Alright so here is how I feel. The air attunement of the elementalist was already SEVERLY under powered compared to other attunements and proffessions, the only solace I had was the reasonable recharge on Ride the lightning and enhanced Fury and Swiftness duration for shocking aura. I love lightning imbued physical attacks and dual weilding so I endured the disadvantage of the air attunement before but with this new patch, it just feels like there is a vendetta against it. If anyone doesn’t believe what I’m saying try playing exclusively DandD air atunement, which by the way is totally reasonable with all other attunements, and see for yourself.
Zephyr’s Boon is an air trait so it makes sense that it gives more boon duration to air skills, and ride the lightning either needs to be given back the original 15sec cooldown or roughly double the damage it has now; a lightning imbued super charge, why would it be weaker then a simple swing from a warrior?.
I just want to play as an exclusively air attuned, dual weilding elementalist and this last patch ruined the game for me. I hope Anet rebalances it, I probably won’t play anymore till they do, or recomend the game to anyone at this point.
Side Note: Fire and air are both supposed to be damage dealing attunements yet fire does almost twice the damage of air since almost any action gives you might, whereas air gives you swiftness, the most useless boon, and so desperately needs fury.
I agree completely, soulbinding is a pointless parameter. I just do not see what purpose it serves and wish they would get ridd of it.
Well all I can say is this. The elementalist lightning attunement was already horriibly under powered I don’t care what anyone says. I love dual weilding and lightning skills so I wanted to play solely in air attunement with two daggers. I don’t care what anyone says, air-attuned elementalist were already horribly under powered, infact it took hours of number crunching to make it even viable and now they made them even weaker. All I can say is that I am absolutely livid about this new patch. 10sec fury and swiftness duration to Shocking Aura was not a bug by the way, it was granted by an air attunement trait thus gave greater bonus to an air attunement skill, makes sense. As for Ride the Lightning, ok increase the cooldown, but then give it double the damage. This all but destroys the game for me, the balancing is totally out of wack, and for a game that advertises freedom they sure like to limit things; first you cannot dual-weild with any proffession, then they imposed a speed cap and now they’re taking away the onlygood things about air attunement, which is like saying don’t use it. I’m very angery with this last patch and hope they revert the changes back or balance better.
