I agree with everyone that said that maxing a char and then another happens in every mmorgp. I like the living story!!!
But I algo agree that it’s gotten too much too soon, and too serg-dependant. I remember how cool the first ones were, when u had to go around a bit, collect some stuff for story purpose (not only to loot in order to exchange for stuff), do instances, etc. Some of the best I remember are halloween (the 1rst), christmas (the 1rst), the molten alliance, the mai trin dungeon (part of it is now a fractal, so are the molten!! that is good). It would be nice to mix it up a little, to have some episodes to be zerglike, and others more at the party level, or even solo instances. This is my feel though, I think this is quite personal, depending on how u like to play.

(Sorry if some of this is repeated, I tried to edit my previous post but I don’t know if it updated properly, it got stuck and had to quit it)

I forgot to add, while it’s very cool to have fights which require super-organization and are anti-zerg, I’m not sure that the Living Story is the best place to put them. They are great for content like Tequatle and Triple Wurm, which are permanent and give u time to learn, practice, strategize and polish technique. But the LS lasts only for 2 weeks, have different sides to explore, and are supposed, I think, to be accessible to all players. Some people can only play in weekends, some play in hours in which maps are seldom full, it’s unfair to pretend that 150 people are needed in order to succeed at this event; especially in servers which are not particularly populated. Moreover, an event which is key to seeing the final battle with the character which was central to the story for the last year. And an event which drops important items as well. If u don’t do this, you’ll be missing important content, both storywise and loot-wise.

The feeling I get is that in the end you are forced to join a super-top-of-the-notch guild to have a chance, or jump around severs/overflows like a mad person to finally land in an organized or full overflow in order to have a chance at this.

So what does that have to do with the zerg? Well, the zerg was working. It may not have been elegant, but it was an option, we learned about it, and we found that it worked and it suited the reality of overflows, pick-up groups, and casual players chasing that next hit of story. The zerg had its own organization, of a sense, and it allowed players to carry each other.

I agree!! So very much!! It took a few tries but it worked, was fun.
Though it is VERY annoying that people don’t res (what’s up with that? why do they do that?? why do u even play if u don’t play?), this feels like the punishments fall on those of us who do make the effort to kill the knights. Not only do we have to deal with the dead, but cannot replace or need to be calling for more people (I’m not sure if the buff fades at death). The fight now feels hopeless. Maybe it’s that a lot of people is on WvW right now due to reset (when server combination changes, I don’t know the right word, sorry xD)

Correct me if I’m wrong, I’m not super strategist, but this 50 people per knight is detrimental to overflows or maps which are not to full capacity, those can’t put 50 people on each knight and are doomed, so they focus on killing one, and then try to assist the remaining ones, usually to no avail.

For an event which will only last for 2 weeks, leaves important items and likely we won’t get to play again, I don’t know if it makes a lot of sense to make it super hard, I understand the zerg killing for events like Tequatl or the 3 Headed Wurm, for which u get time to plan, practise and polish. But in the living story there is not that much time, especially for people who work, or can only play on weekends. This feels like we need to end yet again in a super-top-of-the-notch guild to succeed, I think this was not the idea. On Tuesday, like a poster said on another thread, it was perfect, the event felt quite epic, took a while to figure out (at least in our overflow, which was not full at all), but was fun and eventually worked out.

More to the point, sorry I repeated this on other posts, but the healing issue is not fixed. Just happened in NSP, we had one at 50% and healed full instantly. We lost.

I agree. I have been trying to fight Scarlett since Tuesday (it was a holiday in my country so I had plenty of time
First we failed because I fell on a little populated overflow. This happens, everything’s cool. Then when I finally got to scarlet, holo was bugged. Then for a couple days I got kicked out of the game every 2 seconds. Then it was kill and no loot. Recently we did it but we did not have 50 ppl for each (maybe because of the WvW switch, I hope we will be more at the events on the following days), killed one, got loot, still no Scarlett fight. After patch, had one at 50%, and BUM healed back to full. Fail again! I still haven’t been able to fight the unbugged holo! Y___Y

Yep, was there. Full heal, I didn’t see menders though. Maybe it was them, I don’t know, but it healed full at once. We lost of course. And since we didn’t have enough people for all knights, that was the one we had most of our people on, so we failed the event.

Before last patch, we killed the blue one and we al got reward. But after the patch, battling blue again, we had it at 50% or a little less, and it HEALED full to 100% again. This was supposedly fixed… we lost of course.

Hello, I’m having the same problem as Odin.9103, till yesterday other than in-game bugs it worked perfectly.
Today after the patch, can’t log in, if log in can’t see the news feed, if I try to play either kicks me or shows me my chars but won’t let me enter the game with any of them.

Can’t see the forum, or the GW2 official page. After the trillionth attept I just logged in, so I can post here.
Connection works perfectly fine, loads videos, shows vatiety of pages, etc etc.

Just donwloaded the second patch and there are issues still. Please look into it!

I’d like to add another issue (I haven’t found this reported in this thread or the original post of opening strike issues), when testing traits in PvP I noticed that when maxing the Markmanship and choosing “Remorseless”, opening strike does not reset when making a kill, and switching to the next target; I regained opening strike only when going out of combat and in again, as in the lower part of the trait branch.

I think that with these issues fixed opening strike is a great trait, I hope then can look into it!

Hey, I agree with these reports, opening strike seems to apply randomly when pets are involved, and I still have to check if the “always crits” is working.
