I’ll add to this discussion the fact that if this feature is added there could also be a developer api created to allow tracking in-game calendar events via external sites (forum calendars, etc).
So my question now becomes….how are the zones organized in this “zone check?” The guildies I WvW’ed with last night hinted at this as well, but I have yet to see any information posted or wiki’d about this. They also said that re-queuing would move my position in queue up to the front, and this seemed to help (but that also could be coincidence).
Seems very odd that the WvWvW queue is not first come, first serve.
Apologies if this has already been posted; I searched but wasn’t sure exactly how to word this.
Earlier tonight, our server managed to capture green keep in Eternal Battlegrounds WvW, which to my limited knowledge has not happened in the past 2-3 months. I got the keep vista on my alt that I was playing at the time, and quickly switched to my main which literally needed that single vista for world completion. Here’s what happened next:
Time elapsed – 0 min: I queue my main toon for EB
Time elapsed – 5 min: My guild leader queues for EB and his queue pops almost instantly
Time elapsed – 10 min: a guild friend queues for EB and his queue pops almost instantly
Time elapsed – 15 min: to everyone’s surprise, my queue finally pops
Both guildies were explaining to me that your queue priority is determined by which zone you’re in and how many people are there, yet I can’t find any explanation or documentation on Anet’s forums or wiki.
For the record, how does the game determine whose queue pops first for WvWvW?
PS – I did end up getting that vista for world completion
Just wanted to add that besides having this happen regularly to me in PVE on my norn, I had the following sequence happen tonight in Eternal Battlegrounds WvW:
-attempted to fall off the outside wall of our overlook on purpose to leave our base
-was suddenly teleported back inside onto the ground in front of the stairs leading up to said wall
-the death cry from a long fall plays in the background and just fades out after it’s done
-rinse and repeat several times, at which point I relogged and it disappeared
Just had this problem as well – the npc’s must have found and destroyed the weapon before I did; I was busy focusing on all the dredge that kept spawning!
eventually found another post from January outlining similar issues. Besides any unintended glitches/bugs, the main problem is that the directions are unclear. I completed it today by camping the logger near the house, who was the only one who would periodically (once every 2 minutes or so) get attacked by a ghost. I let him die, then fought off his evil spirit and then several spiders. In addition, his displaced spirit will spawn near the house and then you can guide it back for more xp.
tldr – the directions are very vague so you won’t know what to do at first
Same bug over on Sanctum of Rall server – no ghostly spiders or ghosts of the loggers are even present. Tried relogging, waiting an hour or two, and still nothing.
