I just loved the garrison fights on Deso BL! This week for Baruch will be really hard for points but i think we will enjoy it a lot!

We are unlucky to draw this strong opponent, but thats what people want.. just fight and have fun. If the blob wake up change border or do something else.

Atleast its just for 1 week, we in deso were fighting viz for months lol so 1 week is nothing :P

Come on let’s be fair, it is the weekend so no one can really complain about night capping or blobs.

The fights for Garrison on Deso BL last night after reset were insane and we really struggled to defend it at times. Nonetheless, it was great fun, a nice challenge to have and I felt so tired after we ended for the night lol. Cannot remember all the guilds we faced, but SiN were noticeably impressive so hoping for some good fights this week

Just remember there are no longer tiers in WvW guys so no more referring to tier 1-2-3 etc just RNG.

It’s just so stupid to whine about imbalanced matchups nowdays when we DO have random roll affecting server points. This new system isn’t about the same level servers facing each other, we had that system for ages and is just sucked. Now we finally have some variety and all the children are whining about losing? Grow some balls, new system is all about sometimes getting your kitten kicked, sometimes walking over others and sometimes even matches. You all wanted this a month back and now there’s crybabies all over the place

I was thrilled about this matchup ofcourse knowing elona would win and we would most probably lose. Really excited to face elona again and baruch bay for so long time with all those great guilds. Especially looking forward seeing DsD and BuLL in action! It was a pleasure to play with you back then and it will be pleasure to play against you now! Great guys!

Points don’t matter anymore, with the new matchmaking its all about fights and discovering new tactics, improving yourself. Sadly some of us still dig this morning cap nonsense and gladly PvD all night long when there is no resistance, but cry about the very same things when we are matched against Vizunah.

Seemed like every server ignored the matchup and the points at all for like 20 minutes and just enjoyed to fight! Keep it up

Thanks to everyone we fought in BB BL for 6 hours and then onto EB for another 8 hours, so many good fights lost count of everything. 1.4k kills and 14 hours leading, BB i so nearly raged quit afew times in EB in our 4 hour none stop siege of SM before we took it. You guys certainly know how to use your arrow carts hehe!

Elona blob vs BBay blob vs Deso Blob – ended up being a fun fight; no one is complaining about the blobbing we talking about the fight. so dont be a kill sport. ty. GvG can be better but the Epic-ness of and unexpected Mayhem of a battle was incredible. To top it off with capturing the Garrison

Screenshots will never show the full dynamic of this fight. We fought as a guild group with exactly 25 people, and my guess would be that Baruch had around 35-40 people, but two different groups. [CS] were around 10-15, the rest was a random group with some DsD in it. Desolation had around 30-35 people too, but not all of them coordinated in one teamspeak I think.

That fight went on for about 15-20 minutes, and there was a lot of movement and flanking, splitting, trying to get a better position, engaging and disengaging.
Only a video would show the awesomeness.

Great fun for everyone, and best of all: no skill lags involved.

It is good that somebody is enjoying this match up, as I am not.

Yet another boring week with totally imbalanced match up and being outmanned most of the time, thanks to the master minds of Arenanet. It doesn’t get into their thick skulls that match up should be done based on coverage, not based on a broken rating system + random roll. Servers with similar coverage should be matched together.

Now one cannot even do small scale roaming without running into 10-40 ER groups all the time at Deso BL. There is simply no WvWvW left for those who don’t like blobbing.

And in those rare occasions when one manages to get 1-vs-1 vs some ER guys, they will sooner or later try to run away or they just die after a long useless fight. Most ER guys seem to run a a sturdy bunker-alike build, durable, but low damage, exception is of course thieves. This is sort of change, as the Frenchmen, especially Visunah, love glass cannon builds: big burst, no defense. That is of course a generalization, and every server has different individuals.

Yeah due to your more glorious history you are still overrated. I hope you can stop complaining about outmanned before you face Blacktide in a match.

Did you considered that Deso would still be much better if the new system would go live 3 month earlier? And that it was the old system and not the new that let you being stuck in T1.

Well, staying too many months in tier #1 really broke up many things. We lost so many WvWvW guilds and I can see that none of them are coming back, despite we had original hope that e.g. our friends BULL would join us again. Now I am afraid that getting stuck to tier #2 could do the same. Many weeks ago in these forums I was speculating that tier #3 – #5, most likely tier #4, would be best match for Desolation. What do others think?

We can still occasionally be strong when Ins Da Wagh/ INVI is running da pain train or we get our PuGs to follow in one or two coordinated blobs.

This afternoon I was commanding at Deso BL together with Sun Tzu. Since enemy wasn’t playing nicely, so I had to resort to use one of the oldest tricks in the book. Leave your wall/door broken and don’t fix it. Build your tower full of siege and farm the incoming enemy using ACs. Very soon everybody on our side was reading “your inventory is full” messages. I apologize ER for using so cheap tactics at Dawn’s tower.

I was also doing the good old underwater farming, but mostly alone, so all fair. My kudos to those ER rangers who accepted to duel me underwater.

Enticing new guilds isn’t particularly easy, so looks like it’s down to the long process of converting more PvE’ers.

You are right.

Converting non-WvWvW players into WvWvW is a long road and currently the rewards are still so low, I doubt most pve players would be that interested. I have opened over 30 chests and gotten just one rare. I think rare item should be guaranteed from a WXP chest as one can easily get 1-3 rares from each world event, which are all super easy.

Desolation needs 1-3 WvWvW oriented big guilds in addition to what we got. We discussed about this in the weekly meeting and agreed that we could pay part (but not all) of the transfer cost if we are sure that guild would stay here. But I highly doubt that in current situation any WvWvW guild would want to jump to Desolation, despite we got many good things (best tpvp/spvp, active large pve population, server wide TeamSpeak server).

So with PuGs we go. And we need to train new commanders, which I understood is already in process. If any Desolation player wants to join my WvWvW roaming groups or learn the tricks of underwater (which so few master!) and how to efficiently solo supply camps, whisper me in game. Any profession or level is fine. I hope your enemy doesn’t fall in laughter, but I think many of our players should also practice the use of combo fields + finishers as I see so rarely them used and I tell that I want certain field, I get it like once in a blue moon.

Tbh with the outflow that preceded us leaving Tier 1 im surprised Desolation didn’t crash and burn like Blacktide did when the same happened to them.

That’s purely down to the efforts of those few guilds that remained albeit small guilds that came out from the shadow of the larger guilds like IRON and VOTF etc that left us for greener pastures.

For those of us who remain on desolation that have ignored the call of greener pastures to continue to stagger across the war torn desecrated no man’s land that others can no longer stomach, Listen to this as long as there are players still willing to fight many will endeavor to step up to the mark and offer leadership and stand shoulder to shoulder with you.

There will be a day that the good old war cry “We Will Desolate” will ring true again"
