I personally think what you are seeing is that there is no easy points in this match up ie. An IOJ or NSP. I am not talking poorly of those severs but SBI could simple roll over them gaining a huge point tick off a weaker server leaving a server that can match there numbers on their backs because they can focus them afterwards. Should be a good match up best of luck everyone.

SBI is just not showing up so far. I was in both Ebay/Yaks BL at around 3pm server time and had outnumbered buff in both. Q’d EB which is usually one of longest Q’s and it popped within 5min.

Will see how M-F goes

So, let me get this straight. You guys are lacking most of your numbers because it’s ESO weekend? So, let me get this straight, its only your server that is severely effected by this right? I mean, this couldn’t have an effect on ANY other server, but yours. I mean, 80% of all the beta invitees for ESO are directly from your server right? Next time, you may want to rethink your excuse strategy. ESO weekend effects every single server, not just SBI. Logic, who’d a thought, right?

I won’t pretend that SBI doesn’t have numbers, and hasn’t crushed YB previously, and still could during the week. In my opinion, it isn’t that you are “lacking numbers”, but it is because you are going up against 2 skilled servers that are ready to fight you, instead of 1 ready to fight, and one that is just completely outnumbered like IOJ. In our past match up, you just picked on the weak server, and could focus solely on YB. Same with EB as well. One weak opponent (not that they are “weak”, but vastly outnumbered), left it open for you to focus all your attentions on the other. You don’t have that option this week. I think EB and YB will give you a run for your money, and the win may/may not be as easy as you think. Then again, come Monday, you guys could come and smash both YB and EB. Who knows? I’m not psychic, and have a crystal ball. But not having the advantage of a weak server, makes it harder to focus on one server. Now you must contend with two servers, with skilled player bases.

Good luck this week. I will be back to eat crow if we lose, but I don’t think it will be an easy win for you guys.

Im not calling SBI unskilled they got several very strong/skilled guilds like [TE] [DDLG] [BEAST] and [ABYS] to name a few. Will the weekdays be able to catch up, will turkey week play its roll as many people are out of school/work only time will tell. Do I think this week will be full of many awesome fights, pushes, and hold I think so. Lets all just give thanks for a week not full of karma trains and 3 good servers matched up at the same time.

It does look like this week is going to be challenging. It went from Easy mode to Hard mode. I hope our guys are up to the challenge.

Having gone from Tier 1 to where we are now, we know the difference between being caught between a rock and hard place, and two different server zergs running side-by-side into our garrison.

You can have doubts about it when you see two servers attacking your keep from different sides and backing off at the same time. Multiple times, for hours.

Then you see yb zerg defending sbi garrison pushing, and there’s eb zerg coming from behind to wipe sbi group and just go back without even touching yb as they had no intention of taking that keep or fighting yb. Just tell me, oh please tell me they came all the way from their spawn only to have a look at orange swords.

And then you see posts like this:

So, we took advantage of that and contacted the EBay commanders to let them know what SBI was doing and they ended up taking hills.

It’s not likely that servers would form an alliance, but some commanders or guilds could certainly do that. And then it’s two guys punching one and sharing the loot.

Last time you guys had a big lead over us because FA had already crushed us and our morale was low and FA is stronger than SBI atm. This time, it won’t happen for sure. SBI getting the taste of their own medicine!!

I dunno about anyone else from SBI, but the last few hours have gotten me the most bags per minute I’ve gotten from WvW in three weeks. CD, BP and DB were all never this farmable. =P

I know the bags farmed at our hills… I mean your hills has been crazy its like the wvw gods have decided to shower us with gifts. Just imagine a 2 to 3 hour farm but make it more like 24 hours.

Sbi Garry. Sbi and YB fighting a prolonged fight for control. As soon as we wiped sbi, eBay attacked us and kept coming back for more. Can’t say what you saw didn’t happen, but there was certainly no 2v1 Saturday night on sbi bl that I saw.

Eh, would have loved to have had a go at that. We cracked EBay’s Hills bunkering in two tries despite all the siege in it. But we can’t do anything about the map we’re not assigned to until the weekend ends, and the queues aren’t so crazy, unfortunately…=\

We were supposed to be in YBBL, but we ended up moving to EBayBL before the reset, as too many of our guilds wanted YBBL, and well, as per usual, the way the queues go tend to mean that the only map my guildies can get onto was the one we got for reset.

Depends on which map of WvW you’re on, and the time of day. Most of our best commanders are on our home borderlands most of the time from what I know, save for a couple who are either always invading other borderlands or tend to stick with Eternal Battlegrounds (love ya Lord Aragoorn).

