Hey everybody! Let me first introduce myself: my name is Brendan and I currently study software engineering at university. I’m nineteen, Scottish (enough said, right?) and have been playing MMOs since the launch of Guild Wars 1.

From the very first weekend beta event, I set out to create a guild that would give lone wolves an opportunity to experience the launch of the game with other friendly players. It went fantastically but everyone has moved on now that they’ve settled in and found that their direction didn’t match the others in the guild. Ultimately, the guild collapsed and we were left with a lot of newly found friends – but no place to call home.

And it is on that note that I’ve started looking for a new guild. Ideally I’m looking for a friendly guild that is serious enough about content to progress towards personal and guild goals, yet not too serious to have a laugh while doing it. I would also prefer a guild in which I can contribute; there are many 100+ player guilds which have grown to such a size that everyone becomes a number and the whole thing is terribly impersonal. I want a warm community, not a list of people I don’t know in the slightest. PvE or PvX is more or less a requirement as I tend to enjoy sPvP secondarily, and certainly couldn’t spend my time playing only WvW.

To give a quick idea of my current situation in the game:

  • 80 Warrior (current main)/80 Elementalist. Currently working on ascended gear.
  • Three explorable paths (Arah 2-4) away from Dungeon Master.
  • Level twelve of Fractals of the Mists, progressing (mostly) daily.
  • Rank 12 in PvP.
  • Enough experience playing top-tier WvW to last me a lifetime.
  • I’m currently on Desolation though I’d be more than happy to transfer servers if I felt a guild was ‘the one’.

On top of that, I feel that I could contribute a lot to any guild I was to join:

  • Web development skills if website creation/maintenance is required
  • Happy to step back from my current level of content to help people with easier content (we were all there once, right?).
  • Leadership (group, guild, event, etc.) skills that I picked up in the aforementioned guild.

I guess I like to write long posts too. Sorry to anyone who made is this far – and thanks!

Cheers,
Brendan
