First, let me say that if you have no characters on an account, transferring is free.

I realize you say that you want to make your characters with the guild, so that brings me to my main question: Are you looking for a guild you can explore the PvE wilderness and level up with? Or are you looking for a guild you can hang out with people and chat, but that focuses primarily on end-game content for when you get there (leveling is fast in GW2).

If you’re looking for the latter, then [VZ] seems like it’d be a good fit (we use TS instead of Vent, hope you don’t hate us!). We are an average size guild that focuses on end-game content, but we’re primarily looking for friends, so we’d be more than happy to chat it up with you as you level, and do dungeons and other end-game content with you as you get there. If you’re looking for the former, then you probably wouldn’t find what you’re looking for in VZ (though you’d be more than welcome to join regardless). If you’re curious about the guild and would like more details, feel free to follow the link in my signature and read more.

Either way, though, I hope you find what you’re looking for in a guild. It’s one of the most important parts of the game.

I do want a solid guild for end-game play, but I also don’t want to be completely on my own for leveling. In terms of exploring the world, questing, and doing world events, I’m a lone wolf. I like to chat with people while I do things, but I play largely alone. However, I would be interested in running dungeons and such with friends, as finding pub groups on a first character can end… badly. So as long as VZ won’t be completely unhelpful (and will help me run dungeons here and there on the way to 80), it sounds like exactly the kind of guild I would want.

That rumor is correct, this game is not based on gear grind.

It’s fairly easy to get max gear with the best stats.

In terms of WvW, there will be a big patch next Tuesday which will introduce some mechanics that will make you more of an efficient/better rounded player the more successful/dedicated you are in WvW, but it doesn’t necessarily mean you will be stronger than others.

I got about 1600 hours in game and I use my time to amass wealth. It’s my goal, and not many people share it. Other’s like to level up and gear their alts. Other’s like to get full achievements. Other’s like to contribute in WvW and train to become well-respected players/groups/guilds.

is there any point to taking down the big “world bosses”? They seem like awesome fights, but I am wondering if there is a reward for doing so (other than money)

Hey guys, so before I go ahead and create my character, I am looking to find a guild to join, so I can just create my character on that server. I assume server transfers are a paid thing. Some information about me:

-I’m a 22 year old, living in the United States (the Northeast, more specifically)
-I’m about to graduate college, and looking for full time employment (as a writer)
-I played WoW for like 5 years, so I am very familiar with MMO’s
-I generally like to help people, and enjoy a friendly, family like atmosphere

I’d like to find a semi-active guild (with at least 10 active members) preferably with a Vent channel. I look forward to meeting you guys online!

Hey guys, so this is my first post and I am brand new to the game. I know that this is sort of learning about flying before I start to crawl, but I bought this game knowing that the 1-80 experience would be really fun (I’ve tried the game on a friend’s account before), but I’ve heard a lot of rumors about end game.

I’m pretty used to the WoW system, where it’s a loot grind, for gear that gives +30 more of a stat, so you can have a maxed out character, and oddly, I really like that system. I also like PvP, and one of the best things about it is you get gear that makes you more and more powerful, able to take down players more easily, or stand toe-to-toe with the best geared opponents in the game. In short, I’m a loot who… not a very nice word for someone who is easily pleased.

I’ve heard that Guild Wars 2 doesn’t ascribe to this, and I still wanted to give it a shot. I mean, I know it has great end game PvP, and some cool world bosses that are fun to fight, not to mention legendary weapons if I really want to go all out trying to grind for the best items (though I have heard it’s very little about stats, and more about the aesthetics of the weapon?), but I want to know, what do you guys do with your end game? As far as I know, Guild Wars 2 has had an active population since it began, and by now most of you much have reached 80 with your characters, and other than just getting alts up, what else are you doing? Is it entirely PvP, and the occasional world boss fight?

In short, how do you guys occupy yourselves at max level? I look forward to seeing some of you guys around the world!
