D/D S/D SB
(edited by Elixir.2169)
Currently on BP here and t3 has become only zergs. All the roamers have seemed to vanish. Couple people from my guild are looking to move to a new server/tier right now that has good roaming and there is always a decent amount of people on. We have been to the low tiers and while the roaming is good there seems to be completely dead periods which is not what we want. Any suggestions would be much appreciated!
Hows EU roaming?
(edited by Elixir.2169)
I would think if it were truly only zergs, that there would be ample opportunity for roaming with everyone sticking to large groups. I know that is the case in T2 matches, where there is a lot of roaming since most people who are zerg inclined tend to blob up more than a little.
If you roam in a group of 3-5 there is ample opportunity in the T2 servers.
I’d recommend you to SoS and t2 based on the fact that we regurally face TC and Mag both which have Heavy roaming populations, in the off hour times oceanic/SEA/EU roaming is everywhere and on SoS our roaming population is very low.
You could consider lower tiers. From what I recall, EBay, NSP, FC, DH all have decent roamers, with fewer blobs to boot. Outside of NA, most BL’s will be free of blobs. Of course, you also run the risk of going an hour without finding a fight due to lack of coverage.
Mag, SoS, FA, and TC all have roaming populations. That said, I found that they were sometimes mixed in with the blobs that were also running in the BL’s, and I think T2 blobs harder than T3/T4. At least you won’t have to worry about not finding fights.
I believe when he says “roaming”, he means running with groups of 5-10 and occasionally up to 20. When talking about roaming in T2, are we talking 5 people or 25 people?
Hows EU roaming?
Gunnar’s Hold, Far Shiverpeaks, Aurora Glade and Gandara have really good Roamers (both solo roamers and small groups of 2-5). Roaming is not dead in EU, but it has become somewhat frustrating as PU mesmers are really common.
I’ve seen good roamers even on Abaddon’s Mouth (with my pleasure I have to say), but that’s a German server.
If you are NA and play during prime time NA, roaming in EU would be really fun for you: late night in Silver League usually means that each server has only one, big zerg hopping from map to map flipping stuff, with scouts here and there. I usually have some really nice skirmishes against those scouts, fighting to the death to capture/defend that camp
Roamng during prime time EU is a pain because you will mostly try to avoid zergs or bigger groups rather than fighting.
Don’t listen to those overzealous SoSer’s. The higher the tier the more likely your fight is cut short by passerbys jumping in. T4-T6 have the best known havok groups. Transfer to a server that faces vT (Borlis) or TKVA (CD) if you want a challenge.
Come have fun on NSP. Roam, Gank, Ninja, Its all good here.
If you’re meaning solo roaming, I would go for one of the big four international silver league servers, all of these have a lot of skilled roamers in. (MS and AM have good roamers as well but they’re national servers)
AG (twinned with Gandara) has a huge variety of roamer classes and has Vavume in!
FSP has good roamers at all time and has very good guilds in, they have more warriors and necros than other classes, so basically, anybody who roams around on FSP borderlands is going to have some epic fights.
GH has variety as well as a lot of good rangers, thieves and elementalists and has the TEO guild who give amazing fights and do some pretty hilarious stuff http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6d2JhhlQmZM , seriously, these guys are awesome.
Gandara (twinned with AG) is very similar to AG but they have a lot of amazing guardians that any warrior should be terrified of as well as a good variety in roamers.
However, if you run around in a 5 man gank squad, save everyone the trouble and go to Desolation.
Roaming t7 & t8 is dead. I enjoy roaming on mag quite a bit but please go to opposing servers so we can fight you.
Come to Aurora Glade, its pretty much ran moslty by guild groups and 1 commander for pugs, a roaming team that organizes with the rest would be a great addition to our force,
The truth is you will see a lot of roamers on RoF but also a few blobs.
But at least our enemies are not so stacked as t3+ so Mr.Blob is not on every map every time.
Roamers Paradise, thats how one guys called RIng of Fire.
btw. T7 in NA and EU are definitelly NOT the same. For me, a guy used to T7 in EU, even T4 in NA seemed dead to me
I spend most of my time solo/duo roaming outside guild raids, tbh I have more fun now then I did when I was roaming in t4-8, maybe just me but their are a lot more people to fight, sure you get interrupted more but I don’t really mind usually, and its more then made up for by the extra amount of fights. Should check out FA or another t2 server. Have no idea how roaming on eu is though.
You guys will be happy with FC. We already have a few roaming guilds here like Main, Yarr, SeT, OTD, nine, KL and more that I can’t think of off the top of my head. The roaming is good.
T2 in NA has great roaming: our guild in TC often roams with 2-4 sometimes more and many times we solo roam. Solo roaming is definitely a lot harder but not impossible to do and still find 1v1 fights 2v2 or 3v3 4v4 etc.
I am partial to TC but SoS FA MaG all provide great roaming opportunities.
All of these also offer chances to zerg up if you want to join and I think all have competitive militias and command structures and experienced commanders in all types of fighting from havoc to blob from open field to siege.
I believe when he says “roaming”, he means running with groups of 5-10 and occasionally up to 20. When talking about roaming in T2, are we talking 5 people or 25 people?
No, we are talking 2-5. TC and Maguuma manage to get a lot done by their roamers. No, you won’t be able to ninja towers with 3-5 like you probably can do a lot in lower tiers; but camps, sentries, yaks, bloodlust will all be like candy from a baby. It’s because of the large zerg nature of the tier that roamers can have a lot of fun. No one is going to divert a zerg for secondary targets and only towers and keeps attract zergs.
If you are looking for a target-rich environment you can consider SoS. Maguuma is overridden with roamers and TC and FA have healthy roaming populations while SoS is currently light on them.
Come have fun on NSP. Roam, Gank, Ninja, Its all good here.
Agreed, Northern Shiverpeaks.
Come on over to SBI. As you have seen during this matchup. SBI doesn’t just do one large zerg ball. We are normally running in individual guild groups, or small groups, and a millitia zerg.
Roaming, defense, havok, those are things we believe in.
