Speaking of QoL improvements:

01. Temporal Curtain

  • Will not apply swiftness if you or your allies already have it, regardless of the amount.

I understand why ANet don’t want curtain to apply ridiculous amounts of swiftness to people who go back and forth through it, but it is so frustrating — and common — when you don’t get any swiftness from it if someone used shorter duration swiftness. This happens a lot in WvW, where guards lay their staff symbols with 4 sec of swiftness.

This should be easy to get improved though: just make this skill apply it’s swiftness and an effect with “temporal curtain doesn’t apply swiftness to you” (do it similar to already existing negative effects from skills, like haste and frenzy: call it temporal paradox or whatever, use temporal curtain icon, duration should be 5 seconds — as long as curtain lasts). Since curtain already checks whether player who passes it has swiftness or not when it procs, make it check for this new effect instead, and voila! This way same curtain / several curtains won’t stack, but you’ll still be able to get swiftness if you have it already form another source. This new effect should not prevent swiftness from other sources though, only from curtain, or it will make things even worse.

This won’t solve the problem at its core, but should be relatively easy to implement.

We’ve tried this path today, and Simin fight was… odd. Sparks behavior is much better now, indeed, but Simin’ second phase looked all bugged. She didn’t go invisible at about 30 second intervals as before, but rather at random times, usually after 15-18 seconds (we measured), but sometimes way less, like 5-7 seconds. She literally appeared and went away before we could do anything. When doing so she was at about 30% hp, so it wasn’t usual case when she is a bit above 50%, and then wents invis at 50%. Needless to say, it was really frustrating, as the rest of the run was almost flawless, we spent a bit more then an hour to get to her, and 4 hours tryingto bring her down.

I’d really like to see Robert’s commentary on how this fight is intended to work, as right now it seems all wrong.

Apothecary's items of lower levels

Apothecary’s stat combination (Healing Power/Toughness/Condition Damage) is only available on level 75+ items. I suggest to add it to lower levels by adding various shell items (e.g. soft shell / shell / hard shell) for crabs, turtles and other shelled creatures. This will bring this item in line with other fine crafting materials, and will allow to add a Healing Power/Toughness stat combination for level 21-60 items.

As for jewelry, various flowers can also be added to lower level plants to complement passion flowers, or alternatively mother of pearl can be added (makes sense IMO, since Pearl gives Healing Power, and Mother of Pearl will give Healing Power/Toughness).
