Guild Wars 2

I think the biggest issue is that the warrior has too many access to weapons and that needs to be limited to a more melee style system so that skills and class funtions can be more revolved around that style of fighting. Warriors are a weak jack of all trades right now and the elite spec is ok at best.

Now ive been using zerk with discipline and defense as kind of a frontliner hybrid kinda build with gs/sword-axe and ive been fairly successful in fights, i went 1v1 with a revenant for about 5 minutes randomly and in the end i had to run as i couldnt heal enough but in a group you can still do some decent damage in wvw.

Thing is though every small fight im seeing how all the other classes have so much better access to far better utilities and damage. Things like blindness obliterates our chances at dps half the time, and before you say stuff like “get good” you need to not be so closed minded, many people are complaining on warrior stuff right now, we really have a sub par class at the moment and anet needs to do something.

I do have fun with the zerk spec as I realllllly enjoy the arc divider when you use f2 with GS ive dropped a lot of people using that ability alone. Overall though warriors need attention to the class as a whole and in desperate need of a total overhaul.

The second time I caught him i blew all my hammer cds, got him with leg specialist, #4, then #5, then earthshaker and dropped him.

Ive played since day 1 on dragon brand and ive honestly never seen this nice little icon next to a players name till last night. I was in a wvw raid last night and suddenly we happened upon a fairly large zerg. And behold, I saw this little icon, i hadnt seen one before, but…. i knew what it was.

And then I went into crazed squirrel mode.

I was on our teamspeak and I screamed out…. MAGUMA ANEETTTT!!!!! Our raid leader was like.. dont you squirrel!!!

I had to, it was like… like a pretty cross hair of doom. I was going to get that nice fat juicy squirrel. And I did. Twice last night. I did bow in respect after defeating that player twice. I think it was contagious too, I got the raid going ATTACK THE ANET GUY!!! -zerg swarm- :P

WORTH IT.

Pff who needs armor, just use weapons only.

Im pretty sure as a charr, I could deal with the water if that meant quaggan burgers…..

In all scenarios, id say both the norn, and the charr, are both capable of winning either time.

A fight, would depend almost exclusively on experience and skill. Ive also seen the argument that the norn are better individual fighters vs the charrs fight as one mentality.

It would go back to the skill and experience. I would say a 50/50 chance for both sides of this topic. Also never underestimate a foe, sometimes, the least likely to win, wins.

Situation, specific. Each have strengths and weaknesses so agian 50/50.

Warriors are scary in 1v1… They stun quite often then swap to great sword and hundred blades, or play banner build and have amazing health regent when concidering healing signet and regen. I don’t think it makes sense that a warrior can hit harder than any class in the game with zerk build and hundred blades. Sure go ahead and say that skill is clunky but mind you can have a stun option quite frequently.

This… is what im talking about. If you are standing in 100b…. then you do not know how to fight a warrior. No amount of nerfing will save you from that. I never use a gs in wvw or 1v1, its only good for mobility.

The general consensus is that the warrior became OP when ANET tried to quickly move them from being useless to useful.

The main disadvantage of the warrior was supposed to be (if you look at the original builds) condition damage. Now, the warrior is frankly far too able to remove conditions and avoid being locked down. Add passive healing, high toughness and high armor and you simply have too many benefits and not enough weaknesses.

Cleansing Ire and Dogged March are the biggest problems. Warriors should get locked down more and should take more condition damage with fewer cleanses. But God help another class that winds up toe to toe with you.

You need a pretty big claw back (nerf) of the abilities ANET put in after launch (cleansing ire, dogged march and healing signet) in that order.

Im sorry but this sounds like you want to face roll warriors by locking them down all the time as they were before getting the changes. I do a lot of wvw zerg fighting and roaming and say fighting an elementalist… if they want to and use all their abilities they can move so far away I have no chance of reaching them, even if im in range my abilities still do nothing. Its the same for a warrior, if they are built skill wise to be mobile, they are going to be mobile. You will have a hard time keeping them in place.

No class is equal, this is why there are different builds for every class. Again, this goes back to someone got mad because they didnt know how to fight a certain profession of another player and they start to scream nerrrrffff!!!

No matter how much you try to balance, or change, buff, nerf, it will never be equal for all professions. As a warrior, if i come up on a mobility warrior with gs/sword/wh, I take my chance to end him and if he starts to run, I stop chasing him and change my objective. Just my opinion that if people took the time to learn how to counter someone…. they wouldnt be screaming nerfs. Then again, sometimes its obvious something needs the nerf bat.

