OP: It’s looking like it’s not today :-)

Glad to see it’s not just me. I logged a ticket and was told “Players who have had a display name change in the past may experience broken guild lists, broken guild rosters, inability to chat, broken friend/block/social lists, and having both the old and new display name visible to users alternate intermittently.”

it just didn’t seem worth it in the end. I have since noticed that other players can’t message me by right clicking on my name as a default name (CDC or something) appears as the recipient, then the message fails to send as the user does not exist. If that’s the only bug to bear then so be it but still, annoying.

On the bright side, I can’t fault the friendly customer service :-)
