Nice video I just wonder, did ArenaNet devs predict such trolling thing??? I really doubt
http://SecondToNone.pl
They did make a place to do it, you just dont want to go there.
Yes, that’s the point!!! But it’s probably time to end this off-topic

Quick question Colin – are we still able to kill people doing the puzzle? Or is this gonna be a pve area?
Kill away! It’s still very much a WvW map, just its own map now. It’s all growsed up.
Any chance to place a big glade somewhere in the new map, aside from main route to JP, just to allow unofficial duelling between people from the servers? Or even something like an arena/collosseum. Just a place, without any additional mechanics involved.
PvP has arenas…. go there.
I think that’s not the same. sPvP is for different people and gives much different feeling. You like it or not, there are people, who like to try dueling in WvW. Either you make them a place for it, or they will still do it on EB.

In this post I am referring to “downscaled” content which I have experienced as a level 80 character. Simply put, I find it trivial. While fighting in an area with level 14 – 16 creatures I timed how long it took me to kill things and I found that it was consistently <2 seconds. To me that meets the description of trivial.
If you equip a level 14 character with full exo&ascendend gear and unlock all traits/skill, you will probably kill at comparable speed. Even in greens/blues and without all traits, a player at level 14 kills mobs at same level quite quick. So maybe just unequip your gear, reset traits and remove utilities and maybe you’ll feel like those players in starting zones in terms of challenge

In the beginning I was quite happy with the guild missions. Finally something to do at guild level. After a few weeks, I can say the bounty missions are just not fun. Another thing with plain luck involved. You can spot a mob in minute, but you can also smash barrels for 15 minutes and get nothing. There are certainly some issues. Some bosses are nice to track and kill, another are just ridiculous, scaling is weird (yet another 1 hit killers). I also don’t understand the concept of 15 minutes limit. What is it good for? I really think we will stop that crap with bounties T2+ after maxing out guild upgrades.

I personally feel that this dungeon need some revamp, coz majority of the pple are just looking for mesmer and warr in gw2lfg.com for a speed run! Other classes need some love too!If this goes on, everyone will eventually roll only mesmer and warior! What’s the use of having other classes!
I think you mistake two different things. Mes+4Wars is just probably the highest dps setup. It is not connected in any way to CoF, its connected to maxed speed runs. If you revamp CoF to make it long or annoying (like recent AC changes) it wont increase “love” to other classes. It will just make pople stop doing CoF P1 so often.
CoF p1 is currently the last dungeon we do ad-hoc, evenings, with any guildmates, with any class, just to have some fun of playing together, when not all people have an hour of time just to endless tap one mob. I’d rather like to see more so short-timed and not annoying paths instead of changing this last one.

Any info from devs about this bug? Shall we post a ticket if the achievement does not progress? That’s weird – I get progress on hobby dungeon explorer, while a friend of mine does not, even after we complete the same dungeon together… Shall we post a ticket each time it does not work as expected?

Tell me what you guys think: whether you agree and if not, why.
Well, in general I don’t agree. I think stealth and stability are nice goodies making the fight more interesting. I’m ok with the stealth mesmers have. It allows to expand solo and group strategy. I’m totally not ok with the stealth thieves have. The thieves mechanics is game breaking for me and caused that I’m not interested in wvwvw nor spvp.

Hotjoins need to go, and have solo queue replace the “hot join” mentality.
I think, if you remove hotjoins, you will see all those unorganized and not focused for any team play people in tourneys. That’s why hotjoins must stay…

@ Aksamitna you may want to check out the SE p1 and p3 speed clear as it is comparable to running CoF p1 and p2. Id be happy to show you guys some time if you interested.
Thanks Sticks, as a dungeon master and frequent dungeon runner I’m quite familiar with all paths/dungeons. I was rather talking about going with friends for something more relaxing in general. I really think there shall be also several easy to do paths in dungeons for more casual players, who do not want to master skills, gear and sacrifice lot of time. The pre-patch AC was one of few of such dunegons. I could go with friends at lvl 40 with greenies and we could do it and have fun. Now I’m not sure about that. I have no idea, why did they change the AC. Maybe the problem was, that easy paths were overused by fast-runners for quick loot. But in my opinion the changes made harm to overall community.
And talking about SE, dunno why, but my people do not like this dungeon… There must be something wrong with it

CoF p1 and to some extend p2 are so popular because the majority of players want the opposite given by arenanet.
That’s the point.
At the evening, after work, tired and wanting some entertainment, the “uber hard pro” dungeon is the last thing I’d be willing to do.
I want to do:
1) something together with my guildmates, who are not necesserily the hardcore players (many casuals, many over 40 yo)
2) something requireing a group play, some comminication, some coordination
3) something that takes not to much time (30-45 minutes is ok)
4) something that is not frustrating but fun and realtively not hard
The old AC, COF p1, and maybe TA p1 was the only content in the whole game that fulfilled all the criteria for me.
This does not mean I do not like challenges. Sure I do, but only once-twice a week, appointed with other good players, as a real challenge, taking more time and effort. And of course giving something worth doing it – even just a feeling we did something epic, but most of the dungeons do not give that feeling, it’s rather “thanks god its over, it was so long, boring, frustrating and not rewarding, won’t ever do it again”… But this is another story.

