The fix in the drop rate for dye doesn’t necessarily come at the expense of bug fixes. There are a lot of factors that come into these decisions, and different teams work on different things.
Jeffrey Vaughn has taken the time to respond to this post numerous times to try and explain ANET’s position, to me that is good customer service. The least we can all do is try and show a little respect. He has said the bug will be fixed, once it has been fully tested, and as frustrating as this is I don’t think anyone wants them rushing a fix out at the risk of causing further bugs.
I agree the empty zones are a problem, but I don’t think server consolidation is the answer, as that would make the crowded higher level zones even more crowded. The best fix would be something that brings people back to the lower level zones, perhaps some unique drops, or activities spanning across zones for achievements or other types of reward. Dropping the price of using waypoints and providing vendors that allow you to convert a pile of low level crafting mats to higher level maps could help too.
It’s nice to see a (mostly) positive thread about what there is to do at 80…
I’m nowhere near level 80 zones yet, my main is level 63. My husband and I are running through the zones in level order, making sure we experience everything, and are currently in a level 40ish zone. I imagine I will get to 80 long before I get to level 80 zones, so the game won’t really change for me, it will still be just as fun as now with plenty to keep me busy. And I have 6 alts to get too… :-)
People are already making those kinds of complaints, I think they come with the territory.
I like the idea of the option to block all requests. If that was there duelling could actually be a fun addition.
I don’t feel like something is missing, but yeah, gimmicky-type drops on a random basis would be a cool addition. I would add an increased drop rate for the black lion chest keys too.
I hope not…my experience with duelling in WoW was high level players constantly chasing around lower level players who would have absolutely no show of beating them and spamming duel requests. Just annoying.
Fair enough, but when enough people don’t find the activities in the game fun then they should change the style of the game if they want to keep their job.
That’s true, and if it comes to the point where there are more people like you and less like me, they should make the changes. My point is that a minority should not demand changes that will lessen the enjoyment of the majority.
All activities in a game are essentially a “waste of time”, the only value to them is if you are having fun. There is plenty to do in GW2, but if you don’t find the activities available fun, then it’s probably just not the game for you. It isn’t fair or reasonable to ask the devs to change the style of the game to suit your personal tastes. Find a game that suits you.
I’ll add my thank you as well. I’m having a ball in game, and to be honest the few bugs I’ve come across are an inconvenience but they in no way detract from the overall game for me. And the impression I am getting from what I’ve heard and seen from Anet is that they love their game and are working hard to fix things.
I’ve had the same feeling once I got past the starter zones. Play whatever class is fun for you, and don’t worry too much about how you compare to others. This game is still pretty new and you have lots of time to learn.
That said, I have found that for me the ranger is pretty much the easiest of the classes to play, and the one I die on least.
Yes, gold spamming is annoying. Report it, block them, and move on. ANET has a lot of different priorities at the moment and have stated that they are not currently able to address everything within a day.
If you have a fully thought out suggestion on how they can prevent gold spamming, put it in the suggestions forum. Otherwise, a little patience is required.
