Thanks VII / TUP / VcY / DAWN for crazy matches so far. Wish we had more numbers to fight on even grounds and do proper GvGs right now, however, we loved and enjoyed every bit of it. We will be raiding again tonight on Underworld Borderlands, sounds like a date?

I still don’t know why everyone is saying they are sorry for us (Underworld). It’s not like we are here whining how unfair it is or that we are not enjoying ourselves.

Sure, we are out manned about 95% of the time and the rest 5% we are equal, but that doesn’t mean we couldn’t have fun or something. I haven’t had as much fun roaming for months that I have had now. It reminds me of the “old days” when this happened before. We were out manned all the time, but we did roaming parties and sneak sieged stuff and so on.

I’m also from UW. But I’m not doing roaming. On EB most of the time and I was surprised we even hat queue at EB yesterday evening. I remember last 2 matches people already stopped playing at sunday. We never had been able to upgrade stuff witht the start of the week. This matchup feels much better. Best since start of the leagues so far. We were able to fully upgrade our keep and even some towers… of course it got capped during night but we rebuilt the next day(and even could fully upgrade the keep). Taking SM was possible. I think this is possible because the difference in power between AG and Deso is not too big(they can be more busy with each other then). AM last match where overwhelming thats why we were farmed constantly and could not even upgrade the keep during daytime when there 80-man zerg was there all the time.

Also I noticed in zerg fights AG is much stronger and better than Deso. Deso have some good small roamer groups and some fun going Pangloss building AC there when we want to recap it(and of course our people don’t push that’s why it takes time…) But AG are better with the bigger zergs.

Deso are mainly strong because they have better coverage. More people at night because they either have US players, players that don’t need to work or go to school – or just don’t need that much sleep(and even if we had those players they probably would not want to play GW2 all that time even at night). Capping all that stuff and holding it is giving them a lot of PPT. Look at that blue map now. If it was not like this(and it will stay some time to give them more points making the difference between them and AG bigger) probably AG would be strongest.

I hope we from UW can continue what we did this weekend: Get some players and at least fully upgrade the keep and defend/recap our towers… maybe try SM. But I don’t think we will have enough people online during week. Maybe late afternoon or only really late in the evening. “Outmanned” sure will be a lot of the time these next days. We must have a lot of working people that work until evening and then only play 2-3 hours so not much building up and defeding until late in the night/morning of next day but hopefully still some fun. Commanders are good. Some fun people commanding here which I missed the last matchups. … and we need some more people again to fill Borderland. We would be a lot better in points if we could defend at whole weekend EB our corner and home BL(and then recap and rebuild at weekdays).

AM seems strongest atm. I checked Millenium website and according to them matchup with AM and Deso was pretty close. I also heard AM has a lot of players that only play when AM is against weaker servers(much like UW back then when we fought against weaker servers) so that might explain it… I think they could as well have won against Deso. (But that might also have been only temporarily – I think in some parts of Germany there still were school holidays until end of last week).

WvW is a 24 hour business and due to the huge amount of AP hunter and PvE players I can understand why we play a bit different at the moment. In the primetime it’s impossible to get an organized force on a map that’s large enough to compete with guildgroups. I think we’re already lucky when we get 20 people on the same map.

The most frustrating thing here is, and that has been stated a dozen times before even though everyone likes to ignore this fact, that those random players don’t listen. You try to help them but they response with “I paid for the game so kitten you, i can do whatever i want”. And then you see the 5 Signet Warrior with full CoF gear and Rifle/GS run into the merc camp and there he’s gone for the next 2 hours…

Oh and btw…are you really proud for ticking the highest on saturday evening? The time where people usually go out and have a beer with their buddies or watch a movie? Dunno but I think you could’ve picked better examples than that…

Or you know….. go to servers made for pacific coast players? I know its an absurd idea but you may actually get some fights. Or you could stay here, PvD and act like you do it to fight people whatever floats yer boat.

