Bounty Board - WvW
Ill put a bounty on TheBoss.8479 (1gold) to start with..
And I want a pic of you posing as a quaggan over his body as proof.
E.A.D.
And how exactly are we supposed to hunt down a character when we don’t know his name? And how would you know who to place the bounty on?

you would place it on members of a certain guild on the bounty board where another player could see that and take on that bounty and go and kill a member of that guild and get the $$ reward
This request inevitably makes its way into Group PvP-related MMORPGs and is just as inevitably denied due to the potential abuse / griefing that can occur (and has occurred in some games.)
Works quite well for an added fun element in FFA play. Except for the fact that most game developers have discovered FFA is not profitable.
i know we on CD hunt The Pinky Purplish Mustash all the time… too bad we gonna miss that tomorrow onwards.
and we don’t need any token. watching quaggans do the ritual dance over his dead body is sufficiently satisfying enough…
Archeage = Farmville with PK
It would be hard to implement but I think its a good idea.
Space Marine Z [GLTY]
Thought this was all ready a thing the players implemented not ANET. I know we have put bounties on guildies who transferred over for a week or when we face people we know in other match ups. We simply tell our server what they look like what guild tag and 10s-5g per stomp. Screen needs to be included.
But if ANET could work with the player name ID to implement a bounty or a bounty map that would be neat.
Yo mama jokes to stronk.
Forum Mods to weak.
Well it’s pretty clear that ANet does not want to promote rivalries between individual players. Otherwise we would be able to see the character names of enemy players and be able to talk to them.

Exactly. I’d hate to lose half my zerg running towards the enemy because a guy running past us has a 5g bounty on him.
I love the idea of hunting a anonymous enemy. You have to spot them, know their weapons, guild, clothing colors. Party them and see if you can get a account name. Friend them and track them from map to map. Spread out and scout them. Maybe they bunker up in a keep and you have to open it up to find them.
In the past month there have been two dagger dagger eles and a char guardian that have been on our guilds hit list as kill on site. They camp and ganked our day players when they were alone. So we hunt them in the evening.

I would a bounty system, but it should also extend into the PvE world as well.
I’ve been the target of bounty hunts by two different servers (one while livestreaming), and can confirm it’s a very fun twist on things when regular wvw gets stale. One of my guildmates even made an extremely tanky stunt double of my character so we could use him as bait to lure out the hunters and jump ’em.
So far, only [Yarr] from FC have been successful. Dirty stream snipers!

The way it was done in SWG, if you got killed by someone, you were given the option before you rezzed to place a bounty on them. It would show the current amount of credits they had and you could add more. There names would then show up on bounty mission terminals.
I guess you could have something like that. Placing the bounty would be easy. How to make hunting them would be a little more difficult. It could be just you kill that person by random chance, you get the gold. That isn’t very fun. If you do anything more though, it could be exploited to track commanders.
Interesting idea.
Mister Buns and I have dished out quite a bit of gold to have people killed on other servers we weren’t against at the time. As well as dishing out tons of Omega golems to servers against one we dislike so they could roll their BL.
