Any post that argues rangers are overpowered in any aspect of the game, is trolling. If you seriously think rangers are overpowered compared to other proffs, I really have to wonder how much time you have been in wvw.

wth are you even reading the thread? The problem in here is not the ranger, it’s the OP PETS that they carry with them.

And to make matters worse rangers can bring 2 OP pets to battle, yesterday I was roaming on the borderland until a ranger came across, I now know that I should had ran that day from the very beggining.

He sent out his brown bear and let me tell you proudly that, after a good amount of conditions and CC I finally managed to kill it. But what was my surprise? He spawned a dog that kept fearing me and knocking me down, I seriously don’t get this they have so much CC >.<

This here. Freaking hyena not one pet BUT TWO PET BOOOM all in my face. Even ogres know Hyena OP.

Two pets now cripple, knockdown, ranger still wailing away, arrows, pain, anguish, hurt.

This is actually very simple problem to fix.
Delete ranger class because pet is too OP.

I know. I am a big, mighty warrior and this little guy with a bow (seriously, like some little sliver in the leg will really slow my Norn Warrior down THAT much) that is already overpowered by being able to slow me down from a distance and deal damage from a distance can then call a companion to further slow me down and deal more damage? And can then go invis after all that while their pet can still attack me?

Oh that happened to me yesterday too, so annoying. After I killed the tanky bear when the ranger brought up his dog he went to the top of some ruins and started ranging me.

So I tried to go straight to him but the dog kept knocking me down and even feared me from a ledge, that combo is way too OP

Dog, ranger, hyena(x2), BEAR, shark, jellyfish, pets….
Ruin my WvW, kill me much, so much armor repair, so much anguish.

Should call them something else to match how OP they are, something like “Gigantic Killer Bear with No Fear and Lots of Health” or something close to that.

Seriously, that would just terrify me and force me to run into the tower and attempt to treb them from the walls until they left.

See right there that’s your problem! Everyone knows that the ranger pets target the tall fat targets first, more to eat. Re-roll an Asuran and you will be fine.

Apparently you need to go the bear/drakehound/shark/jelly rotation since that seems to be what owns all right now.

OMG mate can’t you see it?? The reason is clearly right in your pic, dat bear belongs to the “Legendary heroes”, you’re fighting a freaking legendary bear.

This explains why I had such a hard time with them yesterday… Wait this means all the ranger pets are legendary? That’s why the doge was smart enough to throw me off a cliff?

I really take this post as a huuuuuuge troll.

I’ll share a small secret when it comes to fighting a ranger with a pet, simply keep on moving then the pet wont hit you but if you cant be bothered with that, i dont think anything could help ya out

IF so you should have seen pets are incredibly useless then and according to your signature you play a ranger yourself, pull it out in wvw more often and see how other people deal with it, then you would not make troll posts like this, yes troll posts and ranger pets AI is the worst you can find, do you die to pve mobs? no? why would u have problems with ranger pet then.

Edit: the murrelow does have a aoe poison cloud, but if you see the pet raising up, you know when to move out and other pets knockdowns are easily to overcome with a simple stability/dodge

For serious, they are just way too OP being able to bring that much hurt with the pets that call friends with the knockdowns and interrupts. Even worse when they also bring along those glowing friends of theirs too. What kind of magical pets are those?!?!

So I tried to follow your advice yesterday while roaming, didn’t worked as you and I expected (I fought a ranger with 2 bears, another with 1 doges and 1 spider, and another with 1 bear and a doge):

- First ranger: At first it was working flawlessly, I managed to like evade some of the pets attacks (didn’t knew that was possible) and that helped me to keep attacking the bear, but they’re like gods the ranger ended up killing me before I could kill the second bear.

- Second ranger: Well this one was slightly easier, but each time I tried to evade the pets attacks they kept knocking me down, fearing me or immobilizing me. Such an annoying fight that spider is a hellspawn.

- Third ranger:: Ah my nemesis, the one who tortured me 2 days ago. Your plan didn’t worked at all, the dog kept me CC’ed all the time and then he changed to the bear so that I couldn’t even damage the doge, any other strategy for this combo? Bear and Dog?

Anyway thanks for the tips, I still feel pets are OP with all that CC but moving has saved me from 1 of their hits.

actually if you bring enough signet bearbows they become OP. Because of ranged DPS + stability + zerker + invuln + mass AOE condi removal….
And all dem waterfields.

Last night I was taking advice, found a HUGE norn male ranger, he really fat. He did not have Bear so I felt safe, and knew I had skills from reading this page to help me.

First part he sends Moa at me, try daze, I use the dodge but I hit the key 2 instead of 1 time. Now no dodge roll but I think still ok, Moa is fierce but not letting that stop I begin to lay own PAIN ANGUISH AND TORMENT on Moa pet: DEAD, I got it. \

Now I realize that ranger just gonna swap pets, probably bear this time so I decide: GOING FOR RANGER.

All of the sudden big fat norn guy turn into HUGE NORN BEAR at this point I am in terror never seen Bear only Leopard and he use some skill like a signet next thing I know nornbear thing charge me and I oneshotted, downstate, try to heal, try to rally…NO, 10ft BearNornManThing just wailing away on me. Then NORNBEAR /laugh and jump on me….

DOOD, he WAS the bear?! For cryin’ out loud! That’s just too much now. Anet needs to get on nerfing these bears out of the game. Rangers need to be real rangers and only use improvised weapons found in nature. And i still want to know how they breath underwater. Bears would drown after some time.

Also, bearbow train so going to own the hammer train this season, just you watch.

They better not! I was already getting hit by UNICORNS the other day, and another one was planting flowers on me from 1500 away.

I ran because i didn’t want to be their plant buddy, then that lizard knocked me down and ate my hobosack. It went downhill from there.

For those who didn’t get it… OP is actually trying to state that pets are completely useless and should be buffed.

I know what bear is, bear fat and lazy try to eat campers food. Bear might try to fish, but bear no swim in deep water for 5-10 minutes. Bear sits on lazy rump scoops trout out of rivers.

When nornbearman go to water he turn back into fat norn ranger guy. I think bear should turn into manatee. No one scared of manatee. Manatee prob hold breath longer too, also one other thing shake it off is shout, talking bear much terror enough, but HOW BEAR SHOUT UNDERWATER HOLDING BREATH?!
