Turns out it WAS my network even though I can totally complain on the internet.

I fixed the issue by getting into command prompt and typing ipconfig /flushdns

So, problem solved.

Cannot load into map.

I am able to log in and select my characters, but when the game tries to load into the map they’re in (most of them are in PvP lobby or Divinity’s Reach, though I don’t think it’s relevant) I get a Network Error Code=1083:5:7:1595:101

Obviously it’s not MY network, since I can clearly complain on the internet.

It’s possible I’m stuck in a PvP match or something since I was in a queue a few days ago when the servers had to be shut down and rolled back and I haven’t logged back in since, until today.

1. Add /resign function: see thread : https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/pvp/resign-Merged/first#post6029686
2. Modify MMR system and pips system to emphasize average round-by-round stats, e.g. killcount, damage, healing to allies, etc. Rank these minor stats against other players in multiple ladders to create an aggregate overall ranking. Reset these ladders monthly. This will favor solo players.
3. Bring back underwater PvP. Raid on the Capricorn has been the site of many a triumph. I only have a Kraitkin legendary and I want to look shiny.
4. A skills template system that enables us to save and load builds like in GW1 would be incredibly convenient.

5. Balance really obvious stuff. If there’s one gimmick that everyone’s using, either it needs to be nerfed or all the other skills that class has need to be modified.
-Trapper runes need to go. That stealth on trap is disgusting and it triggers off ranger seed skills, so we get all these rangers that have like 75% stealth uptime in combat, which are far more aggravating than thieves, and guardians with stealth are just silly.
-Power, condi, tank, and party support all need to be equally viable within each class, good luck with that! Sorry, that’s not a very specific suggestion.
-Elementalists and engineers are so tough to kill it’s a joke. Here I am complaining about tanks when I said they have to be viable, sigh. Viable, yet reasonable?
-When balancing anything, look at metabattle.com and nerfhammer it, or HARD counter it. Top PvP teams? Nerfhammer them! Clearly they are using the most optimal builds, therefore THAT is what needs to be nerfed/countered! Everyone else basically copies them anyway, so they’re a representative sample!

Back in GW1, there was a function that I and many others made frequent use of in PvP and GvG. This function was a chat command that set a flag for voluntarily losing the round or exiting a PvE instance.

The command was /resign.

I did a number of runs today and lost virtually all of them due to a player or, in one case, two players that simply gave up at the very beginning of the round due to something they saw and deemed an instantaneous losing situation. I would like a /resign function because:

1. It will allow players to express themselves (at the very least).
2. It would give Anet a countable measure of how often a particular player just gives up, which can be factored into MMR or somesuch thing
3. It would enable players to end an inevitably losing round without suffering needless pummeling from the winning team.

A slight modification I might make to the way it was in GW1 is that in GW1, the entire team had to /resign to end the round. It is my belief that there are many players that will never, ever, /resign. As such, I believe a 3/5 vote to /resign is reasonable.

I definitely recall that this has been suggested before, and I’m sure it will be again, I simply wanted to express the idea again in my own semi-coherent fashion.

Couldn’t agree with you more.

Right now the pvp feels like it tends to snowball after the first crucial fights in a match, and as the match goes on its harder and harder to keep up if you’re already losing let alone make a comeback.

Agree 10/10.

The issue is that most pvp players don’t know how to adapt. Like if you lose mid fight initially it doesn’t mean to bang your head and go for mid all game because they have a better 4v4 comp against you. Play sides. On top of that if you are on staggered respawn you shouldn’t just go straight into a bad fight and die again.

It doesn’t snowball but people allow it to snowball due to bad play and a complete lack of understanding of basic pvp mechanics

Implementing a /resign function isn’t specifically about players playing badly or tactical error.

There is virtually nothing that ANet can do about the way players play the game. The matchmaking system itself, flawed as it may appear, is an incredible feat of controlling player-player interactions.

Even very high MMR players desire to rage or /resign when things go south, not naming any names here, but we all know someone who will rage at the drop of a hat despite being matched fairly with equally skilled players.

All ANet can do is give us tools like /resign to help us deal with each other.

(repost from https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/suggestions/Colorblind-Mode-2/first#post2585129 )
I am a friend of Draezha, and from what I’ve seen, they have had to deal with color blindness by memorizing and predicting the attack animations of boss monsters to predict when to dodge/reflect/etc. but when it comes to knowing where to dodge, they are helpless if they just dodge into ANOTHER red circle. That said, it’s often difficult to see the attack animations of creatures when they’re being hit with loads and loads of giant explodey particle effects. The very fact that Draezha has to play this way makes them an amazing player.

Then there’s the platforms. There are these platforms in various jumping puzzles and notably in FOTM (the asura fractal) where the platforms are translucent and red. Draezha cannot see these things. They are for all practical purposes invisible, and if someone isn’t standing on the platform to let them know where it is, they will miss. Although this is hilarious, it is also sad like a herd of lemmings jumping off a cliff into the ocean.

I’m not colorblind, but a greyscale mode or something to make the game easier for colorblind players is definitely something that needs consideration. They may not make up a very large portion of the player base, but think of it as another way to reduce the graphical load on processing power. A colorblind mode could very well be a way for players with less powerful computers to compensate as well.

{Sorrow's Furnace} Followers of Master Jack [FOMJ] is recruiting!

Guild Name: Followers Of Master Jack [FOMJ]
Guild Age: Est. 2006, 2010, 2012
Website: http://www.fomj.net
Server: Sorrow’s Furnace
Rough Location: United States, CST (GMT-6)

The Followers of Master Jack [FOMJ] are recruiting! Sorrow’s Furnace Homeworld, 200+ members.

FOMJ was started with the launch of GW1 back in 2006 and has since been carried over to GW2. We have always been very well-organized and make many resources available to our members.

We are a semi-hardcore guild focused mostly on PvE. We farm a lot, do dungeons a lot, and generally work towards getting our legendaries, achievements, and other shiny objects.

We host a forum website and a Mumble server (primary VOIP server). We have an active Mumble community, and we use it for WvW, Dungeons, and generally hanging out. The forum is generally used for administrative news.

FOMJ is a very active guild and we do a LOT of dungeons and fractals. We are truly PvX. If there’s something in the game that you want to do, you can probably find someone from FOMJ who does it. Jumping puzzles. Dungeons. PvP. Farming very specific mobs. Power-trading.

We have a lot of knowledge and we share it. FOMJ officers are familiar with techniques and consumables that make the game easier for players of any skill level. FOMJ has been a major part of shaping Sorrow’s Furnace as a server, and we hope to continue to do so.

We do not require that you install or use Mumble, or join the forums, but it is strongly encouraged.
We do require 100% representation.

Please indicate your interest by PMing or mailing Alice Of The Twist.1230 in game.