Friday reset – 410 max i have seen (no pic included). I will be proud of any good result during prime time (7pm-11pm cet) every day, than morning PvD result. Karma trains are fun but only when there is any resistance. Been there, done that.

Pretty good matchup so far as far as I am concerned. Deso is doing pretty good pushing our borderlands. We managed to wipe your guilds a few times so that was satisfying (after being wiped by Unit, INVI, etc so much :P).

To the Deso guys that jumped around me while carrying siege, you gave me a good laugh. To the UW team that captured SM in our backs while we were fighting off Deso, that was quite impressive, we didn’t even notice until the notification poped up. Goes to show that UW can achieve nice things even though you guys are mostly outmanned!

As for all the talk about tanking to silver league or not or 15 chasing 1 across the map, neither matters. Fact is you’re in our league and we’re having good fights. We all know that what matters for 1st place is coverage and that’s not AG’s strong point. I was hoping for top 3 but I think Gandara will take it. All that’s left for us to do is give you all competitive fights and have fun! I believe we have done both all week-end

Secondly, when your team of 20-30 people arrives late at night to our borderland, when there is 5 people all togather scouting the towers and keeps, do you really think, they will jump down and fight you?

By PRIMETIME I mean the time, that even Aurora Glade has que for entering any borderlands. And judging by the numbers of Desolation players, you had ques too. And guess what; some people drink beer with their buddies and play WvW on Saturday evening. Looks like for you the best time for playing/farmin points is Monday early morning, when people go to work, school, college … I would not be proud of the fact, your biggest opponent at that time are reinforced doors and veteran guards.

Whelp, they always said Tankolation is a PvE server. The early morning PvD is pretty much PvE content against the NPC guards, so must be right up most of their players’ alleys. It’s telling that when there is barely enough AG players on EB to trigger the Siege twins, we still manage to take our stuff back facing 1:3 odds.

Maybe other servers should also “buy” some guilds lol(there is some topic about buying guilds in other forum lol). Prefered some Australian or US guilds to get better coverage at night. I’m sure PvE farmers on Underworld have a lot of money to pay gold for others which they can transfer to gems for their transfer cost lol.

Well that was very enjoyable fights in the Desolation Bay – Vale – Briar area! GuM havoc chaos madness was up and running there and we had lot of good fights :P

The people that PvD make maybe 5% of our active WvW players…and I doubt that anyone enforces them to do that. We’re not proud of that crap, we all would love to have awesome fights but at the moment it’s almost impossible…so for once stop that hating bullcrap towards Desolation. It’s getting really boring.

Now for those still saying we tanked, before leagues started I can assure you we weren’t a gold league server. However, after seeing the pve blobs we have now, I would say we definitely we are gold league server.

So instead of trying to make yourself sound tough of the forums or complain on the forums, do everybody a favour and kill these kitten pve scrubs clogging up my god kitten queue. Trust me, I hate them just as much as you, probably more. We’ve turned into a bloody vizunah kitten , and the only people proud of that are the pvers that have been in wvw for a total of 30 hours and don’t know what toughness is.

I still believe that we do not have a sufficient number of organized guilds to be competitive in the current Gold League, since that is what makes you competitive there (as well as full-24h-coverage, obviously). Do you think that PvE players will have the same enthusiasm/participation if we were rolled over by other servers (also in night time)? I do not think so.

If you mean that we could be in 7th-8th place in the Gold League now, then I agree.

Most WvW guilds EU are located in the silver league. Not too many at all in “more competitive league”. As you said you’re new and not up to speed on such matters

Well, from Desolation, we had alot of good WvW guilds, but once the season started we had lost IRON, Coin, FG, AFTL and DVG.

And what I know, DVG had alot of capable players who were if not the best in Deso, then in the top tier.

I dont know if you were aware of this, but now you know.

IRON had left ages ago so it doesnt matter in this case tho we still have few IRON guys in here ^^ Anyways it doesn’t matter which guilds left, the fact remains they left. And the former strength of Deso has been replaced with people who have no idea what toughness is or what means to have ram mastery.

