Commanders
it’s not like we follow random commanders around.i follow my guild leader and if he isn’t on i follow the ones i know. all the others i ignore. i’ve seen a ton of commanders and a lot of terrible ones, that’s why u squad up. i wish though guild leaders were given a private one that only guildies could see for ninja’s.

I prefer to run with a guild leader tagless… everyone just calls target on him instead. That way we don’t have to deal with bad/not in mumble/squishy pugs rallying the opposing forces.

Agree. Since commander has only 100g to purchase, there will be a lot of commanders who has no idea what to do(they even dont know how WvW works). A guild squad should have a unique pin on leader which can only be seen by guild members. Commander will be the common leader comparing to guild leader. Meanwhile, increase the requirements of commander purchase, for example, require WvW achievements or achievement points in total.
The guild leader //pin will make WvW more like ‘GUILD WARS’, instead of ZERG WARS.

This is why guild squad leader// pin is needed. If you are not in a group, you cant call target.
So whenever I do a WvW match everyone always follows someone with a commander title. I looked around and found out that the only thing you need to purchase the title is 100g. If there aren’t any WvW achievements associated with buying this title, why do people blindly follow them around? What’s stopping me, someone who has no idea what they’re doing, from spending $50 USD on gems and converting them to 100g to buy the title?
I believe there are a few commanders that have done exactly that.
There are good and bad commanders regardless of whether they paid real money for their dorito or whether it was guild funded. The commander icon is a tool nothing more. It only takes a few skirmishes to determine whether a blue dorito is worth following.
Agree with the guild //pin comments. That would be great
Yeah, we’ve been asking for a better command system for months.
Meanwhile, all you can do is follow whoever has a tag up – it’s at least a focus point to gather the zerg.
If the guy turns out to be utterly useless (it happens !) you can just ignore him – you’re no worse off.
The truth is, a zerg is so much more powerful than individual players or small squads doing their own thing that it’s usually worth zerging round the tag no matter how badly commanded.
If some1 is commanding and people are followng him and they think he is bad.
They will stop following him after a while, thats very simple.
And most of the time another commander will tag up and they will follow that commander then.

Yah Aberrant that is currently the ONLY way in the game to run multiple groups together in a private force…. and that’s sad. It’s clunky, annoying and frustrating at times. Having that visual commander pin for all the groups to see is so much more efficient, but you become an instant zerg and that’s not what many guilds want.
Let’s get a way for guilds and players to form private squads if that’s what they enjoy doing. Using the ad hoc system multiple groups are forced to use if they want to run together is horrible.
