It’s been awhile since I’ve played GW2, and I’m returning.
Which world is currently performing the best? Who’s in tier 1?
I’m currently a member of Dragonbrand.
Thanks for all answers and time!
Hello, Tyria! I’m returning to Guild Wars 2. I see that so much has changed since I left about a year and a half ago.
I have two lvl 80s and an up-and-coming lvl 80 on Dragonbrand. I’m a U.S. East Coast player, a young adult in my early twenties looking for a friendly guild to which I can contribute.
I’m looking for a guild who does regular raids, WvW, and events – and PvP would be a pleasant bonus – but which does not demand too much involvement. I prefer to maintain a healthy balance of a casual attitude with serious gameplay.
I hope to find a guild which is medium-to-large.
Above all else, I am looking for a guild which provides an adult environment (18+ is preferable) and an active, fun-loving, and endearing community of gamers who love to play GW2 together and want to succeed alongside one another.
PM me or post in the topic thread, if you or anyone you know could give me a home. Thank you, everyone!
There are a couple of legendaries that I really like and really desire, but I’m disappointed that there are no means by which I can apply the stats that I would prefer onto the weapon.
For instance, if I want Frostfang or any of the greatswords on my warrior, I would certainly want berserker stats on it. The same applies if I wished to get Bolt or Incinerator for my thief.
I’m aware that, right now, if I were to craft the legendary that I wanted, then use a fine transmutation stone to give it the desired statistics of any given exotic weapon, it would remain the same in appearance and effect, but would lose its “legendary” status in the game itself.
This is a very legitimate concern, because of the “ascended” weapons being recently discussed (or whatever Anet decides to call the new tier of weapons) and simply because of any future changes which might be made to any weapon in the “legendary” category, specifically. I’d like to take a berserker Bolt/Incinerator into WvW, frankly, or a berserker Eternity on my dungeon runs.
TL;DR:
My question is this: What should I expect? Should I go ahead and start working for the legendary that I really like? Or should I simply wait until they explain what they’re going to do with the statistics? Or worse, have I only been hearing rumors (for 4 ish months now) that they’re going to “fix” this issue?
I don’t think they even need to make them transmutable; maybe they can simply provide a certain item (one you could by with skill points/guild commendations/karma/laurels?) which assigns certain stats to the legendary of your choice.
Can an Anet moderator, developer, or member please provide an answer, as well? That would be awesome.
Hello, everyone. I’m a thief currently stationed on Dragonbrand, and I am having lots of fun with WvW and PvE, but I’d like to extend my experience beyond those two and get my hands dirty in PvP. Let me explain, I do not intend to leave my server, nor will I be quitting my current guild. My current guild is almost completely PvE, with a slight interest in WvW, but I do enjoy my time with them. I do, however, want a guild with which I can enjoy PvP (if your guild also does WvW, then that’s simply a bonus).
I am completely new to PvP and have no experience, though I have read enough in the forums and online to substantiate some sort of understanding of basic roles and types of damage, boons, and conditions and how those affect the gameplay.
I’m looking for a well-structured guild, but one that isn’t incredibly strict, as I do attend university and hold a job. I want to have fun at PvP, but I’m very competitive, and I want to learn and succeed, as well. Also, unless your guild has some unusual age standard set, I’ll meet your age requirements.
If you feel like your guild meets any of these or if you feel like you want me to join, feel free to PM me here or in-game. Also, if I’m online, you can /whisper the following characters:
Aa Primus
Aa Secondus
Aa Tritus
Thank you for your time, and have an excellent Christmas!
Hello, GW2 players!
I’ve been playing Guild Wars 2 since launch, and I’ve yet to actually find a guild in which I feel “at home.” I’m looking for a mature (preferably older) group of people who want to have fun and aren’t too strict, but I also want a group of people who are willing to be competitive and lead aggressive group events from time to time. I like recreational gaming, but I like to have some serious game-time every now and then, as well.
If anyone has any suggestions or offers, please message me in-game or on the forums.
Thank you!
I’ve been working on my thief for some time now, and I’ve tinkered with the abilities. I’ve gone with Critical strikes and Deadly arts so that I can max out Precision/Power. Of course, as a result, I am paper-thin. I have discovered methods of evading and removing myself from harm, but when it comes down to it, I’m simply a glass cannon. As I approach level 80 with intent to PvP, I am wondering if there is cause for a few ability shifts. On the same note, I currently operate with Daggers/Pistols or Bow/Pistols. I am learning that staying out of harm’s way is key, and that I can stack damage very quickly with ranged weapons, as daggers put me too close to melee attacks. However, daggers simply deal so much damage. I also have ten points remaining, which will most likely fall into toughness or vitality.
My question(s?): am I approaching this from the wrong angle? How can I manipulate my abilities and/or weapons combos to continue to milk potential damage output for everything it’s worth while actually maintaining some survivability? Or is there a better setup entirely for the DPS PvP thief that I’ve not considered?
