Yep, saying it again..
It’s cool that you gave other profession the ability to heal for themselves, and pick themselves up when needed.
However, that still doesn’t let me play one of my favorite playstyles.. the dedicated healer.
I played GW from the start of Prophecies, playing many roles but I have to say some of my favorite memories in gw1 were playing monk for my guild/monking for randoms. These I cannot recapture in this new game, and I don’t see why. I’d like to think that this game stood behind and encouraged a player to play as they’d like to play, but I cannot see this logic as in order to make a statement against what has been looked at as “meta” entire playstyles have been sacrificed. There’s always gonna be some sort of meta and taking out the dedicated healer options isn’t going to change that. It’s just gonna mean that I can’t play my favorite role.
Again, I like the idea that other professions can take care of themselves and you don’t need to be revived as much. I don’t like the idea of HAVING to rely on a dedicated healer, I just like the idea of being able to play one. If you think about if you had a profession that was better at healing than other professions should they choose to build that way, you would be sacrificing other things for your team. It’s not like the other professions can’t take care of themselves so having a monk wouldn’t be necessary, it would just add versatility.
Sorry for grammar/spelling x.x
(I’ve said this since before the game came out, I’m still saying it.)
Really disappointed that my favorite playstyle has been neglected in a game that prides itself (or so i thought) on customer satisfaction, and playstyle versatility. Seems more-so that GW2 just wanted to be different.
inb4 you want dedicated healers go back to wow
tldr version: give me option to have a dedicated healer option, not a class that has to be relied on, but the ability to be a strong healer at the cost of dmg/other things that other class’s bring to the table.