Aanyways don’t blame us for playing the game as Anet has intended. I’d love more fights equal fights if possible but no chance with the ques. We are lucky if we can stack 20 persons from one guild in one borderland.

And what comes to Saturday prime time. As far as I know none of the main guilds run events on Saturday prime. (Don’t know about GoD) So that usually explains the bad tick. Either no guilds or only one guild and too many PvEers.

GoD ran a 30-40 man group on AG, tagged up with 20-30 pugs with them aswell, also called a zoneblob. In other words we countered that pretty easy by splitting up to smaller groups, which I havn’t seen Deso done once yet

Well I can tell you good sir that TLA rarely Blob ups. At least when I’m commanding.

And wouldn’t it be only natural to tag up if there isn’t one on the map?

As for GoD they always run tagged up and they dislike pugs very much. Which makes no sense since the blue dorito is pug magnet. But it makes easier for other groups in map to know where they are at.

Personally I would change 1 pve guy new to deso wvw, for 10 of you’s in an instant. The damage you do to your server by just posting your views is unrepairable.

Please get your priorities straight, and choose your side. Are you deso player of wvw player?

Splitting into smaller groups….ahh that must have been the 3 guild groups + pugs stacking right on top of another, yes that was some awesome splitting up but gg had a couple of decent fights.

Sorry to the Desolation guys on EB the last hour for mercilessly farming you guys at your keep. I hadn’t had a decent fight on our BLs, – always much smaller groups we faceroll. So moved to EB to face a decent sized group, plus, you know, loot.

Must say your movement was impressive. You guys earned your lootbags and hopefully gave a lesson or two for our pugs. Hopefully next time they stick with the tag.

We have really had a hard time to get all the new PvE-guys to follow. We also lost many commanders a while ago. Some new comm’s have been trying the ropes and I hope we can improve our performance over time.

As a server we have had to rebuild after rebuilding. Now that we have lots of new guys in www, we should just try our best to train them and not drive them away.

If you will look at the map, you will see that Russia is a big country. We have players from +1 to +8. Guild events we spend in your prime time – much more interesting to farm you when you have a lot ppl. But nothing prevents us to go to the WvW at your night. If you do not like – it’s your problem, not ours.

As much as I like to friendly-troll the other servers in our matchups, this is something we probably all sit with thanks to the LS and League APs. I had hoped the pure PvE-guys would peter out by now and stop clogging the queues, but it seems it takes a lot longer for them to kill 225 sentries or jump puzzles than we gave them credit for.

What has been heartening is the amount of previously PvE only players that have decided to stay and make WvW their home (at least for the duration of the League). They get on TS and listen to sound advice in map chat and TS chat. They escort cows, do scout duty, refresh siege (sometimes the wrong siege, but hey) and push when the commander does. They even leave sentries alone for the most part. I don’t mind being in a queue when I know those are the players taking “my place” in WvW maps.

So my gut feeling was correct, when I said to myself, they must definetly have guilds not from Europe – guess you’re from Australia, how much fun is it for you to play versus the doors all the time? Secondly, when your team of 20-30 people arrives late at night to our borderland, when there is 5 people all togather scouting the towers and keeps, do you really think, they will jump down and fight you?

If you will look at the map, you will see that Russia is a big country. We have players from +1 to +8. Guild events we spend in your prime time – much more interesting to farm you when you have a lot ppl. But nothing prevents us to go to the WvW at your night. If you do not like – it’s your problem, not ours.

GoD ran a 30-40 man group on AG, tagged up with 20-30 pugs with them aswell, also called a zoneblob. In other words we countered that pretty easy by splitting up to smaller groups, which I havn’t seen Deso done once yet

Splitting into smaller groups….ahh that must have been the 3 guild groups + pugs stacking right on top of another, yes that was some awesome splitting up but gg had a couple of decent fights.

