Well I read a bit more and checked a few other links out.

Restarting wont delete all the files youve downloaded, so closing and restarting the client wont cause issues. Though i have no idea if the files that are only part downloaded are lost.

Restarted client when first download got to 1812 meg. still had just one files remaining.

Restarted client second time after downloading 1208 meg of last remaining file, connection seemed to freeze at that point and wouldnt download any more for over 10 mins.

next time i restarted the client it wouldnt work at all.

Luckily i had some decent TV to watch so didnt get bored. However when i restarted my pc and then the game it still said 1 file remaining. Checked out some more forum posts at that point and came across something nice.

Well, for PC users anyway. If you are having this problem on PC try right clicking on shortcut and select properties. In the Target Window near the top directly after the last " hit the spacebar once and then type…….

Apply and start client again. this should allow you to play the game while download streams in the background. At least it working for me anyway. Currently ingame and playing, though todays daily missions are lost to me.

And on a final note, yeah, apparently these types of things can happen (and have happened) on fairly big updates when lots of people try to grab them on the first day.

Decided to check out this post because the same thing seems to be happening to me.

99% 1 file remaining. 1778 meg downloaded so far. The download screen seems to flicker a bit too.

Speed for me seems to flicker between 0KB/sec and 1MB/sec. And its been about an hour since i started the download.

Though i am also curious about what addons you may be referring to. But what i really want to know is the actual size of the file.

Ive got the same issue, as well as plenty of others i would think. Drytop and now Silverwastes have massive lag problems.

It’s like i’m playing a crappy stop motion animation game.

Ive got a new motherboard and processor that i purchased only a few months ago and a new install of windows 7. okay i might need a new graphics card soon enough but those things arnt the issue. I can play the game in every single other area with pretty much everything turned to maximum and have no problems.

I can join in a Teq fight with tons of enemies and even more players running around and again i have no problems.

Go to Drytop or Silverwastes with only a half dozen other players on screen and i’m not getting frames per second, its more like seconds per frame.

As it’s ONLY in these new areas its obviously not an issue with my pc or my internet connection. It’s an issue with these areas.

My response in-game to this is simple. Ive made yet another copy and paste bug report and send it every single time I experience this problem when i go to Drytop or Silverwastes. As i get this issue every single time i enter these areas I am now sending these bug reports several times a day.

I did the same thing when i was suffering an annoying trading post bug. That problem was finally fixed….. Okay it took them several months to actually get round to fixing it but it was fixed in the end. I can only hope it doesnt take that long to sort the problem out in these areas. But if we’re both honest it more than likely will.

Personally I’d rather pay for expansions that have been extensively tested rather than numerous small additions every few weeks/months that are riddled with bugs. But that isnt going to happen.

All we can do is hope for the best.

All Anet can do is try and fix these problems before people like us, who have these issues, decide the game isnt worth it anymore and quit playing.

It’s not the net.

Its not our PC’s.

Its something Anet messed up during the last patch.

I KNOW its not my net or my pc because the other MMO’s I play are fine. Even when i play them in a window whilst browsing the net and streaming a HD film on my other monitor. The lag is only in this game, Guild Wars 2.

Some people are saying its a graphics issue. I’m not sure what to think. All i know is that since the last patch i’m reduced to 5FPS whilst standing still, 3FPS whilst moving and a 1-2 second keypress lag.

I havnt experienced lag this bad since that first big event when that island rose from the ocean and the karka turned up.

Right now the following statements are completely true for me.

ANY form of pvp is out of the question.

ANY form of fractal or dungeon run is out of the question.

ANY form of large scale world event is out of the question.

ANYTHING that involves me moving around whilst another player is on screen is out of the question.

About the only thing i CAN do right now is stand still and shoot. At least that how ive managed to do my daily’s the last few days. Everything else I just dont bother with because its just not worth the aggravation.

And i think others HAVE posted about this, its just the forums dont really have a decent way of showing the information.

It lists Subject, Author, Views, Replies and Last Poster. But it doesnt show ANY dates whatsoever. In fact i found this topic by searching in google. I tried to find the same subject by reading through the game bugs section of this site but after 11 pages I just gave up. I’m sure others have as well. Since the ONLY way to find out when something was posted is to enter that particular post i can understand why some reports, like this one, dont get much of a response.

But I guarantee lots of people are experiencing what we are. Of the dozen or so regulars that are in my casual guild, at least half of them are experiencing lag of some form or another. Ive not spoken to them about it much because i havnt seen them much. Why havnt i seen them much? Because the lag is so d**ned awful they are only logging on for about 30 minutes to an hour each day to get the daily out of the way. Once that is done they are quitting the game because its unplayable.

Ive personally reported this bug each and every time ive logged in since its happened. I dont expect anything to be done to be honest. The last time I filled out a bug report each time i came across a certain bug i ended up creating a copy and paste bug report document on my desktop, just so i didnt have to write the same d**ned thing every time i logged on for the day.

I sent that report every time i ran into this bug, sometimes three times a day. I filled out reports like that day in, day out, for over 10 weeks. It still wasn’t fixed. In the end i only stopped reporting the bug because i stopped playing the game for several months. Thankfully that bug has been fixed since ive come back. I can only hope this one doesnt take as long to sort out.

But i wouldnt bet on it.
