Overall, this final Tier 2 match-up was very close. I decided to take a look at some of the numbers.

I count 3 total wins vs 2, with the first win comprising of a 560 PPT on Friday morning during SEA time with DB having somewhere around 40 or less, and having a way pointed DB garrison for two weeks in a row. Pretty sure we won if there is such a thing. I believe the overall point of this thread was, when you guys did try, the tier was unbelievably close, and arguably the closest tier ever.

The reason DB is the laughingstock of the top tiers is because of statements like this, especially after it’s performance these past few weeks.

Quite frankly, you were straight up the loser. FA placed above you these last two weeks despite losing two guilds, once of which was their top WvW guild. TC managed to embarass Dragonbrand again and again and again. Your WvW population has tanked these past weeks despite reaching full server status.

However, I guess your magnificent success being paired up against a Tier 3 and a Tier 5 server have allowed you to delude yourself again. Just stop. Seriously. It’s embarrassing.

DB’s core guilds have always been respectful and continue to bring it night after night regardless of how much their counterparts did or didnt show.

But i cant say the same for some of their new members.

Old school DB, the guys that dont give up, dont talk kitten and dont brag – massive respect.

DB and TC both have strong cases over who “won” the matchup. Using a soccer type score with 1st=3 2nd=1 and 3rd=0 the points would be:

TC: 9 Points
DB: 7 Points
FA: 4 Points

If you’re measure is stability and consistency, FA definitely came out on top

Summarized a different way:

DB dominated tier 2 when they first came, then disappeared
TC was MIA the first 2 weeks of the match up and then came on strong
FA was consistent week to week

Basically FA was always in the middle and for some reason TC and DB switched places.

A quick look at posting history shows an amount of empty chest thumping on your part, dude – without much to back it up. To be honest, I doubt most on either TC or FA have anything against DB as a whole. It’s been almost exclusively the past arrogance of some of the new transfers that made DB look bad, of which you were certainly guilty.

Shouldn’t surprise you that people expect more arrogance from you and miss your “sarcasm”.

Let me just say we miss this tier.

DB Mag SBI…hopefully it will be over soon enough.

A number of us considered dropping mag below SBI for their QQ on the forums…

Chest thumping always happens. Ours may be in forms of posting and TC throws cookies and toast at you. It’s the same thing. Yeah go ahead and look through my post history. I’m not saying nobody thumped chests. People pretend like DB is the only one that had server pride/arrogance.

In my opinion, TC, DB, BG, JQ, and SOR all have it too if you look throughout their threads. FA is humble.

I don’t think anyone from TC has ever posted on a forum daring two servers to get them below 200 PPT. I personally enjoyed that – nothing like seeing EP and Odinzu have a goal!

They had a limited time event when DB came… with an item many wanted to go RP with. When we got all our RPing done we came back to WvW and hulk smashed things again. You’ll see TC do poorly if they introduce another time limited RP item. Heck if they put in time limited my little pony items we would drop to t4 at the least.

Point taken. We’ve all likely bragged some at one point or another. Still, your challenge to get DB below 200 PPT that resulted in double digit DB PPT was classic! (And I mean this humorously, by the way – that challenge probably contributed the most to building respect and better relations between TC and FA than anything either server could have done lol).

It’s a shame DB’s reputation gets dragged down by certain loudmouths.

Big respect to those on DB that fought for longer than just reset weekend, and didn’t give up when not winning. You made it a great 5 weeks, deserve a lot of respect, and I hope you realize that the negative comments are not aimed at you in any way, shape or form.

Agreed. Every week’s matchup resulted in great fights pretty much across the board. I know there may be some that are cringing that TC and FA are facing one another again this week, but personally, makes me happy. Can always count on FA to bring it.

We like to troll sometimes just like TC and FA. The forums can get too boring when it’s a love fest. ;D I’m sure we will all see each other again sometimes.

I liked the point break down, the rest of the kitten here? Not so much!

It was fun fighting DB and giving FA hot stone messages when I wasn’t killing DB.

Hey guys, I play some WvW from time to time and have to say that I had a great time in T2 with FA and TC. You guys brought a new level of play to what I had been used to. Much respect to both servers for the tenacious fighting on the battlefield. Also much respect to the people who have been noble sportsmen about everything that happened, win or lose.

I wish people would ignore the chest thumpers and trash talkers of all the servers, a handful of people do not, in any way, represent the feelings or views of the entire server. We all have those that wish to run their mouths, please ignore them.

Again, both TC and FA have my utmost respect for the way they played in that bracket. Hope to see you guys again in the future for some white knuckle battles.

The results look closer than they were. By the end, TC was easily winning. NA prime time used to be especially brutal.

We didn’t specifically challenge anyone to push us below certain PPT coz we always knew our weaknesses and TC got used to going to single digit PPT many times, but once we did ask FA & CD to actually 2v1 us back in T3. But of course that was for a different reason that majority of TC was getting complacent after many easy wins and the tier started getting boring and we needed a spanking, just like when we were thrown around like ragdolls by BG and SoR when orbs were in effect. We wanted our backs against the wall. And well, FA and CD DID deliver a big-time spanking after that.

I asked Mags and SbI to double team us this week. It isn’t working out very well for them still. :*(

I miss our relatively balanced matchup of T2, but I am enjoying the roaming for now.

What do you guys think of Db jumping up to rank 4 past you guys without fighting you. I think it’s pretty ridiculous.

Here’s to them hopefully working this out. cheers

I’m not sure anyone cares about the rating. We are a pretty mellow bunch. I think with time the old thought process on ratings will change anyways because tiers aren’t based on them. If we get matched up with SoR and BG next week, we will gain rating despite a probable score thrashing. After a couple weeks all the scores will start to drift to the center and we will probably see weekly rank changes that amount to very little overall.

I don’t blame you for hating T3 though. Our trip there a couple weeks ago was mind numbing. That’s the real problem for me with the system. I wasn’t concerned about the stagnant matchups because they always produced good fights. And who says they were stagnant anyways? TC moved up and down the Tier 2 ladder with different opponents constantly and covered every possible color on the spectrum in the last 3 months. I for one would’ve liked to see TC peak into Tier 1 on our own merits at some point, but had we remained in the old Tier 2 I could’ve been happy too.

Interestingly enough, we are tied in glicko right now, shy a few .’s Depending on how today goes for each server until reset, either one of us could be 4th.
