I love Guild Wars 2, but I can’t stop thinking about games like Skyrim. I do not want to press for a more anti-social game, but there is a certain atmosphere while you play alone or with select friends. The stories really can come alive and there is not much “interference”.
With that said, I would like to point out that everyone has different opinons on how a game should be played, but if you are like me, and sometimes other distract you from the emersing into the world, then different game-mode options would be perfect. If you feel like running around MMO style, go ahead. You feel like playing un-interrupted, go ahead. It can be something incorporated into the different worlds, as like an option before you login.
This would give the game all the joys of a solid RPG game and the social and interactivness of an MMO. It would make the game very versatile. I don’t know if there are any other players who feel this way, but if you don’t like any soloness just stay off that gameplay mode. They could be “Solo / RPG”, “Group Play”, “MMO”. The last one would be what it is now. Maybe you can even morph the first two, and just play solo and add friends if you want.
Who knows, I think it sounds very nice. Just a though