We only had two groups of around 25 in each. So sorry that those two groups sometime came together to fight your 60-70man group

Game is down for 3 hour maintenance, so I felt the urge to check out forums for the first time.
Seems like alot of the same people come here to post their ‘views’ on all issues. Grats to those of you that actually have time to play, QQ and post an insane amount of posts on these threads. I will not allow you to marry my daughter however seeing as you spend too much time worrying about the ‘important’ things in life.

Here’s my personal opinion on what I’ve read about a few topics:

People QQ about every possible issue that does not favor them.
There are no rules in war – luckily for all you office chair quarterbacks, you have the option to WP and repair.
Wish that Anet would make a ‘weakened’ state or something similar to all those of you that suck in WVW after being rolled and feel the need to post all the ‘unfair’ doings by servers or players alike.
…wait….forget that last opinion….that would only create another thread of BS for all those of you that are unhappy in a game you choose to play for…. fun???? LOL – the irony-

Look we can all speculate on why Deso or Tanko as some call it is in Silver league. We can discuss how Anet is wrong in allowing late night capping or how its part of the game .
There is several things we can moan about , cheer about, fight about , but for me the 1 thing that has become very obvious is that any Desolation wvwer must by now feel ashamed to admit it. Why would I say this when my server ( AG ) is being crushed?

ITs Simple

With the amount of coverage you have during the early mornings its a SHAME that you could not make it into GOLD league. Something must seriously have gone wrong for you to not make GOLD if you have a perma que. Deso is so easy knowing their morning krew is coming that between 11am and 2 am ( this is my time GMT+2 ) they dont venture out of their territory on EB.. They simply hug their towers making sure they siege it up knowing the morning krew will hit the empty servers.

What makes this even worse is that THEY BRAG ABOUT IT. How do you go about this? Guys 40 of us just took a borderlands and made it 100 % blue and we even ganked up on the 3 people still on the server. ?

In Prime time we are fortunate enough to have a good 5-8 hours where we have ques on our borderlands . And when we had equal numbers with Deso we were literally running over them. I think we went about 5 hours without loosing a fight on EB, We had to fall back to make space in our inventory. When UW had their numbers up Deso could not even run over the lowest ranked server in our matchup ( soz UW no harm intended here for you )

I also can agree with the Deso guys loosing some guilds and having loads of PVERS that is running zerker gear. We also have this. We lost 3 or 4 BIG guilds that went to other servers and we also have the zerker army. For those high and mighty Deso players acting like you are a god leading a league you should not be in , I suggest you start NOW to get your players ready for gold league.

We have played the top players in Gold and even with our numbers up we had to work hard for every single step we took out of a tower. As Deso stands now going up against servers with equal coverage you will have a very tough time.

Is this wind up? You ask most people on Deso, we didnt have a chance of winning this league. Its a poor league when a Pve server is top of the table.

We might go to the gold league, then we’ll be back in the silver league in season 3.

Were not good enough for gold, its just that the silver league is a poor standard.

I mean pugs winning match ups? Take a good look at your own server before crying.

@Dyno you dont seem to understand that coverage wins a matchup… just look how the ppt was during primetime yesterday when we got people playing, you were bellow 200 points most of the time and we were 350-420 all the time.. you only won this matchup due to superior coverage in offpeak times, nothing else. Dont really see that you need to brag that much and blame that a PvE server is winning this matchup when almost all the servers in silver league is PvE heavy servers, just look both AG and UW both being very high populated servers aswell. Think we can easily say that we got a lot higher PvE base that dosn’t care about WvW compared to what you guys have.

As you and other people said, it’s a game, you are here to have fun. Most of us have fun playing with guildies and when we do, we kinda rock ur server to the ground when we have people online.

What do you mean bragging? your the one doing that. Deso shouldnt be good enough to win this league but we are, because the silver league is poor, whoever gets promoted to gold league from here will get absolutely hammered in that league.

You can say what you want, your getting beat of a Pve server fighting with 80% pugs.

Every day since Friday, AG just moaned and moaned, get a night guild in then you’ll win, then we can all get some peace. Its pathetic.

If AG are having “fun” with this amount of complaining id hate to see you lot upset.
