Majorfish: I have the same problem with items being greyed out and thus, having difficulties finding anything to level my skills with. Which is why I felt certain that the disappearing items was a bug.

Ahh I see, thank you. Just figured that the items colored red, had something to do with being unable to make discoveries from them. And I guess it has, just not the way I thought.

So maybe it isn’t a bug after all? I was just so certain, at least in regards to the inscriptions used in artificing, that I should have been able to make more discoveries with those. But maybe it explains why I was able to use them in the huntsman craft then, and not the artificing craft.

Maybe I’m mistaken then, I’ll have another look at my crafting tonight and see how it works out. Thanks for your time and answer!

Elshagan: Thanks for your input. Unfortunately it’s definately a bug. The items that I’m unable to make further discoveries from doesn’t disappear, but gets colored red’ish (at least I think that’s why they turn red).

This is a matter of materials that I know for certain that I should be able to make discoveries from, but they’re simply not visible in the discovery section. I can have carrots, walnuts and onions (in that order) in my bag for example, but then the discovery pane will only show the carrots and onions next to each other.

Missywink & Lithorec: Thanks for your response. Even though I’m sad to hear you’re also effected by this, it’s nice to know that it ain’t just me though. Means there’s a chance it’ll actually get fixed.

My crafting seems to be bugged. As I’m levelling my different crafting disciplines, all of a sudden items will start disappearing from the discovery panel.

Artificing: Somewhere between 75 and 90 in skill, some/most of the inscriptions that I made, were no longer available in the discovery panel at the crafting station.

Jeweler: Same as the above; the filigrees I made where no longer available in the discovery panel around 75-90 in skill.

Cooking: Had so many ingredients that I didn’t notice the bug until around 170 in skill. Walnuts and a bunch of other ingredients was no longer (or had never been I’m suspecting) accessible in the discovery panel.

Obviously this is really blocking my progress, as I’m unable to make a lot of items and, along the line, have very few/none options left for items to level my skill with, or discover any new ones.

I’ve tried to drag and drop the items from my inventory (where they’re always visible/accessible) to the discovery panel with no luck. I’ve tried to move the items from my inventory to my bank and back again; no difference. Tried sending it all in a mail to my boyfriend (who btw, doesn’t experience this bug at all in any crafting discipline) and have him return it; still bugged.

Picked up the huntsman craft along the way also, and found that the inscriptions that were bugged for me in the discovery panel in artificing, worked just fine and was accessible in the discovery panel at the huntsman crafting station. So far this hasn’t been bugged for me yet, but I have a feeling that it’s just a matter of time (still pretty low level in this as well).
This is also the reason why I won’t bother picking up any of the other crafts until this is fixed, as I highly suspect that it’ll be the same story all over again with those as well.

Also, since most of the items that seems to be bugged, are not items that you can deposit as collectibles (and I can’t bring myself to just deleting them, since I’ve spend a lot of materials crafting them), they’re now filling up my personal bankslots, guildvault and bags and thus; creating kind of a storage issue.

I’m really frustrated with this bug by now, as tradeskilling is one of the things I enjoy the most when I play and usually spend a whole lot of time doing. And apart from this bug, I’m really excited about the crafting in gw2.
It’s the best and most fun out of all the crafting systems in all the mmo’s I’ve played this far. Especially since I don’t have to create half a dozen alts in order to be able to collect all materials and do all crafting disciplines.

So thumbs up for creating such an awesome crafting system devs, but please, please fix this annoying bug, so I can actually use it

Is anyone else experiencing this problem btw?
