DON’T go to the forums for advice nor give too much thought in other peoples opinions.Everybody has a different opinion based on their own experience. For example in a post i see a lot of thieves complaining that their class is rubbish while on the same time on another post other thieves claim to be fine.Same goes for every single class.(Besides warriors, everyone loves warriors {Not really everyone but you get what i mean}) Just go and decide for yourself what you want to play even if it means you have to spend a few hours choosing. Only yesterday i made the mistake of actually taking into account everything anyone said and i am going insane. So please people if you value your sanity, don’t ask if a class is good or bad. Just ask what a class can do. And by that i mean “do necros have burst damage” or “do thieves have a lot of health?” Ask questions that can only be answered with straight facts and not opinions. Just my opinion although
(And no it is NOT obvious, falling into the trap called “other people’s opinions” is way too easy)
If your are a GOOD player, any class will be good for you, although some will be easier, more rewarding to play, others alot more dificuld and somtimes frustrating, thief is one of the second kind of profession.
I main thief since BW1 and consider myself fairly skilled, i cant complaint much but if you are not a fast learner with quick reflexes or simply don’t have much time available to train, than i’d suggest you play a different profession. Otherwise, as i said before, you can play any class you wish including thief ofc
I usually agree that if you are a good player no matter what class you choose you will pull through i’m just concerned because there are numbers involved and sometimes skill doesn’t always count when numbers are involved. Also you are talking at a guy who enjoyed every little second of the masochistic dark souls which is widely considered as one of the hardest games. (It isn’t that hard if you actually learn to play) My point is that a like both a challenge and difficulty and i find it way more rewarding to win if i actually have strived and fought for it
So you had decided to roll a thief when all the other classes were complaining about how TOO good it was and the forums were full of “thieves are OP” threads, and now that it’s been toned down you lost all your interest?
Errr, yea, well, the thing is you’ll need to be at least decent to “be average”. If you are just a baddy you’ll kill baddies and die to decent players, as it should have been from the very beginning.
Not at all. Other classes always complain about other classes and how op they are. The only reason i decided to roll a thief is only because i like the thief and the playstyle. When the forums were full of “Thieves are OP” i wasn’t even checking the forums at the time. I didn’t even know they existed. I only wanted to know if there are thieves who enjoyed playing and they weren’t miserable like a lot of guys i have seen on the forums. Apparently there are. Maybe i will continue leveling up my thief. Not sure yet.

I recently started playing guild wars again cause i was busy for the past 5-6 months and had stopped playing.I decided to play a thief (Mostly for playing pvp). But after looking at the forums i lost any will to play a thief. All i hear is how nerfed and hated the class is and this is happening only to thieves(at least to this extent). So in the end making a thief is a waste of time? Because i would really hate to level a class to 80 and then realize that no matter what i won’t even be able to be average in pvp no matter how good I am?