I think that people complain so much because they expect to win every time they face an opponent expecting a perfect match up one class to the next. They fail to realize that this game has role, there is not a single best class, nor worst class. That each class of character has their own strengths and weaknesses.

They fail to realize that you cannot win every fight. Thus when they lose they come to the forums to cry nerf this or that NERRRFFFF!!! Ive played a warrior since day one, and im kitten good at it! Still, no matter how good, Ive learned vs all the other types of classes that there are times were you either take the risk and die trying, or to use a tactical withdraw to live another day.

I for one, relish fighting a class or someone that has an obvious advantage over me. If I am successful in defeating them, I am proud, that I was able to use skill and tact, to defeat them! Sadly, we have so many in todays world, that want easy, one shot wins, hand them everything.

I almost feel like yoda saying this, but you must learn your opponent and how to fight them, if you are a ranger, you do not fight a warrior up close.

Ok, so I have a 2600k overclocked to 4.5 ghz. I have a Z68 FTW motherboard and 8 gb of Gskill 2133 ram. I use a XFX 7970 radeon. I have an eyefinity setup and I can run the game on medium settings in a 3 screen setup. The CPU is huge… if you got the cpu power, GW2 loves it!

Now I usually buy a good cpu when i build a gaming computer and I liked how the 2600k performed, if you know how to overclock you can squeeze even more out of them.

I considered another single card solution for eyefinity/surround, however in all honesty you wont be able to get steady performance at max settings unless you have a dual gpu setup. Even the top of the line cards like the Titan and the r9 290x have a hard time keeping it above the 30 fps limit. Zergging makes it worse as you get more effects and graphics going on.

Thus said, stay away from crossfire, the drivers are terrible for 3 screen setups, crossfire works for a single screen. Most of this is down to how much you wana pay though. You can do eyefinity easy with the r9 290 as long as you keep the settings on medium with shadows and reflections down low. Also it depends heavily on the cpu you have.

It was fun seeing ING in that map. Between the ING group and the CERN group, I think red took everything. Will be even better when we can see the names of people on our team.

Yes! CERN was the guild with us last night, we steam rolled everything…. so fun. lol! I liked how the crazy bear npcs spawned as we were takin the one tower with guys up on the wall trying to pick us off. I dropped an AC and i lost count of how many i downed up on that wall.

One crazy thing did happen, if you are on the inner gate of the keep there is a small spot were you can fall through if you get knocked back with no way out at all. We had to get a mesmer to port us out of the glitched area.

I think were gonna be in the new map a bit more as its not the same crap every night. I gota say the map itself is gorgeous. Like something out of the never ending story mixed with lord of the rings… love it.

I like the new map, i love the chaos and people from other servers. I wasnt bored, i found noobs and veterans alike. Had some epic battles last night, a nice change from fighting the same zerg over and over.

For those of you complaining and wanting balanced matches and this and that… its not ment to be balanced. If you are outnumbered use the terrain to your advantage. You will never have balance, thus you must be smart as to how you fight your fights.

Plus, never forget, that we play to have FUN, not to appease elitist guilds….

I have to say last night, was more fun in wvw for me than in the last couple of months. It was so epic when we got into the new wvw map. The chaos that was as we ran around the map going after keeps and zergs, was so much fun and such a nice change from stale match ups fighting the same zergs.

What was even better was when we came up on a friendly zerg… I noticed it was a guild from TC. DB and TC have had some bitter fights in wvw in the past, and now suddenly… we were on the same side.

We said HELL YEH, and started destroying everything in our path, it was glorious. People jumping off the edge, siege every were as we assaulted keeps and towers, the crazy npc bears coming at us… hell of a night.

Great fights last night in EBG! I was surprised with how many were on how little lag there was at least for me when we got into big fights.

I couldnt help but laugh though the “pug” per say, players, they were doing good following us but when we got into big fights there was a wasteland of dead players…. i felt bad.

It was EB Bl if im not mistaken. There were two zerg groups after we took it fighting at the gate, i was just runnin solo with some guildies after a commander and his group ninja’ed it. We had no resistance. Then 80 people show up at the gate… lol!

