Just HoT. HoT have core game include free for new customer.
heh
isnt that kind of a middle finger to the ppl who bought both?New player do not have the 3 year of game play older player have. New player do not get to do living story season 1 older player had. New player have to buy living story season 2 if want to play it. New player do not have all achievement and other thing older player have.
(Marked section for emphasis)
And yet vet players who DID pay for it already have to pay again to be able to play HoT. How is that NOT a middle finger to them? Achievements that mean little in the overall game play content, so basically, veteran players have to pay let’s say $100 to get the same thing as the people who now just pay for the HoT expansion pack.

Not kind of. It is. And the “core” game is still available as the F2P version, although supposedly slightly limited features from the original paid version.
Unhappy about the disappearance of AP for single wintersday daily items that you kept last year, which also brings up my displeasure with the single dailies losing any AP for completion of them, even if you don’t do enough of the dailies to get the daily achievement. And no to all the haters, “just do enough dailies to get the achievement” is not an acceptable answer.
Please consider having a few Wintersday beverage merchants around Divinity’s Reach who would sell the drinks for karma (account bound of course).
10,000 beverages is a lot, an incredible amount for a time limited achievement. The price of drinks is not going down but up in fact. It is becoming less of an achievement and more a case of who can afford to spend the money (in game coin or real world) or time to farm them out.
It would be a real shame to see people who did all the other achievements for the Winter’s Presence but just couldn’t afford to purchase drinks or farm for the whole holiday for enough drinks. Please consider making this collection more about holiday fun and less about the farm and/or having vast wads of gold.
Please understand I’m not saying you shouldn’t have to do something to earn this achievement, but 5,000 drinks would have been a lot more reasonable and doable for people who are not rich and have a life outside of this game. As it is 10,000 please, please, pretty please do consider this as an alternative that still fits the holiday. By selling drinks for karma, players could go about, do events, have fun, enjoy the holiday and still purchase drinks towards the achievement. Everyone wins!
I hadn’t considered this before, but this may in fact be nothing more than a money grab on Anet’s part, by ridiculously limiting the supply as they have, it drives people to spend their gold, and/or buy gem cards to get more game gold to accomplish this.
My suggestion for a solution would be to have a vendor available during the rest of the year as well, have the merch sell them for karma or game gold, either one would work for me.
Easy way to solve the supply issue and the repetitive task for the 10000 beers AP is to make all mobs around Tyria has a chance to drop presents.
This would increase the supply of presents to counter the excessive demand, while not forcing you to do one activity for the whole month.
Another simple solution is to make all the festival beers gran 4 points of contribution instead of 1, like most of the other beers in Tyria.
Many beers in Tyria grant 4 points toward the drunkard title, no idea why this seasonal beer should be an exception.
As I posted just before this, I think it is them trying to sneak in a gold sink. By making the availability limited to the festival event, it drives up demand on the trading post, while not specifically penalizing the people buying them, it IS acting like a gold sink in this respect.
I do agree with the idea that they are being ridiculous on the number of drinks it counts towards. Even the drinks you can get for 16c are worth 2 drinks on the achievement track.
Anyone else thinking that this is Anet trying to sneak in another gold sink on us? I mean, unless they are planning on making them available at other times of the year, this is ridiculous and the only source is the trading post (as in Anet getting their standard 15%) which will get ridiculous expensive once Wintersday is over and the source for the drinks dries up.
Yesterday, when moving from one map to another, the game kicked me all the way out. In previous times, when the game has had what are apparently similar issues, it opens up another window, asking me if I wish to report the problem to Anet or not, and automatically checks the box “include e-mail address” (I am putting this in to help identify the window that opens).
Yesterday, when this hard kick happened, something very unusual happened. That window opened, and then it kept opening more windows saying the same thing, almost like someone was trying to print 100s of copies of the same exact line.
Today, when trying to open the 64 bit game client, the GW2 window that eventually opens when the main screen/client is done downloading updates was reduced to about a 1/4 inch high by 2 inch wide window with a minimize window and close window button (the center maximize window choice was greyed out) in their normal upper right (of that window) corner location. The window would not let me click and drag the edges to resize the window, which it has before, and no, I have not changed any settings regarding that on any programs.
Also, when trying to sign in to the regular 32 bit client, it sits there and thinks about it, and then comes back with unable to sign in, and suggests that it is the user’s equipment or settings causing the issue.