A guild of 35 members here, not big, although all very active (we do not keep “dead souls”). The guild was created about a month after launch and now we got all trees maxed for some time and little to spend our influence for. The influence goes quite quick if you just group for events and www, i.e. if you really play with your guildmates. Personally I like the idea of devs. Finally they added some long awaited meaning to guilds. The unlock cost is accessible for smaller guilds like ours, but can be hard to obtain for all those “party-style guilds”… But… it’s hardly to call a group 3-4 friends a Guild…
So in my opinion – good job!

There is a nice legendary progress editor, looking like: http://secondtonone.pl/belegendary.php?l=9 Unfortunately the interface is only in some kind of klingon language…

I really don’t know is it op, or is it just boring, nor do I care. For me it’s just a major design flaw made by devs. They probably didn’t even realise it is possible to play that way and this if for me some kind of exploit due to lack of imagination from devs. In my opinion such playstyle is not fun for the person playing the thief, nor for the people insta killed from nowhere and just shall not be possible in this game.

I was just updating this to let everyone know I have looked into it and done a modification. The next time there is a content patch you should see the changes.
Many thanks for info, will give feedback after the patch goes live
Great that we do not need to kill NPC and rangers’ pets anymore to pull the sparks.

Count me in to the group of players, who think there’s something wrong with Simin. If the QA team says it’s ok, I just don’t buy it. We are quite good with dungeons, Lupi is peace of cake for us, Subject Alphas is a joke. Tried to do Simin several hours. The sparks just do not get into slots, there is always 1 left, that is hovering around its slot, but do not want to get in. Tried the 4-1 exploit as well, but were unable to burst DPS with 2 DPS warriors and mesmer with time warp. So, no, thank you very much, will wait for some fix here… Not going to do it another several hours just in hope the spark will finally by luck park properly in required short time.

And you guys buying this whole “gap closer” thing.
How does pursuing Ascended gear, which is now necessary, move you closer towards Legendary gear?
Sure, it’s very easy.
“We have found that our most dedicated players were achieving their set of Exotic gear and hitting the Legendary wall.”
Means: if you’re frustrated by smelting thousands of rares/exotics in the forge hoping for lottery win – a precursor for your legendary WEAPON, you can now also farm new tier of JEWELLERY. That solves the problem of Legendary wall, doesn’t it?
“Our goal is not to create a gear treadmill”
Means: So we add ONE new dungeon, that you need to run repeatevly for about 90 hours to farm one piece of new end-game gear.

“No, Arah is not bugged”
http://SecondToNone.pl
I don’t get it. Before this was even announced the forums were filled with “oh gawd, we’re so bored we have nothing to do”.
Then once they (Anet) gives you a simple task of completing something. The new instance for better gear…which prolly a monkey with downs could complete; we get all mad… makes no sense.
I know I’m not the only one that has been dying for more things to complete. Sorry I don’t find running around the map ‘fun’ I get on video games to kill things, not run around looking at vistas when i could just go outside to look at nature…you know…that ISNT fake.
call me crazy, but I want something to do. not sit in LA twiddling my thumbs because I’ve completed all other dungeons over and over
It’s hard to explain, but I think the huge protest is mainly a voice of another genre of players than you probably are(?). This is a part of GW2 community, who consciously chose the game based not on cool vids and ads, but on some basic principles and philosophy of this game. They are often MMO experienced vets, who do not need more and more things to complete to feel fulfilled, who decided to make GW2 their home for years. They just realised, the philosophy has been shifted to a direction they know from other games. Games they quit because of concepts they don’t like anymore. And now they’re afraid, GW2 will be in the future less and less what they have been promised and what they expected to be.
http://SecondToNone.pl
It is lazy design for sure. It’s a quick, artificial difficulty boost as it’s cheaper than spending development time designing a real challenge.
This way, they don’t have to come up with new ideas, new puzzles, more intelligent AI. Just slap an arbitrary condition in the game and you have masses of “new content”.Youre ridiculous. How is this lazy design when theyre trying something completely new?
Actually, the idea of gating by gear is not new… It has been introduced in other games and totally failed (e.g. LotRO). It’s not really inventive nor difficult to implement. Just put some items with rare drop rate and force people to farm them till they collect enough to enter next tier of end-game dungeon. Not a skill challenge, not a new idea, not a new gaming mechanic, just a dummy thing to slow your “end game” completion and to make you feel you do any progress by farming the items.
http://SecondToNone.pl
No for any new tiers of gear. No for any new gear mechanics. No for any gating stats.
Yes for any alternative for precursors instead of lottery/gold grind.
Yes for new cosmetics.
Yes for new content.
http://SecondToNone.pl
Well, I’m another old LotRO player (cheers to others!). I remember the “radiance” fail and can’t get rid of the feeling, it is very similar with the new “Infusion”.
Starting my GW2 adventure, I hoped to:
1. Never be forced to farm a specific gear to be able to do any content.
2. Never see another “gating mechanism” to make illusion of progress.
3. Never be in the grind mill of “new, better gear” each update… What’s next? Clestial, angelic, uberpower tier?
4. Never hear the same old chat:
“Hey mate, you wanna do the dung, its cool”
“Sure, why not”
“And what’s your Infusion?”
“40 only”
“Owww, go kill some centaurs noob, we take 200+ only”
It worked till now, but I’m really worried about the new concept of Infusion gating…