Indeed, was some great fights. Prior to EBG we were in NSP borderlands caping everything in sight… we didnt have any resistance for the most part and after we took a keep we had a ton of supply so we started building golems… and we took more towers and had more supply…. so we built MOAR GOLEMS!!!! We had so many it was kinda stupid.

Alas.. this is us in Bay, chilling with our golem army.

Frands at ING we love fightin you but pls chill on the numbers some. There were like 25 of us then a bunch of pug rally bait. We weren’t even tagged and they were able to follow us!

Also EA love you guys even if we didn’t run into you solo last night. Admire your choice to continually run on against us regardless If you’ve wiped to us a bunch or are outnumbered.

For the most part in the last 7 weeks we have fought nothing but massive zergs outnumbered 90% of the time. We had a good showing last night, but were so used to fighting outnumbered and having to really kick kitten and work together, when we smash with similar numbered zergs or smaller… they tend to die.. very fast.

kitten you heavily populated servers for making us better players!!! heheh.. Im sure next week well be back to going oh kitten 60+ man zerg… good fights though, a lot of fun!

I have to call some BS on this one. 90% of the time in that 7 weeks? You guys were against us twice out of those 7 weeks and we certainly don’t come close to putting up numbers to out number DB. On top of that, one of those weeks was with NSP who has very similar numbers to us, so for the better part of that entire week, you we not ever outmanned. 1/7th is 14% right there.

It also seems that many of your guys can’t/won’t do small fights (15 or less) at all (not talking about your guild). Take today for an example. I spent several hours on your BL while only seeing a few DB. It then took 8 to over power me out of Vale (which was fully upgraded so I have a little sympathy there). Those 8 then went after Briar, which we had done some upgrading (wall, door, and oil) and sieging. They ran away within seconds. It was 3 of us IoJ, nothing more. Next up came a zerg of 40+ (including an omega) led by a charr NNK commander. What a serious waste of man power when it takes 40+ to capture one tower from 3 people.

All is fair in love and war, if you want to take a banhammer and smash a fly with it, why not? When you realize that when it comes to a fight to use any means possible to win and that rules or what you think is right or wrong doesnt matter. People will use any means to win.

Now i cant speak for our entire server but generally when we do a guild run in wvw we go lookin for zergs to fight. Outnumbered or not.

Nothing is fair in life, instead of trying to defend a tower that is doomed, fall back to a secondary tower that they might attack afterwards and prepare it in the time you have to fight back. Win some, lose some, you cannot win every fight, but you can choose which fights to win. Just have to be smart about it!

First, I was on your BL and happened to have 2 other IoJ show up at the tower. There is no place for us to fall back to except our waypoint. Are you saying that it would be best if we just sing songs at our waypoint then? And no you cannot choose which fights to win, you only choose which ones you will participate in. I understand the notion of doing what ever it takes to win, but bringing a bazooka to kill a fly every time is still a complete waste of your resources.

Yes, I love the challenge of fighting out numbered odds. I do it all the time. When it’s not 40 v 3 but closer to a 3-5 times disadvantage (1v4, 2v9, 3v16 kind of thing), you will find me causing havoc in the fight and not hiding in some keep/tower. I view it that if I can get them to turn their focus towards me and off my allies, we have a stronger likelihood of winning the engagement. Obs knows I don’t back down from a fight even when the odds are against me (just as he and many other guys I respect do). I will try to spread out my pursuers, but that’s to make the numbers a little more manageable.

We use a bazooka to kill a fly… because we can.

Im a kitten good zergling, and i know how to win a fight, with low numbers or many people. When you come to the realization that your enemy will use any means to win and that you must do the same or more, youll accept zergs, camping, roaming, whatever and learn to fight better and how to win.

Whilst i dont agree with what anet has done with the whole league thing and pretty much guaranteed the servers with the most players a win, i think that if you want a perfect even fight, you should go do spvp. I love chaotic fights, if you are outnumbered or not. Thats what makes it fun, the randomness.

Dont get me wrong though, it does get old getting farmed by a zerg 100 times your size, but the game is not perfect. Things like outmanned should be improved, its worthless at the moment and the bloodlust things are pointless countering a stacked server.

I always wondered why SBI and FA claimed to be oh so superior when on each servers theres like 2 guilds that can hold their own and dont suck complete kitten. Anyways have to agree with that second statement xD kitten you all!