Who’s QQ’ing? Rationalize it however you want.
Thusfar this matchup has been YB 95% of the time focusing SBI and completely ignoring EBay. EBay isn’t poking the bear and avoiding YB for the most part aside from the odd fight here and there. It’s not a planned 2v1 or an organized one. It’s just YB focusing SBI and EBay going along with it. Which is fine, this is how WvW should be more often.
I applaud YB for a good strategy and hopefully they can keep it up all week.
Nobody is QQ’ing. SBI isn’t ‘mad’. It’s part of WvW. It’s not like we’re the number 1 ranked server and never lose. We’re like tier 3. We’ve lost tons of matches in the past, and will lose tons of matches in the future. It’s nice to have a challenging fight for the first time since week 1.
If we win, yay.
If we lose, oh well, there’s another fight next week.

Everyone likes bags, everyone likes to fight (and our guilds are excellent at it) but there’s more to scoring than that. Things like sieging, running supply, escorting yaks, scouting and sentry duty — you know, the things that the great servers do? — well, that’s somebody else’s problem. It’s killing us now just like it did in week one against FA. And it should. If you don’t want to do the dirty work, you don’t deserve to win.

Why do you guys from SBi not understand what’s happening? There was not secret meeting where you needed a secret handshake to even enter. What’s happening is that we are completely focusing SBi(since if we win this week it will almost 100% mean we get 2nd place in Silver) while Ebay is also hitting SBi because you are the server with the most coverage normally, so instead of sitting down and getting ran over like you are normally used to facing they are actually fighting back because Ebay has a lot of really good WvW players. Simple right?

It’s not cooperation in the context you mean. From Yaks point of view, when those things happen it is because we don’t want to get distracted from the true threat and/or objective….SBI. I cannot comment as to why Ebay doesn’t attack us but I do know that some commanders yell to ignore Ebay to head somewhere else on your BL…..usually your garrison or a camp to resupply lol

The numbers game only comes into play during the week for these three servers. This weekend our numbers have been pretty evenly matched. Even at night because we have NA players staying up. People say we have a strong reset/weekend…I take that as a total compliment due to this. We ARE even with SBI and FA during these times and it shows we can do well. During the week our numbers dwindle due to RL but everyone’s does….but this is where population really kicks in. The weekend we’re on equal footing.

I do want you to know, SBI, Yaks is playing the ppt game this weekend and week. We want you to bleed for your points. So enjoy the bags and know we are also. You may win overall but I think we’ve shown what we can do when we really try and play strategic and not just for the fights. Those come regardless.

Oh and btw…..we’re missing people due to ESO also. Just to say…

And that is what we are seeing in every map.

I think that if you looked really hard at your sentence, you would see your own undoing.

And as far as the matchup goes, Ebay is really good at coming in second. Focus first place when it comes in handy, but in general feast on the misfortunes of another server. Take Yaks’ paper and hole-riddled garrison (in SBI bl) because it’s paper and we could. Take SM from Yaks when we can. Focus SBI because that’s the only way we’ll have a chance at second this week. It’s tactics, not alliances. Perhaps some guilds are acknowledging that and not attacking Yaks when they don’t have to.

[Void] was in SBI bl and EBG tonight, and we hit Yaks when we could or when we needed to, but for the most part we took what was paper and/or easy to take, fighting along the way. It just so happens that SBI lost out because of it. I laughed when we saw Yaks causing orange swords on SBI’s keep, so we rushed in an took SM for a 4th time tonight. It’s not because we’re aligned. It’s just coincidence. Thanks for the epic lewt!

Yep we’re used to it. It is pretty kitten funny to see the obvious collaboration on YB and Ebay’s part even though they are strongly denying it. I can speak from actually seeing as have the others posting in this tread. Happened for at least 2 hour before I logged for the night yesterday in EB. But it does not seem like it is happening on every BL all of the time. I’m not complaining just stating what I’ve seen first hand. Hope you guys can keep it up throughout the week, first time I haven’t had to sit in queue for hours in weeks.

SBI was attacking at Ehmry Bay Bravost tower. That was 0/250 supply tower and gate was 25% with no one defending . Suddenly one guys went inside tower and what happened !!!!

Great job bringing it this week Yaks and Ebay! I haven’t had so much fun in a long time – been so bored either stomping other servers or getting stomped by like SoR. A relatively even matchup is great – this is what WvW was meant to be.

And as far as 2v1, if Yaks and Ebay have the strategic players to pull off an planned 2v1 or if it arose organically or if its just done on the fly because its the smart thing to do in any given situation against what was thought to be the stronger server in a match – brilliant! That is excatly how it should be. I’ve been saying forever that there should always be 2v1 against the stronger server – it makes it more fun. Much better than one server giving up and it turning into a roflstomping.

And for my fellow SBIers – don’t get discouraged, this is a great matchup! Stay out there and fight!

Yes, all servers have bad players who zerg on them. But, no other server I’ve played against will consistently come to defend a supply camp with 40+ people.

And, as to the reason why people shouldn’t do this? It’s called having fun. If that is your idea of fun then what does that say about you? Also, the “but, Timmy does it too” excuse works for children, but not for adults.
