Just saying for people that like SPVP to have a daily/monthly achievement they could do, the reward could be random mats, random tokens, don’t know something.
Has for the monthly / daily achievement, it could be, win X free tournament while solo queuing and win X game in a free tournament while queuing solo.
Dunno just trowing it out there, i think it would be cool to have this.
Knock backs are something essential in SPVP , payed or free tournaments, but the amount of knock backs u get sometimes is just, too much and no amount of stability will save u. With just a few changes too the guardian class (one with the most knock-backs) the “problem” can be solved, and i don’t really see the change i’m suggesting has a nerf but more has a fix.
Suggestion:
First is the skills “line of warding” (Staff 5 ability) and “Ring of warding” (Hammer 5 ability) shouldn’t do a knock-back but simply shouldn’t let u pass, like going into a wall. The tool tip of those skill say’s foes cannot cross, and doesn’t say foes get knockdown. So probably something too look at. And do the same to similar abilities on other professions (i don’t think other professions have this)
Second is the utility “Sanctuary” that creates a bubble that “Foes cannot enter” says on tooltip but it just knock´s u back, i would change this skill to do the knock back on people that were inside the bubble, and just don’t let them enter.
Third is the utility “hammer of wisdom” everything is fine except the auto attack knock back, its just simply put, stupid.

Some times don’t know the cause of it, but the swap button turns grey and u can’t swap your weapons. Only fix for it is to get out of combat and manually switch some weapon and its fixed, but this is really annoying and it kills the fights when it happens, because believe it or not weapon swapping its kinda big deal in this game :S
While i agree getting stomped isn’t fun and their needs to be some sort of ranking system i don’t think elo should be used. I say this because of games like league of legends which has probably the most toxic and just angry mad communities ive ever seen in a game.
What happened there and what would happen here is people would rage at each other and feel that if a person was having a bad game then that person is ruining their elo and dragging them down into elo hell were everyone is terrible according to to the person and they believe they should have a higher ranking.
Matches would become rage pits were they losing team all blamed each other or ganged up on one person and we would hear stuff like so many noobs just want a good team kinda post and such in forums.
I just think that arenanet needs to introduce a rating system for 5v5 team play (at least), because u say its no fun getting stomped, i can say its no fun stomping ppl that don’t know how to play, well the 1st couple of times it might be but it does get boring after some time, and payed tournaments wont solve this problem, it might smooth it but will not solve it (will see in the next weeks).
I agree with Eon when he say’s that rating system can be harmful for single play and ppl tend to be mad if they lose rating because someone screw’s up, but i still think that no rating system is way more harmful to the game. Playing just for nicer looking gear doesn’t hold players, playing to be one of the higher rating gamer’s does (some nice rewards at the end of “season” wouldn’t hurt)
That being said, me and my team find the most fun fair match’s, and we are probably not alone i guess.
Another thing that would be great for arenanet to introduce to pvp some sort of spectator mod, but guess that is something that requires a little more work. A recap of the match would be appreciated too ;]
Im sum:
Rating system “good/fun”
Getting stomped “not good/no fun”
Stomping noobs “not good/no fun”
Spectator mod “very good”