Was fun to fight you guys again, we were just hunting TB in our BL and EB. I think by the time you came they’d given up mostly. Continually ran and ran after their first two wipes on IoJ. Had a good laugh about them calling in Big Bro though (Even if they didnt) ;D

This is how I feel when I am trying to defend a tower against that.

Yes.. we are quite fortunate for our SEA presence. Still… thats how we feel at times when the NA times are on and were 20 vs 60+. We give those zergs hell though… muahahah!

Good fight last night between Anz and splendon last night, we started fighting FA which we pretty much defeated and then the SBI zerg came rolling in, I thought we were done for initially but we fought hard and it took you guys a loooot longer to dispatch us than i expected. Great fight!

I love to watch how people try to burn each other because they are on this server, or that server, there have been so many transfers from whatever server to another server nobody even knows any more. The sad part is that no server is stable per say in regards to population, it can happen to any server.

What really .. annoys me is in wvw when servers that fight, only fight, when they have such superior numbers the other side has zero chance, and run from a fairly equal fight or even if they have more but are not certain of their number superiority.

That said, there would be many more epic fights and fun, if servers would just stop with the 1000 man zerg lag death bombs. Lagging your way to victory with a ton of people requires zero skill, all it requires is you facerolling your keyboard.

Please though everyone, do not forget why we play, tis for fun. So might i ask… why so serious? bahahahah :P

I got lucky last night with a Screen shot! lol..

Happened to DragonBrand. Nearly 3/4 of our guild got the black screen as did the rest of the server, now we sit, in que.

Been a pretty good week minus the skill lag, good match up! I have one beef though….

Last night on DBBL, wont say what guild, but man… time after time DB and FA zergs found each other in open field. Now.. i know that sometimes you need to fall back to towers to regroup and what not to defend or for tactical advantages. But seriously… do you guys have to run every fight? I watched the FA zerg buff up with empowerment, fire fields, ect, and as we charged in…. YOU RAN. I counted about 5 dang times instead of fighting you ran and hid in your tower/keep.

So then we end up on Bay south walls, guess what you ran some more and hid in the keeps inner walls while we pecked away at your walls. Then you waited for more reinforcements from the south side of the keep, they got there, THEN you decided to come up after us, and died trying.

The point is, dont run. Fight! Getting into a good open field fight is fun as hell and we love it! Its not like we had a mega zerg of 80 people, we were lucky to have 25 yet.. you ran from us each time.

Especially when both zergs were on the north side of Bay walls and both zergs poped buffs and got ready, that was exciting.. we were like YES!! BATTLE… but ya ran.

I think that just by watching the video, it’s clear that ING did not have superior numbers.

And as far as the scoreboard goes, I think I can speak for everyone when I say that it’s already known who will win the league.

To the [Hero] that read this, all I have to say is that the quality of the player or guild doesn’t change with the server.

Oh, and to the [Hero] members who are angrily posting on the youtube video’s comment section, this video is the ONLY time this matchup where ING was raiding and found you outside of the SBI megazerg.

Every other time, a) Hero is in the SBI megazerg b) ING isnt raiding and just roaming around.
And if I were you, I wouldnt be too proud about killing 1 person at a time…

Should be a decent match up this week. It was disheartening to see all the guilds leave DB because of the league bandwagon migration for easy wins, but honestly im glad i dont have to deal with monnnster zergs from T1.

Nice try this morning FA at SMC… epic epic fight! I thought for sure you guys were gonna take it initially but we fought hard even though we were spread out bad!

Thought id shout out to BP. Ive had some great fights lately and its been awesome…. but in all seriousness… report your cheaters/hackers. I watched a thief magically get inside of a tower this morning, whom i saw on the outside without a mesmers help of any kind.

Had the dude targeted outside and he cloaked… next minute he was behind me on the supply hut, while the rest of BP was attacking the gate. Needless to say i reported him but between the glitching and the speed hacks… just kitten es me off! Ruins it for the rest of ya playing legitimately! Great fights though guys, keep it up!

Which tower was this? There’s a specific tower that has issues with people magically popping inside… we found someone inside our tower on just random patrol. Also – BP doesn’t support cheaters, report his kitten into the ground; we aren’t afraid to report our own guys either.

It was at Anz in EBG, it happened so fast i didnt think to take a screen shot, but it was this morning bout 5 to 6 server time. I know we report the hell out of cheaters as well on DB, its just sad that people resort to cheating, kitten shame!
